- *CORRECTION - I was under the impression, and indicating, that this is a jarrah ply snare. It was astutely pointed out to me this is, in fact, a marri ply drum. Even rarer!
My first time encountering a Brady snare - and what a snare to experience. This one is extra special, as you'll see.
Talk me off the ledge. I shouldn't buy this, should I?

Very nice! I've got a Brady 14x6.5 Jarrah Block and a Walkabout Series 12x7 York Gum Block. Amazing instruments...and heavy!
Sounds awesome
I lived in Australia for a year studying music and had the opportunity to play on one or two Brady snares. Loud and sensitive, cutting and fat. All of those were normal 14 inch sizes. But none the less the rimshots sound familiar to me. Almost like a metal shell but with something "woodier" about it.
Also I had heard a rumor that Jimmy Chamberlin bought several Brady snares during the Australian leg of the Siamese Dream tour, and subsequently used them all over the recordings for Melon Collie. Not sure if that's accurate, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
A big regret for me,was not buying a Brady kit when they were manufacturers of fine drums.Should of bought one.
I owned 3 Brady kits in my 20's. I regret selling them even though I got a good price for them. They are the best drums I have ever owned. My Tama Star series is the closest I have owned since.
The medium tuning had the most character to me, would have liked to hear it with some muffling as well
Sounds great but probably costs a TON more than 14”. Also noticed your playing maple sticks, I just made the switch to maple sticks too interested to hear your thoughts on moving to maple sticks
I've been using sugar maple Blazers for probably over 10 years now, and love that I can have a slightly thicker stick (less pinching) but much lighter. They'll break quicker, on average, than hickory but totally worth it for me.
Buy it!!! It sounds amazing on this video!!!!
Corrado, you're supposed to be a good influence! 🤣 I may or may not already have it on layaway though...
I have a Brady snare im trying to find out more about. Serial Number JP0761... Does that mean it's Jarrah Ply? Cheers.
My understanding is yes, that'd be the case.
@@ColeParamore Cheers!
I sent you a message on IG dude. I can give you a pretty detailed backstory on Bradys
@coleparamore I'd also love to buy it this weekend if she's for sale?
