@@ItsLiuLmao I mean, take it from this perspective.. You're a priest that realized the two boys you originally dismissed need some genuine guidance. You find out that they are also supporting a literal demon. Their parents? drinking. Realizing this, while also being exhausted from the work you had to do today, would make someone really cranky
TBF he didn't really do anything but have fun with the kids before being left halfway stuck in a Ouija board for a couple of years in the attic and was unintentionally killed by the kids when he possessed the exterminator to get payback on them for being abandoned.
Honestly, I felt kinda bad for the Priest after he got that reaction from the kids when he exorcised Molluk back to hell, because they didn’t understand the danger of what Molluk was doing to everyone including themselves and genuinely thought he was their friend. And the Priest didn’t even take their anger personal, he just limped back to his church without even looking for thanks, despite his injuries. He was honestly a great character for real throughout the entire episode. I also like how this episode gave the boys actual character substance with relatable issues such as complicated parent and child dynamics. All in all this episode was a solid 10/10 in my book.
So sad he prolly got killed by the Eldritch altho I'm so hyped the actually brought him back I was waiting for Pelo to finally bring him since he hasn't been here since episode 2
I like how this show continues showing that Pump and Skid aren't terrible children. They need to be more trusting and a bit overzealous. They want to have fun like any kid does. They're also not stupid; they notice things. They feel like burdens to their parents, which is something a lot of kids feel.
They were never terrible tho They just werent taught what is bad they think that everything is fine and no consequences they dont even realize they are in danger because they didnt know any social ques
“Your parents love you kids. No matter what.” “But if they love me why they’re never here..?” THE PERSONAL AND INTERNALS LACERATIONS I JUST FELT TO MY HEART.
I really love how the priest is written. He is almost expected to be an arrogant antagonist but he's a actually surprisingly good intended. Really like the spin this serie does on the way the characters are.
@@HEIDBDIDJDBDUEKENSBEEyeah once he seemed to feel bad about asking where's skid father i realized he's a nice guy. i really love him as a character, he truly feels mature and tries to do the right thing.
I love how the priest is ACTUALLY serious about what he does, and how he managed to put moloch back to hell, but its very sad he was just captured by cults...
He didn't manage to put him back to hell, look again at the scene before the credits. We see a PoV shot of Moloch about to try to possess the (already possessed) mannequin in the attic.
My theory is that those from the sect want Skip to be like his father, a member of the sect, that's why they had to get the father out of the way because he interfered with that plan.
I love Gregor's character depth- all throughout he is both an all-too-serious and judgy old man who is heavy-handed and too strict with the children, but when it comes down to it he very much genuinely cares about them and all his fellow man and is willing to risk his life and tank demon bites to protect the town and do his job. And we see at the end that he gets next to no appreciation for genuinely good advice to Lila. He's not a one-note character you can write off as all good or all bad, but the summation of all his best and worst traits is ultimately that he cares for others and is serious about his faith. Hope to see him resist Eyes's influence later and await rescue
He sounds like the kind of pastor/priest I'd want, not the one I have. He's a bit.. "How do you do fellow kids?" kinda way, which isn't the best when you wanna ask them for advice, because you perceive them to be not as wise (I hope this makes sense)
@@synsvidsThis character is actually one of the best depictions in media i ever daw of how the ideal priest should act according to Christianity. Rigid when needed, soft when possible, faithfull to the teachings but forgiving for the sins of others... man, if only i found more people like him to teach me literally how to live...
No seriously Gregor's a great character and an interesting foil to Skid and Pump. Skid and Pump are friendly but easily manipulated to a dangerous degree, while Gregor's extremely strict, but resilient in his faith for the good of everyone. He's honestly the hero this town needs.
Fun Fact: Moloch is a real demonic entity from old Jewish folklore. People used to sacrifice their firstborn children to him by igniting the interior of Moloch's statue/furnace and burning them inside of it. It became such a problem that according to the Bible it came to a point where they had to make a law to stone anyone they found doing this. The fact that Moloch in this animation is a furnace demon is as accurate as it is scary. Happy Spooky Month Everybody :)
Don't forget the fact that even for the people in those times this was absolutely atrocious because of the screams, it is rumoured this kind of worship still lingers among the few powerful elite and wealthy
@@Ralseeei mean, there is a chance that skid and pump carry curses with them considering all the supernatural stuff they're involved in, one probably stuck to the shop
@@denysvision They never said he WASN'T a good kid. They mean "growth" as in he's realizing that he and pump can't just go around causing trouble for other people just because they want to have fun. Not saying they were doing it on purpose or anything, but still; that's character growth.
I love how Spooky Month just started as a joke and now is a good serie, but the thing that just got me was the fact that this is the first time that I almost cry on this
You, the guy who made El Dia Del Payaso, have no right to bring me to the verge of tears. This was spectacularly written and animated, and though I’m not entirely sure why I made myself wait until the day of Halloween to actually watch this, it was worth the wait in full. Spectacular work, Pelo!
While Father Gregor was rough in his approach, you could really tell he genuinely wanted to help and protect the kids, even if Skid and Pump took the message he was trying to give the wrong way a bit, partially his own fault for being so blunt and unmoving. He doesn't have the social grace, the demeanor, or tact to talk to kids about this sort of thing in a way that really communicates what he wants to impart. He didn't even realize his guidence was a little too straightforward for ones as well meaning and innocent as Skid and Pump to get fully. Being kids, they thought they needed to be forgiven, else they wouldn't be loved by their parents or that bad things would happen, when all Father Gregor wanted was for them to behave so they wouldn't get hurt or worry their parents. He wanted them to apologize, and move on (words like "forgiveness" are really easy for a kid to latch onto and worry about). Father Gregor knows how sacred the bond between a parent and their child is and cares about it deeply himself and for them, and that's why he, albeit far too rigidly, stayed by their side to try and encourage them to be kinder and to help them build a better understanding of the world. While his approach may not be what works best for Skid and Pump, it was a lesson the kids had to learn eventually. Also, Lila 100% needed to hear that, and Father Gregor was probably the only one willing to say it so upfront. I really like Father Gregor and hope to see him again.
I'm really happy someone was able to express my own thoughts on the man, I also hope he isn't dead, or indoctrinated into the cult of the star eye eldritch being.
@@Kallai-Esuriant-Lorekeeper unlike Moloch, Eyes doesn't seem very hostile, and plus, in the title cards he is seen up in "heaven" and his head looks like a cloud somewhat. I think Priest will be apart of the cult now, but not dead.
So refreshing to see a priest character actually not be portrayed as a creep, I understand its a prevalent issue but I'm glad I started rooting for him.
Yeah, that scenes where he was fighting the demons were so badass, but also glad he kinda called out Lila’s behavior because negligence leads to consequences.
This series is absolutely amazing, it's a perfection, i'd say! It all started as a joke, but outcame into something really deep and emotional. I like how it showed the "good" characters' bad characteristics (like Lila) and the "bad" characters good characteristics (like Frank or Roy). And also its really cool storyline about the kids-parents relationships. Skid's mom is not a bad mom, she just prefers not to solve her problems and cover her anxiety and sadness with alcohol, and that Pump feels lonely without the help and guidance from his parents, they both feel like they're a bargain for their parents, and actually most children in these kind of situations think about it in this way, like they are the trouble. I really am into this fandom for almost 1,5 year, and I really am obsessed with this show. Pelo, I'd like to say it: you're the best youtuber, animator and voice actor!!!
This was a rather depressing episode… For whatever reason, Skid and Pump crying over the death of Moloch, never realizing that Moloch was never their friend or how dangerous the demon was, really hit me hard. Not to mention ending the episode with the implication that Pump’s parents seemingly don’t care about their children, and Lila feeling like an inadequate parent, yeesh, feels bad man…. Great episode, though! Well worth the wait!
@@sablyptical perhaps I’m exaggerating or looking too deeply into Mr. Wonder getting Pump a gift claiming it’s from his parents, but the fact that even when Pump and Susie try to call them they don’t answer (as Pump said in episode 4) doesn’t paint the best picture of them, at least in my eyes.
@@matthewbankey5547 Even in Quotev fanfictions about Spooky Month I read, Pump's parents' seem monsters! For example, in "The monster in my closet" (A FNF corruption mod ff), when Skid and Pico shows to his parents' that even tought he's corrupted he's not that dangerous, they just reject him without doubts! Or in "The little lost pumpkin", they don't care at all even when he escapes from home to find a new perfect family! Also, read them, they're amazing stories, even if they're not finished.

@@EnigmaticGentleman To be fair, it's not like they said it was unique. Just that it was their favorite. People like vanilla too, y'know. That kind of stuff.
As I went back to watch this episode, I kept looping that very last scene with Skid and his mom. With how well they really got across the message of Skid and Lila's relationship. A (somewhat newly) widowed woman and her kid who's father died. And how skid is a confused little kid who see's his mother struggle and try to take care of her kid alone for the first time, and he recognizes her stress and grief, and tries to be less of a burden to her. This episode especially really shows how he just wants to be better for his mom since his dad's passing, and seeing her just break down as her kid tries to fix a situation that he hasn't truly grasped because of how young he is, is really heartbreaking. And I honestly identify with it a little myself. Also seeing in the background of that final scene shows how even though the house is more cluddered and messy than ever really shown, it feels far more lifeless and empty than when it was clean. The lighting and how the cludder was organized in the backdrop really expresses that well. With the family pictures dangling from their hangers and desks pushed over. I honestly dont know how you guys did it so well. I probably repeated alot of things, and i know i didnt get my thoughts across well, but bear with me. Most beautiful episode by far.
I know everyone is talkinv about Father Gregor and the other funny moments but seeing Roy's friends supporting him and saying they're there for him whenever they come back on screen is so sweet of them😭😭😭
@@erzecaI have a feeling it’s about Roy confessing about his trauma with his creepy uncle back in episode 2 It’s implied he might have been S/A by his uncle And he did not know it was wrong to trick Skid and Pump into going to the cult house where the uncle was waiting
Moloch is the perfect villain for this series, He pretty much seems like the physical embodiment of evil and despair. The fact that Sr Pelo went so far as to use real life accuracy with his character is real dedication! HUGE Props to Pelo!
I love how Pelo has come full circle. He has constantly been trying to push the envelope of absurdity, and now he's pushed it so far that the most absurd thing he could produce is something more down to earth with a coherent story structure.
It’s just like what MatPat said about the entertainment industry not even just about fashion and music. (Not exact quote, but something like…) “In order to keep people engaged and enthusiastic about your projects, it's essential to adapt and evolve. Otherwise, you risk becoming irrelevant and losing their interest.”
This one really made me realize the severity of Skid and Pumps actions. While before everything happening felt like “What wacky scenario will they get into next” but now we’re seeing the harm they’re really causing
Granted, I feel like in some cases the cult is more so to blame for the effects of their actions being quite as extreme as they are, like while Dexter may have still died, I'm pretty sure there's some things implying it was the cult's work that led to his soul being trapped in the Happy Fella after
@@mariotuber2866 didn’t want to make the original comment too long but I was mostly referring to them summoning Moloch. That caused some characters to die or get harmed, and it’s even worse knowing now that Dexter could have lived from the possession but they told Moloch to turn their head around which snapped his neck. If Father Gregor didn’t exercise them when Skid and Pump voluntarily got possessed, that likely would’ve been it for them. Besides Moloch though, the most they’ve done is just mischief (not counting them causing the death of Roy’s Uncle cause I consider that a good thing). As for Dexter’s Soul I thought that maybe his soul got lost somehow due to Moloch being in his body when they died, not really sure how that whole possession thing works. If it was the Cults doing then that will slide, if it had something to do with Moloch then that’s another thing to pin on Skid and Pump
Next episode is eyes because In smiling critters skid draw molach possessing skid and pump so eyes would be in the next episode portraying as a antagonist in the 7 sequel
It wasn't just this occasion. In episode 2, her first reaction to seeing them after a home invasion in the middle of the night was "Hey kids, where ya been?" In episode 3, she sent Skid to play with Pump when she was too busy trying to call an exterminator for the "rat" she could've dealt with herself. In episode 5, she let the kids go trick-or-treating completely unsupervised. And of course, in just about every episode, she has no issues with the two going out alone by themselves at night.
Gotta love how we see both perspectives here. She just wanted to relax this time cause her life has been really stress inducing. Murderers, weirdos, burglars, living dolls lusting for blood... ALL of that. And this time she returns home only to be met with her kid (and Pump) crying and some random priest scolding her for being an irresponsible mother. That's a huge punch in the gut. I think father Gregor only assumed certain things (like her drinking regularly which we know isn't the truth).
To the person who made this whole series, this is very emotional series and it’s so funny! Please keep on making these vids. I was sobbing at the end when the grandpa bought the gift 🎁
I just want to note how aware skid and pump are getting of just everything their experiencing. Pump would be happy to have his parents not pickup the phone as he could get away with stuff in ep 4, and he’s becoming more disappointed not being able to see his parents. And skid is becoming more aware of how harsh his dad’s passing is affecting Lila and himself. It’s just a nice (and sad) development of the two.
I love Father Gregor because of the fact that he’s very concerned about the kids and actually seems like a good guardian. I love when priests are cool and wise. Like Father Garcia (though he’s cool for a separate reason).

i might have already commented this but i really appreciate that father gregor isn't just a stereotypical evil/creepy priest nor is he a perfect idol of a person. he's not doing *that* great a job by feeding the kids' insecurities and degrading lila, but it does seem like his intentions of helping and protecting the kids are genuine. i like that a lot. i'm tired of people ignoring the fact that religious officials of all kinds are still human beings.

@@Binky1234Skid has been on encounters with demons, possessed dolls, serial killers/cannibals and met Eldritch beings, where is the responsible? I'm not saying Lila is a bad mother, but the priest has a point,it just keeps happening
I definitely like how the whole “Lila is negligent” plot is written. Whenever she’s stressed or Skid asks something serious, she distracts him with inviting him to see Pump. She lets him leave for the day without asking questions, and this happens. She is the reason Moloch, Eyes, and the Happy Fella were released.
And you can kinda sympathize with her because she's a single mom raising a hyperactive child. At least Skid has Pump to hang out with. I was kinda the same when I was little. I'm autistic and most likely have ADHD, so my mom had a hell of a time raising me, and I think I got a kind of avoidance relationship with her
I never say this pop up in my feed, so I saved it to watch this year for Halloween late in the evening. It brought me to tears and this story keeps getting better
I do love that the church and priest aren’t displayed in a negative light but isn’t portrayed as a perfect place/guy with no flaws. Father Gregor is human and rightfully calls out Lila for not watching her kid. I don’t think Pelo is religious so it’s nice to see him still respect other’s religions. Especially since the church is right, the holy water does work and Father Gregor successfully exorcized moloch multiple times. Good job Pelo, no notes.
Im christian and I was expecting it to be like a goofy and bad portrayal of the priest but Im actually really glad it wasnt like that and pelo did a good job.
That scene with the illusion of Dexter and his mom hits so hard. It's such an intense moment, it shows Father Gregors resilience so well, and it feels like another reminder that despite Skid and Pump being well meaning kids having fun, their actions have unintentionally ruined lives.
Really loved the episode. I especially love how the priest was depicted. He was doing something good just for the sake of good, even if it got others upset. Even withvLyla, he was just being brutally honest eith how he viewed how she was acting, even though he didn't understand her. ❤
The priest was a GOAT the whole episode, stayed attached to his believes, was competent and responsable and never gived up his hope just to save the town in the name of the Lord. One of the best character adittions I've ever seen in a show.
I dunno, I don't like how he treated Mr kidnapper. Granted, his suspicions WERE right, but he wouldn't let them go with him even when skid and pump explained they know the guy? Because it's oh so much safer to go with an adult you don't know? Bit iffy
@@justaperson4656this is a universe where there are exactly 2 police officers in the entire city. I feel like you’re thinking too much about it when we ultimately know he’s right.

Father Gregor is actually weirdly really cool. Normally the priest characters in horror stories are insane, either being elitist and condemning everyone or mistaking the monster for the true god. But Gregor is actually just a genuinely good man who wants to help people. He's a little old fashioned, but I can't help but like the guy.
I really love how badass Father Gregor is. He really tried to get Skid and Pump to Not Be a Danger to Society for an episode, and make them apologise to the people they already bothered. I mean like, the guy saw a person, literally possessed by a freaking demon. Didn't panic, layed out the priorities - first get the children out of there. He even made sure that the kiddos would be safe with the police officers while he is gone. After that without any hesitation the man went right back in to the demon and started fighting it, not letting it speak nor do anything while he gets it out of the girl's body. Because the two dummies came back he really made sure to protect them, so they don't get hurt and the demon doesn't get to them. After Moloch literally broke through a wall and escaped, the guy with the same nonchalance went out Chasing him around town with no regard for his own safety, only for the safety of people around him. He was able to stay calm even when the demon babies bit him Multiple times in the leg, and made sure to get the demon out of them. And after all that, with a wounded leg he still chased Moloch into the attic and banished it from this world. He's like literally The most heroic person in the entire show.
Also I believe Father Gregor is relatively new in town which is why most of the residents don't recognize him. The town probably needed someone like Father Gregor in town, which is probably why the cult took him out. The mayor probably hired the two hobos to destroy the church after kidnapping Gregor. To also really add to what you said, Father Gregor after getting rid of Moloch didn't stick around to get praise, he went straight back to the church to heal himself up. As he probably figured his work in town was just starting.
Well yeah but then he accused Lila of being a bad mom for drinking when it seems the reason she was so stressed to need a drink was the paranoia she gained after the events of tender treats I mean she did install an alarm after that and sure it’s not like father gregor knew of bob velseb or the other times skid and pump were in danger but still he was such a dick towards Lila without knowing the full story
It's a good detail that Lila was all drunken sounding towards Father Gregor but quickly became genuine once she noticed Skid. Makes us know the surprise and urgancy.
The Father was the MVP of the episode, and it makes me sad how his relationship with Skid and Pump deteriorated with the episode even though he was doing the right thing all the time, even though in the end it sadly seems like he died.
Hope he aint dead. Idk what it is about priests and religious folk goin after monsters with no fear and all courage that gets me so hyped, but i love it.
I like father Gregor when he is trying to remove the demon but skid and pump join by singing 🎵"the power of the Lord compels you, the power of Lord compels you"🎵

@MEGAknight3419 nah bro, he burned down John's house and possibly killed John's daughter. The only reason he hasn't attacked the kids is probably because he knows the cult can use them
Same. Lila is definitely flawed, but it's clear that she geniuenely cares about her son and tries to make life as normal as can be in the little hell hole that they live in for him. It really hurts a bit as the viewer too cuz we know that Lila isn't a regular drinker and we've seen all her effort.
25:39 I LOVE THIS SCENE BRO. i like how Grandpa decided to buy a toy for Pump after seeing him sad of parents not being there, i love how Pump reacts to the toy when it changed his mood as if it changed his life, and im pretty sure Pump would react like "woah, cool. anyway Last week-" if he wasnt told that this toy were sent from his parents. perfect scene showing how Pump misses them...
The way Lila immediately cries shows how drunk she was, most of the time people hold it in for atleast more than 5 seconds. It also could be she’s just really heart broken, but when she didn’t cry at parts where she also should’ve earlier in the episode.
@@susancubello1340 I think she cried less because of she was drunk, more of how she saw how Skid was being effected by her acting like this, and she felt shame because she couldn't stay strong for her child, and now he was blaming himself because of that
This episode was insane- the fact that they were nice to an Eldritch god once and now they're under it's divine protection is just so indescribable ?? 😭
I think it implies that the eldritch god is divine? the end card shows the priest flying upwards where the eldritch god is while still holding onto his cross. also he kneeled down in awe infront of it. very interesting honestly.
@@jessesobel7448 its more so implied, especially with pumps blue eyes being a badge of sorts for it, he can see things other people cant, combine that with the odd amount of conveniences that usualy keep them out of harms way after there encounter with eyes, its certainly something to think about, but definitely not proven completely yet
@@georgeholstein5230also when the father turn moloch into stone he says “The lord, The son, The divine soul, and the Sacred Sky” That could imply that Stars being in the sky could have something to do with the Fathers religion. Maybe I’m reading too much into it tho
The fact that moloch had to personally ask the children in order to enter their bodies just shows how fucking powerful skid and pump actually are. Like with the nurse patty and candy Kevin guy he just kinda jumped in, but with the two kids he had to ask. Think about it, he could’ve entered the kids bodies five episodes ago, but he didn’t. The only times he can is during this episode, when they let him in.
If I had to guess, it's because of the fact that they were the ones who summoned him, so they are in control of him to an extent. That's why he expressly needs permission to possess them, whereas everyone else is free reign.
@@spoopertrooper2726 I think it might also have something to do with Eyes, seeing as how Pump naturally glows after their encounter. As if embued with eldritch power.
I love Pump constantly knowing more about demons than Skid but only when his eyes are teal due to influence from The Eyes of the Universe and only in the context of how Pump would normally interpret information. He’s not “more knowledgeable” or “all-knowing”, he’s being shown everything and interpreting it himself. Like, Pump knows Moloch didn’t escape, and he looks over at Skid happily when he says they brought Moloch here, but he then he looks confused or annoyed or sorta judgemental (I am not good at judging facial expressions in the slightest. Especially because his head is a pumpkin) as if he’s assuming Skid also knows this stuff.
Hold on, considering how the Eyes of the Universe seems to allow people to identify demons and turn their eyes blue, what qualifies the power to identify them? Like, we see the Hatzgang’s reaction being similar to Pump’s, yet why don’t they have this skill set in later episodes? And how come Skid doesn’t have this ability either?
@@Dip-Star-1489 Well, when they first meet Eyes, Skid is acting normal, meanwhile Pump is very visibly shaking and terrified, not speaking up until Eyes mentions “showing them the end”, when Pump interupts to ask if he means Spooky Month. Eyes then of course gets distracted by it being Spooky Month because ealier episodes showcased Spooky Month being something everyone did just like Skid and Pump until later episodes zoomed out a lot from Skid and Pump’s perspectives and showed more of the whole world rather than just them. This to me implies either Skid did something in the past that makes him immune or that Pump did something to make him different. That being said, only like 2 characters have successfully scared Skid and Pump, so it is quite notable that Skid seemed to have no reaction to Eyes where as Pump had a much stronger reaction to Eyes than most other characters so far. In this episode, we see Pump’s eyes visibly change when around Moloch because he knows at a glance that it’s Moloch. At 14:33, we can see Pump’s eyes are normal. Then, as soon as he sees Moloch, his eyes turn teal. As soon as he’s escorted out of the room by Father Gregor, his eyes turn normal again. When he comes back into the room with Moloch, his eyes turn teal again. They KNOW Moloch. They KNOW what he is. Everyone else seems to not treat Moloch like a real demon. The Hatzgang seem to not KNOW what Moloch is. Ross and Robert seem at least SCARED of Moloch, but at the same time it’s not like they see him as an actual demon, it’s on the same level of fear as when they met Bob. Edit: Also, Pump says Eyes showed HIM the stars, not THEM, so only Pump saw whatever Eyes wanted to show them. Edit 2: Also, I just remembered Pump’s eyes also turn teal in Spooky Month 5 right after Bob dies for the first time. On top of that, Bob’s eyes turn teal right before he gets shot, and they stay like that for the rest of the episode. Edit 3: Just remembered Pump’s eyes ALSO turn teal when he’s hiding under Susie’s bed to scare her, assuming that WAS genuinely just Pump pranking her and not something more sinister. I… don’t know to feel about that. Edit 4: I just remembered only Pump could see that Moloch was possessing Dexter, and how Skid didn’t believe him because Moloch wouldn’t pick a host so lame and not red. He was also the only one who figured out that Happy Fella was possessed, although I don’t think he ever mentions Dexter as the possessor specifically. Edit 5 (Man that’s a lot of Edits): I also just wanna point out that in this episode, when heading to the church and trying to guess what’s inside, Skid guesses a ghost and turns into a ghost, Pump guesses a hanged corpse and pulls out a noose and hangs himself, nothing out of the usual. Pump has teleported and they have both come back from the dead before. Skid then guesses it’s a cult, putting on a very normal looking robe that isn’t at all close to the real cult robes, imlying he knows nothing about them. Pump then guesses it’s Eyes. He doesn’t transform. This is concerning.
I really appreciate how most of the characters in this series are just trying to do their best. Father Gregor wasn’t really a _great_ influence on the kids, but he saw that they were in pain and tried to help them in his own flawed way. Lila isn’t a great mother, but she’s going through a lot and really does care about her kid and _wants_ to be a better mom.
He wasnt a "great" influence to them? Bro wdym lol he literally was teaching them the dangers of wandering off at night in a not so safe Town while also protecting them FROM DEMONS and trying to make them a BETTER person. @@tuperro2402 I mean, he fully played into the idea that the reason their parents weren't spending time with them was because they weren't "good" enough for those parents. That's basically the entire conversation they had with the two cops. I'm not necessarily saying he did that intentionally, but he still did it and intentions matter less than consequences. That's why I said he tried to help them in his own flawed way, trying to help doesn't mean succeeding but trying is still commendable. I've got nothing against him for being religious, I personally think people like to scapegoat religions throughout the world for things that are caused by materialistic greed.
@@archsteel7playing into the idea would require him to constantly use it to make them strive for forgiveness. The main point of the trip was to let them into the church, which Pump told the cops. The part that stuck with Skid in that whole conversation tho was the part about his parents, but that doesn’t mean that was the focal point Father Gregory WANTED them to take away from it.
Moloch is an incredible stand in for the type of folk that children and young people without proper parental figures get involved with and ruin their lives with.
I really love how this series really gets into the ways a child would think. Kids aren't that scared of monsters, but they are terrified of their parents not loving them... Edit: Apparently I was an outlier thinking monsters were cool as opposed to scary when I was a kid...

25:58 this part genuinely made me cry just seeing the both cry plus skids mom not even expecting skid to apologize and thus cry just genuinely made me go into tears aswell
17:32 I love how there is a single frame where Father Gregor looks at Patty with a worried expression. He may be intense and serious, but he genuinely cares and that is very sweet.
So this episode’s sub theme was definitely parental neglect on both Skid and Pump’s end and as much as I like Lila, I think she needed to hear that from Father Gregor and hopefully she’s gonna prioritize Skid more. But one thing that I don’t see anyone talking about is how they handled the more “controversial” side of the church and it’s morals. It is refreshing that the priest wasn’t a creep but I’m glad that the episode didn’t shy away from still criticizing how Christianity handles “forgiveness”, how not everyone is going to forgive you, how the mentality that “you should always apologize even when you were the one hurt” can be a harmful mentality to have. And then there’s the whole mentality that you have to be “good” for your parents to love you. Despite the priest having good intentions, he put it into Skid and Pump’s minds that the way they are now would cause their parents to not love them when it reality, they are (or should be) loved as they are. And then there’s the whole commentary on priests taking in children and (kinda indoctrinating) them at a young age. I can’t blame some of the towns folk for being skeptical about Father Gregor following Skid and Pump cus….it looks weird lol. And of course then there’s the SLIGHT demonization of Halloween with that comment on Skid and Pump’s costumes. So overall, while not a completely terrible person, Father Gregor does still has flaws but I think that makes him a really solid character.
I'm just glad Sr Pelo didn't make the priest the uptight, overly-religious guy that's a common Christian stereotype but that like everyone, we got good things about us just yeah we have flaws Sure, as a real Christian We shouldn't be judgmental which I admit he was a little bit but at least he trys to lend a caring hand in the right direction if I got that right. I feel like something about Jesus might fit in the well but I'm still growing as a child of a God And anyone who is a spiritual Christian who's a bit experienced, feel free to talk to me but still Happy Easter! He is risen!
I personally think flawed characters are indefinitely more interesting than ones without any major flaws. Father Gregor was raised in a different environment and comes from an older different generation of people, so his view on the world is going to differ heavily from others. He's got strengths in some areas and flaws in others, which makes him feel very believable! My grandfather was a Catholic Bishop before he passed and it was always interesting hearing how he viewed the world. While obviously not a 1:1 Father Gregor still reminds me of him at times, especially when he tried to give advice for Skid and Pump at the start.
Sobre los disfraces de Halloween El dice eso pero después lo ignora posiblemente por qué ENTIENDE que no están familiarizados con El Cristianismo o son solamente niños

You’d expect all 3 of the older boys to be bullying Skid and Pump, but no, only Roy was. That really stood out to me. A simple and effective way to make them more complex characters.
I know! I love how Ross and Robert started out as just bullies, but it sort of seems like the more they got to know Skid and pump it almost seems like they're friends. It's kind of wholesome. And Roy deserved that punch SO MUCH
@@h3artzz_f0r.g00b i'm not only talking about the bullying, he tried to get Skid and Pump into stuff with his uncle, he's stolen Candy, and he's just a straight up jerk.
Doesn't justify it though. Yes, him being punched by Ross was definitely not needed but just because his parents are neglectful, doesn't mean bullying little kids is okay.

Fun Fact: Moloch is a real demonic entity from old Jewish folklore. People used to sacrifice their firstborn children to him by igniting the interior of Moloch's statue/furnace and burning them inside of it.

I definitely like how the whole “Lila is negligent” plot is written. Whenever she’s stressed or Skid asks something serious, she distracts him with inviting him to see Pump. She lets him leave for the day without asking questions, and this happens. She is the reason Moloch, Eyes, and the Happy Fella were released.
that is a good point. I never really thought about Lilas role in the events of the series

So,Eyes is an Eldritch god?
how exactly were they under divine protection?
Also, the only time moloch was able to physically hurt the priest and make him bleed is when he used the kids as a vessel.
He had a literal nurse with medicinal equipment under his control, but he still couldn’t harm the priest until he had the kids in his grasp.
