Word of advice.....I have a similar coop and found the pull out drawer was rusting due to waste products. I used vinyl self adhesive shelf liner to cover the meta pull out drawer and found cleaning is a breeze and the metal is well protected.
That is a great tip, it will come in handy. Thank you!
I have been watching your videos. I am totally hooked on them. Love the dogs and critters. You have an amazing place.
Thank you so much! We are very happy here.
I found this video very helpful. I have a very small backyard but I would like to have a couple, three, four chickens. I have raised garden beds and I think this would work for the corner space I have. I would love the fertilizer and the eggs! My hubby is like Nate, very handy with tools and enjoys projects. This is also very reasonably priced to start with chickens. Thanks so much for sharing and getting me dreaming, lol.
Glad you found this helpful, I think these are great for backyard chickens, you may want to consider netting or something to keep them out of your raised garden beds because they will make a mess of it if they get access.
I’ve seen a lot of people use this chicken coop and have been very happy. Good until you can get them a bigger coop. Good luck✌️🇺🇸
Yes, we will be needing something larger and more perm long term but this works for where we are right now.
@The Kraemer Life if you are into easy assemble coops and in the future want something sturdy and will last, I highly recommend overez chicken coops. Only thing I had to change up on those coops is add extra ventilation. It's pricy but it has lasted me for years so far!
The dogs were wonderful site bosses on this build. 🤣🥰
Yes, they keep us working hard, lol.
@@TheKraemerLife 🤣
That is a nice coop for the price. It looks really cute. Hopefully the girls will start using it and make your life easier.
It is a nice looking coop. They use it for the nesting boxes but still prefer to sleep in the trees if they get the option.
Great starter coop.
I think it is a good backyard coop for sure.
Its wonderful i love the coop its so good to see you using it
🧡
That is a nice chicken coop, you did a great job on showing us how it is put together. Your house and property has really come along ways and looing great.😮
so great video. love it so much. Thank you so much for your sharing.
Looks like the one "Simple life Reclaimed" got.. or very similar. Their kids help with cleaning, and for those smaller folks it looks great, but for taller adults, a lot of bending down. But it's definitely a sturdy design that protects the birds.
Yes, it is very similar to the one they have and a great starter or smaller coop for sure. We will need to upgrade but for now the chickens use it as it is intended.
Beautiful coop! Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Great review you two!
Thank you kindly!
Nice little coop
Enjoyed watching you two work together making the assembly go fast and look pretty easy. Makes me sort of want one in my big back yard! 😊
Yes, we thought of you and this would be a good coop for 2 or 3 back yard chickens.
I ordered this as a training coop for my pullets as a grow home until big enough to join the main coop. I plan on placing this coop underneath a canopy for sun and rain protection in order to make it last. Great video and presentation!
Great coop! Happy spring and summer to you both. Love your channel. ❤️😁🌹
Thank you! You too!
Great job guys 😘👍🏻💕
Thank you 🤗
Thank you for sharing
Have a great weekend
Thank you too
❤❤
Good evening Nate & Katie
Nice coop
My chickens are free range but this would be good to have for young turkey poults or chicks as they integrate into my flock. Blessings!
We used the last one we got for exactly that. It gave them a safe space around our main flock until they were big enough to be integrated. It worked great and they still sleep in it at night (very cozy).
@@TheKraemerLife thanks for your reply. I subscribed. Have a great weekend 🙂
I have something similar with out the side nesting boxes that was once for rabbits. I turned it into a feeder area for a feral cat and placed a igloo with hole drilled in side for underneath for sleeping area
That is a great idea!
fancy!
Very cute...it's hard to get chickens to move where they sleep...would help to lock them in there for a few days so they have to sleep in there...I think they'll like it and use it then...my chickens kept going back to their old sleeping place...we'd have to catch them & move them into the new chicken pen...I think after 3 nights they just went there on there own...been in there now for 9 ish years
Yes, we have found that if we keep them in the area of their coop for at least 3 nights before releasing them to free range they go back...except the one flock...they prefer the trees and will always go back there if they have the option.
Pretty cool?🎉
Okay
That is just the cutest coop and it really does look sturdy. Thanks for showing it. I hope your hens will be impressed and start laying their eggs in there. Easter egg hunt is fun once a year, not every day. LOL. Have a Blessed day.
They have been going in there to lay but they still prefer to sleep in the trees. They will go in there when it is cold or really raining.
@@TheKraemerLife Amazing. You'd think they would feel safer inside the coop instead of the trees.
Niceee
Thanks 🤗
Does the coop have a door to close it to intruders? I love the idea. Thanks!
🐕🐕
Have you ever watched Gold Shaw farms? He has such a large hoop coop.
He has a pretty large poultry operation on his farm but it would be nice to have something like that in the future. Joel Salatin also has large enclosures like that for his chickens over winter.
🙏🏻❤️😃👍🏻
Put your chickens in coop for couple days then let the out and they will living in it
Hope you're in charge Katie because men don't read instructions
Yes, I was in charge for this build ;)
@The Kraemer Life still love Nate anyways!
I looked at the website of the chicken sheds and do like them for backyard chickens. Just curious how long it will last.
We have two of these. This one we have had for about 2 months and the other one about 4 months. So far they have held up well through the rain and cold.
Would it hold up in desert heat during the summer? Nevada gets up to 117 at times...
Easy enough!!!! 🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🐣✝️🙏✌️😎👍
You're going to want to waterproof and calk 🤭
cute but too many steps lol have a great weekend hugssssssss
Yes, they said it was a pop up and no tools required...didn't turn out that way.
How do you move it?
For short distances, Nate and I can pick it up and move it but for a longer distance we used a dolly.
Where did you buy this coop?
Online, link is in the description...company is Aivituvin.
Double yokers on the menu???
We haven't had a double yoke yet
I like you guys but you are becoming one big sponsor commercials. The majority come here for homesteading and the animals not for the typical commercials of TVs. Very disappointed.
For example, the expensive tricycle (worthless on a farm), mattress, coop today and a bunch of other things. We are trying to get away from the money hungry companies and then here you are to the same thing, but with a smile.
Do you know your audience? A big 👎 today.
Totally agree
I appreciate your dislike of sponsored videos and understand that they are not appealing to our entire audience though some do find them helpful. Please know that we are always honest about the products that we share and do not and will not plug products just for money. We are transparent with the title of these types of vlogs so viewers not interested can skip them. The vast majority of our content is and will continue to be about our journey and what we are working on (which is extremely expensive). We are balancing what we want while hoping to provide content that is helpful, informative, and / or entertaining to our viewers.
You are right. I agree with you.
I like your channel a lot. But lately your videos are too short and you only have one video a week. And now you are advertising too many products. It supposed to be a homestead channel not a commercial channel.
We are not a homestead only channel, we are a channel that follows our life and where that takes us. We do have sponsored videos and are transparent with them in the title so if that topic/product doesn't interest you it is easy to skip it. As for the number of videos and length. We are both very busy and vlogs take upwards of 8-10 hours for an 8 min video. Filming also makes every project 3 times as long so we have to balance content and productivity...we strive to make content that is helpful and hopefully entertaining and put out 3 videos a week. We recently started making shorts to add something in but they are just that, shorts.
Came to your channel to watch you develop your new homestead not to see all these sponsorship products so you can make money. Therefore I’m unsubscribing
You will be happy to know we didn't make any money in sponsorship from this video. We like their coops and have two of them.
