- A vintage. Model from the end of the 1960s! This E69 made by Lima was first seen in their 1968 catalog.
The version here dates back from 1969. In the following years, it was released in a plethora of liveries and as a starter locomotive in many train sets.
To be that old and be in that shape! not bad at all!
That's part of the reason why I got it! Quite rare to see 1960s locomotive in their box in that condition.
To improve performance on Lima ringfield motors I advise using technical petroleum jelly grease on the gears and on the axle pick-ups and a tiny drop of a mix of technical petroleum jelly and sewing machine oil on the rotor bearings. Technical support jelly grease reduces noise and improves conductivity.
I was made aware that certains petroleum based oils and greases was harmful to plastic components. I use PTFE based lubricant (like Labelle 109) to prevent that.
@@leewaymodels the technical petroleum jelly grease I use doesn't damage plastic and doesn't dry up.
@@patricksmodels good to know. Do you know what brand it is by any chance?
@@leewaymodels It's an Italian brand. CFG Grasso di Vaselina Tecnica. I bought it on Amazon. I've been using it for some time, with excellent results.
Thanks, I'll look into it.
I like it
I can see why, there is something "simple but effective" with that model
@@leewaymodels exactly
If you don't mind me asking what music is in the video
It is called "Sunrise"
@@leewaymodelssadly I can't find it so what's the artist please
Do you have any Canadian locomotives
He does!
Yes I have many of them! Not too different from the American ones though!
How about a Canadian sw8 or a Canadian steam locomotive
I do have something that looks like the SW8 in 027 scale. Just not sure what prototype the model is supposed to represent. It dates back from either the 1940s or 1950s
Can you show it
