    What torque settings you using, 1 Ugah Dugguh or 2 ugahdugahs?

    • @BrokeMX
      @BrokeMX Місяць тому

      Depends, actually it was 25ft/lb on the cylinder and 18 on the head. Did happen to strip two head studs because my torque wrench wasn’t accurate, and that bike should have never had copper washers, live and learn. went and got my first digital wrench today and replaced the studs.

    Great videos and very informative! Also you are great motivation for the to continue re building my 92 suzuki dr350. I currently have everything (hopefully) laid out and just need to put everything back together. One question that i cant seem to find the answer to, is what viable options do i have for the engine aesthetic wise. The options I know of or heard of ar: 1.Clean/brush/vapour blast the engine and leave it as is bare aluminium. (This although a great look in my opinion... Has sparked up the biggest debate of whether the engine will start to oxidize and look bad due to it as well as all the dirt grime that will get stuck to it due the the lack of a protective coat. 2. Powder coating the whole engine which i know has a good result but at a high price. 3. Do a good prep work and use spay on engine enamel. Cheap and easy to touch up i assume?... However i think look wise it doesn't look that great and color selection in my part of the world for high temp spay on paints isnt that great. Silver would be the closest to factory look. I am mostly seeking for an opinion on the bare aluminum option... Vapour blasted or brushed, how do you think it will hold up? Keep in mind this bike will be used off road, it will not be a showroom bike. Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hearing your valuable opinion and sorry for the lengthy post and my limited english.

    • @BrokeMX
      @BrokeMX Місяць тому

      Yes the bare aluminum can oxidize. If this is a bike that will not get cleaned after riding and or left outside then I do not recommend bare aluminum. If I'm correct that is an air-cooled bike so I wouldn't think powder coating the fins would be a great idea as it would impede the heat transfer. Cerakote would be the best option but, bare aluminum will work if you keep it clean and dry when not in use. I ride all my bikes in the woods and on track when possible and have not had any issues with the bare aluminum, but I do wash them, blow them off and put them in the garage when done. Good luck and Thank you

    I hope you are aware that not all bearings are created equal. The Chinese made bearings that are super cheap are made with severely inferior materials. They look like decent parts but they simply do not hold up. The metals they are made from and the heat treatment they receive to temper the metals properly is severely inferior to a factory oem bearing from Japan. Basically you are really asking for it when you buy cheap bearings.
