Gotta say this. Hugh Jackman was my childhood hero, still is my hero. But I’ve gushed about Hugh many times. I’m here to gush about Zendaya. Being a man in his twenties, I’d never heard of her until she was cast in Spider-Man. I’ve only ever seen her in Spider-Man and I’m not a fan of her music, although I think if she made some soul music, I’d buy that. My point is, in the last year I’ve only ever seen Zendaya the actor in one film where she had eight lines. In the last few months I’ve started to really admire her. I have a niece and for years I’ve been complaining that all these celebrities are terrible role models. Then here comes Zendaya, such an incredible role model. If I were a kid, she’d be my hero. A great role model not just for kids too, but everyone. Hugh Jackman will forever mean an awful lot me, having no father around and no male influence, I really looked to him to see how to be a man. But what Zendaya represents, I think the next generation has an even better hero to look up to. Here’s hoping she never changes and only evolves and that parents encourage their kids to idolise her and not others that I think are negative influences. I won’t mention them because I know a lot of people will get mad, but here’s what they rhyme with, Sardashian, Paylor Twift and Gaty Jerry.
