It's such a simple, simple song (I'm not surprised it didn't win) but sung with such power from Keala and enthusiasm from the chorus singers that it is incredibly uplifting. People from all walks of life see themselves in the lyrics. I think it's fabulous.
But at least it won a Golden Globe :)

i watch this video all the time, i cry every time. the power in this room is off the charts - my understanding is a studio head went up to her after and said "i don't know who you are but you have just booked your first movie" they were also greenlit, not sure if it was after this by Keala or when Hugh Jackman sang. both are such powerful emotional performances - Thank you for sharing your reaction with us, it is the same as mine everytime I watch this.

For me the best performance to date...even though not technically perfect...was emotionally perfect ..her Oscars performance...that was awesome
This is a song that so many people can identify with, in so many different ways. Maybe you had a time when you felt that the world was against you. If you have never felt that, I envy you. But, if you have, this song and performance must bring tears to your eyes,. I've never seen so much musical energy in a room. Emotionally, it's even better than the scene in the movie. To have been there would have been an indescribable gift.
I love watching her sing because she reminds me of my mom and all I can say is that I truly love my mother.

I get goose bumps every time i listen to this song its so powerful. The bit that really gets me in that video is when Keala holds Hughs hand.
The way everyone came to life after the first verse is amazing. Keala is an incredible singer and this whole soundtrack never fails to make me feel good.

The first time I listened to this was in my car driving to work at 4am. I was so overwhelmed I had to pull over before crashing my car into something for not being able to see through the tears. Totally unexpected reaction.

Im a 40 yr old father of 3, an electrical engineer and own my own gaming studio....Every bit a "man's man"....and let me tell ya, ive watched this probably 100 times and STILL gets me. I cry like a baby every single time. Great heartfelt reaction bud!
This song is so amazing, such emotion, makes me cry every time, to hear you say you don't want to see it? You really should give it a shot, it's so amazing, the sound track on it's own is better than the movie, but it is still so incredible.

You made the right choice in not waiting, this song is my favorite, I love her dearly and i love listening to this every day, my fiance took me to see this when it was at our local theater and i fell in love with it, Hugh did such an incredible job with it, he is so dedicated to everything he does, it really shows with every shot, more so with his song " From now on" same location as this, if you watch it, you'll understand what i mean with how much he loved this movie.

This right here is what great music can do. I love that so many of us can identify to this and it runs so many different emotions: from powerful and uplifting to taking us back to those times in our lives where we feel like the outcasts or on looked down by others for whatever reason and remembering what we've been through and come from. It all happens at once in this song and it is powerful. I couldn't stop playing this song when I first heard it. Great reaction vid. Great to see so many people from all over have very similar reactions. This is a beautiful song that connects to the human condition and spirit.

Yep, exactly my reaction when I first saw this! I must have watched it like a million times recently! I love this film and I've not even actually seen it yet!! It's been out at the cinema here in the UK since Christmas and they are still showing it.

This is for everyone that has ever been "different". It is my anthem now, as I suffer from depression, anxiety, PTSD, and low self esteem. My favorite line..."There's nothing I'm not worthy of." I hold tight to that as I push through the very rough sea of life. We are already worthy. Now we must be brave enough to throw off the weight of the anchor and boldly find the shore.
