Andrew it's always very pleasant to participating in your classes. I've seen so many teachers but you are one of The Greatest English teacher. I'm reviewing all the grammar lessons and I'm enjoying them a lot!
Thanks for every your lesson! Actually, I used to be your student at the language school in Victoria. I'm very happy I can still meet you on UA-cam. I hope I will be able to meet you with the other students soon. again, thank you so much for these awesome lessons.
Hi teacher, I've found your channel recently. I figured out that we use "would always" to indicate a good or bad habite in the past, and we can use "used to" to indicate a fact that we did it in the past. This lesson was great and usefull for me. My father would always give me money as a new year gift. My father used to work as a retailer.
I like your way of teaching and examples that you use for explanation... Thank you sir for selecting this platform to teach the english and make us fluent in writing and speaking...
SamanthaAlsaider FarquharsonHall Like, Watch, and Comment! It will help our beloved teacher to promote this channel! And of course, subscribe, if you haven’t yet 👍🏻
Hi my dear teacher Andrew ! Thanks for your clear explanation ! Here are my sentences : 1- I used to go to school by school bus when I was at secondary school . 2- My mother would always give me a good book on my birthday which made me happy . 3- My father would never allow us watching TV while eating . 4- I have always enjoyed watching Andrew's videos because they are useful for me !🤔🤗 Please take care of yourself on these days to avoid COVID 19 !🤗🤗
Sir thank you so much for ur wonderful lesson.. I do have one doubt that is my mother would take care of my brother and sister... Is in the past but not now....
Yes, that's right. It may mean, however, that your mother still takes cares of you and your sister, it's just that in the story you are focused on the past.
First, please know - you are the absolutely best! Second, Crockie (another admirer of your worlds-class talent) and I have a question for you: This is a short story: My grandma Klara did not like Galia and Bronja. How should I express it in the best way: - she didn’t like both G. and B - she didn’t like either of them - she liked neither of them - something else ? Thank you in advance! 👍🏻
Ronen, I think all of the above are appropriate ways to express this idea, in addition to other ways. For instance, she liked neither G nor B; she didn't care for G or B; G and B were not her favourite people in the world.
Great video. Thank you for taking the time to prepare it for us. I was wondering if it is correct to say 'I used to speak English well when I had that job'. Thanks.
Thanks for checking out the videos! And yes, your example is correct. In fact, you would not want to use 'would always' in this example. 'I would always speak English well when I had that job' is a bad sentence. 'I would always speak English when I had that job' is much better.
Başak Yedikardeş You are right! This is arguably the most comprehensive English Channel on UA-cam. I wish I had more time to watch all those ever uploaded here videos once again.
Hi saravanan s, I'm not sure I understand your question correctly, but I think you are asking what grammar should be used if you had a habit in the past that still continues today. If that's the case, then 'I have always' would be appropriate. For instance, "I have always enjoyed playing tennis" would mean that I played a lot in the past and I still play a lot now. Likewise, "I have always listened to loud rock music" would imply that this habit has existed for a long time and still exists now. I hope this answers your question. If not, please kindly clarify further.
'Would have to' shows an imagined situation, but 'will have to' shows a definite or real situation. So for example: 'If I were a doctor, I would have to work longer hours.' But the reality is that I'm not a doctor, so this is just an imagined, hypothetical situation. Hope this helps, Farooq Muhammad.
Hi.I really apperciate for you this is excellent 🙏🌹 I used to be a accountant but now I ‘m not because I study english every day for my aim because I wanna compete in ACCA.and I remember ,when I was child I would always eat chocolate and date alot.and also I would always sing in highschool and my friends liked my voice.
Respected Teacher. Would you please clear my doubt about the structure (would + be + noun) (would + be + ing) What do these sentences say and in which tense. 1. I would be doctor. 2. She would be in office. 3. Ram would be working. Thanks in advance sir. And hope for prompt reply
1. 'I would be a doctor' basically means that if things had been different in the past, I would currently be working as a doctor. But I'm not so things clearly changed. 2. She would be in office is the same meaning as in #1. 3. Again, same difference.

I don't understand that sentence either but here's a few more examples: I always wanted to try that when I was younger OR She always met her friends on Friday night.

What is the difference between "WILL HAVE TO AND WOULD HAVE TO"?
'Would have to' shows an imagined situation, but 'will have to' shows a definite or real situation. So for example: 'If I were a doctor, I would have to work longer hours.'
