The powerpack sure were different. I wouldn't use them with modern locomotive though as I would be afraid to damage the locomotives and some electronics that are in them. Mechanism as a whole are also much more efficient in modern model trains compared to the older ones, this is why they can now crawl using very little power.

Yeah, I figured that it would be younger then 2003. I can't say for sure but I think it was new old stock when I acquired it a few years ago.

i got 2 sd 7 from Life Like last year and it takes a lot of power too, maybe they used diffrent power packs back in the days?

I could give you a old bacman e2 I think I dont have a big collection also can you do a vedeo on the near by railway museum
