    Saint Matthew 9:13
    Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

    God’s will is for us to seek him and to live for him. Through obedience and faith. We were made in his image to serve him.

    Absolutely true!! It's all in the measure in which we open ourselves up to freely receive what the Elder says to us...if we put up a 'block' he will not push or force...then we miss out on receiving the fullness and depth of his words.

    Whom do we wish to please? In patience and perseverance we strive to please God and little by little we get to recognise His will and in all humility we realize how foolish we are to rest on our own understanding. 🙏☦️

    Thank you Fr. I put my hand to the plough and looked back. I now realise that this Orthodox way is not like Protestantism, I can't just change my mind and change it back at will. Now I am afraid that I will not work when asked to work. The edges of my hole elude me, it feels like I can't climb out, it appears the decree of the Lord prevents my return to the plough for I am double unworthy.

    If you can do a teaching on the Christian Identity & Covenant Identity movements this would be very helpful.

    I've discovered that this idea of wanting to know God's will in every single thing we do in the world, even those outside our salvation, is a remnant of modern mentality of constantly hustling and progressing, so we tell ourselves "God will tell us how to hustle and progress within the secular world so he can work through us to reveal himself to people" but i think this is something we have to shake off. There's a pride and a conceit there that is probably actually a danger to our salvation and therefore an actual danger to others salvation as well.

      Not to mention, God is constantly revealing himself to us all without anyone's assistance. Foolish as we are, we choose to turn away and hide.

    How often do Church functions break down and become dysfunctional, VS operating as intended?
    Even the Apostles had a traitor among their ranks, Judas Iscariot.

    • @acekoala457
      @acekoala457 Рік тому +7

      Individuals do not determine the Sanctity of the Whole Church. The Church will continue existing.
      Many heretics were Bishops, Priests, Deacons in the Historical Church.
      Judas was a Bishop for Christ yet still betrayed Him. The Church didn't fall apart.
