  • In the seventh episode of our Subnautica playthrough, we give our base a major upgrade, making it both functional and beautifulll. However, our adventure takes an unexpected detour as we get lost whilst trying to find the Mountain Island. This excursion turns out to be successful as we discover precious diamonds. With our newly acquired resources, we prepare to tackle the Aurora once again, this time equipped with a laser cutter. Join me as we enhance our base, explore new territories, and get ready for the challenges that lie ahead on Planet 4546B.
PS I didn't switch my game audio capture on my recording software to Subnautica after stream but I tried my best to make this as unnoticeable as possible!

It's a testament to how far you've come that you set off in the sea moth, looked straight down into fairly dark water, then went dove into the abyss to a depth of about 150 m to the mushroom forest, and that wasn't what fazed you. Good job!

    WOW, your base looks amazing!
Keep le fish alive until you need to cook them, that way they won't rot. Also, don't let the biter get at your fish. Once it dies, it starts rotting, raw or cooked.
That salt needs a drill. A drill that's mounted on the prawn suit. You're not close to the drill yet, tech-speaking or literally speaking. So leave the large deposits be.
The mountain has warpers and a reaper behind it. But happily, Subnautica has no seriously dangerous fauna above water. The mountain is no exception. The cave crawlers are the only hostile fauna above water, and they're not dangerous at all.
Mushroom biome is useful. There's valuable vehicle parts there. But otherwise, there's little stuff of interest there, beyond slim pickings of rare resources.
That IS the right way up, and arguably the safest too.
"I'll leave the lithium" On your head, Lana, but in all my playthroughs, I've needed at least 40 pieces:)
Yayyy, GG Lana! Now revisit every single wreck site, because they usually have GOOD LOOT behind a sealed door that a laser cutter is for.
Lifepod 12 and Lifepod 7 are located in the most dangerous places lifepods can be found, except maybe Lifepod 4, god bless him. (When you get his message and find his Lifepod, you'll understand) It's not generally worth going to those lifepods, apart from exploring the places.
My camera was eventually taken 500 meters away from the scanner room. No, I had nothing to do with it. I'll give you a clue. The thief likes metal, and the camera is mostly metal.
Awesome video Lana, good luck fixing the Aurora!!!

I'm SO glad I didn't run into the reaper at the island. That would of been horrific. I could hear him, but I thought it might be the one from the Aurora.
      I don't like the mushroom biome 😨
Got a list of places to get to, added these pods to the list!
OMG THE STALKERS ARE THEIVES?!!!?! Of course they are!

Congrats on the laser cutter - feels good to finally make that thing doesn't it? Know it took me a good while. The base looks wonderful as well, as mine were mostly just a tube with lockers stuck on the walls.
As to the batteries - if you run out in one tool you can eject a good one from another tool then swap it into the one you need. If you want more mobile storage you can put a second storage bin on Goose until you can make other things. You can freely swap them on and off the ship (just make sure not to take the depth module off while deep...er, not that I did that or anything).

Really cool base! I like it a lot
Maybe a window in front of the chair & desk for more view? 👌🏽
Here's a disturbing fact, the reaper leviathan uses echolocation to hunt you, *so if you can hear its roar, the reaper can see you, no matter how dark or opaque the water is...*

    • @Lobossumi
      @Lobossumi 2 місяці тому

To harvest any material deposit you need to get the prawn suit drill arm upgrade. I don't know the name of the biome, but It in the same direction as the floating island, it has giant blue balls and a warper. You can get the fragments from a wreck. There's also fragments for the grappler arm and I believe the thermal reactor there.

I would also recommend sticking a few more Soloar cells on the base. Each solar cell stores 150 energy units (visible at the top of the screen when you are in your base). These are consumed every time you use the fabricator or recharge your batteries or your sea moth is automatically recharged when you dock. During the day they recharge again and again. But at night it can happen that the base is without energy. With 4 to 5 additional solar cells, you should be able to get through the night without any problems thanks to their extra storage capacity.

    • @YTshashmeera
      @YTshashmeera 3 місяці тому

      @@sarahnachtrose I think 1 solar panel gives 75 and not 150?
I kind of solved it by splitting the base into 2, one for essentials crafting/fabricator, storage & food (with a hatch) and another for moonpools, battery charging, scanner room that drains power quickly & got some of the big boi generators for this part of base.

    • @sarahnachtrose
      @sarahnachtrose 3 місяці тому +1

@@YTshashmeera Ah yes, 75, sorry. I solved it by putting so much panelling on the roof that no matter what I did, the power never went out. And it recharged during the day. I was also too lazy to keep topping up the reactors all the time.

  • @quoniam426

Along a multipurpose room you can only fit two luxury lockers, vs three normal lockers, which gives you more space overall.
In my base I dedicate a room or two for ressources storage. I put the normal lockers on the walls and the glass lockers in the center or in the space available.
Stalkers like to chew on cameras and take them to their lair.
Cameras signal range is quite limited.

    The base looks amazing 💚
There are two islands near the crash zone, north and south of the wreck, north for the alien gun and south for the Degasi abandoned base, you can see them cloaked by clouds in the distance.
You're yet to scan the outcrops, this way you'll have the data on what you can get from each, makes it easier for whenever you're looking for a specific material. Scan all the way, that's the way to go!
Btw, to answer your question, the green wall is just a decoration.
Living near the entrance to the purple cave will prove incredibly valuable for you once you understand how to work a thermal plant, no need to cluster you base with solar pannels.

You're getting so comfortable in the game now! Look at you go! (Meant in an absolutely not condescending way, promise, thalassophobia is intense and you've come far from the first episode.)
There's a trick with the islands, the clouds they're hidden behind look weird through the PDA screen so if you hold up the screen while looking at the horizon you can spot the islands. It's how I found my way before I realised beacons were my new best friends. I started keeping a beacon with me at all times so I could mark anything interesting before I ran away from scary things. 😅
Base building is such a soothing activity in the game, too. I love the trees in the observatory!

Nice to see a new episode, and progress.
Good, solid logistics. Water, food, power, charging facilities - it's all coming together.
With the laser cutter, some previously closed areas (behind sealed doors) can now be accessed. And there are some nice goodies to be had (in wrecks.)
There's a better still water option, but you've yet to find the necessary for that (and it could be a while.) But in the meantime, marblemelons are even easier than making bleach, and they do food and water at the same time.
Seafood becomes less important now (except for the PRAWN, of course...)

Haven't been keeping up but if she has the blueprints I find it worth the time to drop a thermal plant or two and power transmitters. Unless they nerfed something, the transmitters go a long way and getting power a third of the way across the map was easier for me than constantly shoving stuff into the bioreactor

    Nice one! Hello again! 😊
So I did this piece by piece, but I think now editing is over, unlike last time. Here we go on the adventure! 👇
    1:32 Wow! 😮
You know, I am not a girl, my bases only make sense in my brain because they look like a crumpled and folded open tetris warehouse of an autistic person.
    But yours looks extraordinary!
You can really feel at home there! A bed and a bathroom and your autarkic! 😂
Jesus, with plants and posters on the wall and stuff for a cozy living space above the busy machinery room area!
3:50 It makes more what?! 🤣 Not even the UA-cam algorithm can transcribe that sound into letters :D
4:22 Thinking ahead and having a plan for whatever the game throws at you! 👍 Very responsible!
10:03 Yes, I can see this definitely! 👍 Very smooth, settled, dedicated, determined and tidy! 👏👏👏
4:28 I believe my tweeters just went into overdrive...😂 Yes! It looks awesomely cute and provides food as well!
21:24 Alright, I gotta get new loud speakers with durability in higher pitched notes. You do realize, that old people lose the ability to hear in that bats' spectrum of sounds. I am old. But not yet that old! 😂
7:21 Pokémon, catch 'em all in the high (red) grass! 😀 Oh donkeys, I think the high grass is a Zelda reference...
7:44 "Noone can fight against the grav trap!" - except gravity maybe? 8:10... "No, you float!" 😇
7:51 I just now, quarter past 11 over here, found out, that I could pick up exactly this spadefish to my inventory only when having the sea glider in my hands. Don't ask me why. Otherwise it would wiggle in my hand as it does in yours. 〰️ooww this eye, that never blinks...〰️ Gives my spooky spooky spooky! 😀 I have to pri...
Hey, I have heard, they sold the peeper as a fluffy pillow for a while! Only in a limited amount, sadly, but how cool is that? 😲😄
8:48 Yes, no need to rush it, it is not leaving!
9:58 had my 🤣! "I'll leave those here. They don't belong here, but they can go in there for now..." 😂
Cannot emphasize how often that exact phrase was going through my head as well!!! And yes, I did some clean up afterwards, but I also started to put up one "quick shuffle locker" at each of my bases for a quick in and out and emptying the pockets. 😅
    12:47 Oh, classic d'oh moment 😅
But not so much tbh, because in the deeper water, the light just hits some particles in front of you and you cannot see that much more either because 👻scary deep infinity below👻.
15:18 Like a bug piece of sh..stain on your boots! Try me, try me!! 😂 Yeah! Let them suck on some other pair of radiation suits, little alien corpse munching parasite freaks! I got a first aid kit and I am not afraid to use it!
    15:42 "It's not that deep! It's fine!" ... ...
    * very loud silence *
    "Wooow!" 😱😱😱
It's just a little downhill, Lana, you did it later on the edge of a mountain! 😃
20:31 So much progress for the laser cutter and in experience! Preparing, pathfinding in total darkness, fighting little critters, swimming over a dark cave lake... Sliding down from a mountain seemed so easy! If there was water around you, it is basically the same thing!
Naw, I am not gonna tell you where the reapers usually are, it is possible to look it up though. I think it's basically three main places that I encountered them.
The ghost reapers later don't count, they only look bad, but they don't eat you. They are just sad, that they are dead. 😥😭👻😭😥* sniff *
But the way you did it there was absolutely safe and smooth, can't argue with that.
20:56 Exactly. Good things come to those who don't rush. "...just take your time. It's gonna be okay!"
23:24 Remember those fish you collected the teeth from? They like to collect any metal objects, like the scrap metal pieces and they also like to carry away your camera 😅 I think that is how they build nests or something in the creepy cuddley kelpy areas.
When you see one and you fight them with your knife, they usually let go and sometimes they drop teeth as they do. But I think you got some teeth already on your own.
See? You do not even need so much help, you are doing it!
23:57 That was exactly my idea, but idk how far these cameras go, tbh I haven't tried it.
Did not make much sense for me, because I could not grab the nice things in the cave with just the camera, so I ditched them and went straight instead. But maybe you can get familiar with the place with the cameras first.
24:10 You also wanted to check your grav trap for fish for your aquarium, remember? 😅 But don't worry, you are not the only one ADHDing in this game! 😂
    24:46 Nevermind! 😊
Hey can you believe it? That was one productive episode! You got a lot done this time, that is amazing how things come together piece by piece! Great job! See you soon! 🐡🐠🦐🐟🐟 🐠🐡🦐
North is to the nose of the aurora, that is where the alien structure mountain island is. Scottland.
South is to the tail, that is where the floating islands with the men made bases are. Basically the English channel with its islands.
West is, like always, into the wide wasteness of the Atlant... the ocean.
East is towards the Aurora. Or Europe.
In caves, just place one beacon at the entrance and collect and reuse it later.
Or, like you did, with the rescue pods.
They almost all got a depth marked in their name, that is how I could tell them apart quickly. (How long I had to hold my breath the first time looking for them 😲😳😞😣😖🤢😵‍💫🥵😅😂)
