    That's a nice review :) just a little added info. You said in the video that the lock is bike specific, this is only partly true. It really comes down to the distance between the bolts holding the brake caliper (100mm in your case) and whether it's a BMW. Other than that, it's a standardised kit, you can take this one along to a new bike, if you keep the spacers it came with.
    The BMW comes into play as BMW uses a different thread size, it's the only brand to use 1.5mm thread, all others are 1.25, the spacers are the same across all brand, so you'll either get a kit with 1.25mm threaded bolts, or 1.5mm threaded bolts.

    My Roadlok is my favorite accessory. The company was nice enough to retro-fit mine to the 2010 version where you just pop in the BrakeBolt without inserting and turning the key.

    Nice review Steve 👍 Does it weigh much and is the weight noticeable when riding, on turn in etc?

    • @stevesherlockrides
      @stevesherlockrides  4 роки тому +1

      You dint know it's there mate. The heaviest part is the toughened steel spring bolt. It's very discrete in appearance also which is a good thing

    • @roadlok_eu

      @@stevesherlockrides the lock itself weighs about 300 grams, that's about 2% of the total unsprung weight in the front. As you said, you won't notice that.

    Could you use this to help with doing a burnout as it will keep the front wheel locked?

    So the locking pin is spring loaded? Does it have a ball bearing or other locking means to keep it extended once it springs into place? If not, can't someone just remove the caliper mounting bolts, drill through the aluminum opposite the locking pin, then push the pin back into the lock against the spring pressure with a screwdriver and remove the lock without any real struggle?
    I think I would much prefer a solid locking pin if this is the case, or else a hardened steel body to ward off drill attacks. If it's mounted to the bike, then who cares if steel would weigh more if it means greater protection?

    • @stevesherlockrides
      @stevesherlockrides  2 роки тому

      I disagree. If you have to go to those lengths then you will have been noticed and rumbled . Sounds like you dont want one so go with what you prefer.as I'm not trying to sell them but rather explain how to fit and use.

    Hi, how do you find the hole in brake disc? Or is not needed to have the wheel in exact position?

      If someone unbolt it from the brake, the retain bolt is still going through the disc hole, so it basically turns into a regular disc lock.

    Nice video! I've installed my ROADLOK yesterday on a 2017 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, and also made a video of it: ua-cam.com/video/vVPbrYllJVw/v-deo.html.
    Ordered a new torque wrench by the way (because I couldn't find the one I already had), and will do an extra mounting check before I ride again.
