It’s the keys making contact with the tonewheels (91 spinning wheels that generate the sound). Hammond organs made up until 1968, pre-date solid state technology so everything inside the B3 is all moving parts and tubes. Hammond considered that “click” to be a defect but jazz musicians (Jimmy smith) used it to their advantage. The B3,C3,A100,Rt3 models are pretty much identical inside.. just different cabinets, extra speakers, pedals. The Leslie speaker he’s playing it through also makes up for 50% of the tone, if not more.
