Dear Arnel, I would like to say I've watched practically all your videos in UA-cam, which I believe have helped me a lot. Thank you so much. Below is my summary about how to use WOULD. And I think there're 7 common uses. What do you think ? Is there anything more ? 1: Making request in a super polite way. ex: would you mind turning down the music ? and I think it's like 'could you turn down the music, please ? ' 2: A polite way to say 'I want' ex: I would like to hear something interesting is more polite than I want to hear something interesting. 3: Reported speech.(future in the past) ex: He just said he would buy me a car. 4: Refusal (a polite way to refuse a person's request) ex: are you coming to my birthday party tomorrw ? I would like to, but I'm working all day tomorrow. 5: Repeated actions in the past. ex: I'd play basketball after school when I was a teenager. 6: Giving suggestion. ex: my ex-girlfriend invited me to her wedding. I wouldn't go. (if i were you) 7: Imaginary or unreal situation. A: imaginary situation in the present or future ex: I'd buy a big house for my parents if I had one million dollars. ex: If I didn't have a car, I would walk my kids to school. ex: If I were taller a bit, I would play basketball in the NBA. B: imaginary situation in the past. ex: If you'd been one minute late, you would've missed that train. ex: If I'd studied harder in school, I would've become a lawyer.
Arnel, I hope you know how amazing you are and how grateful we all are for having someone like you in this world! Your work is perfect! Huge THANK YOU!!!
It's possible for everyone to learn English easily with such an amazing teacher who's always energetic and makes her students feel energetic too!!! A BUNCH OF THANKS 😊❤️
Dear respected madam, You did a phenomenal Hardwork to make easy to understand complex grammar. According to me so far You are one of the best teacher in the world. I love you so much from bottom of heart from India.
Nothing compares to your excellent, professional, superb way of teaching, I wonder why you, being the teacher with the best pedagogical skills, dont have 10 millions subscribers. With this wonderful lesson I can master the WOULD, at last, thanks a lot, lovely Lady
I'd like to say thank you so much Arnel. I used to be nervous that i couldn't learn English more when i had tried to read all my grammar book in my mother language. After i have learn from your video, i remembered structures well and i used them in my email when i am at work. I am so happy. Thank you and hop you can share more lessons.
I saw a lot of videos about the usage of 'would'. But there are a lot of grammar rules. I didn't used to know how to use 'would'. I don't know how to thanks to you. This is the best lesson about would and you are the best teacher I've ever seen.
I teach English in Japan and one of my students asked me about the word “would.” I suddenly realized how complicated it is to explain all of its uses. Thanks for helping me break it down for her!
Dear Arnel, you are going to put a lot of ESL teachers out of work - well done! At 6:09 one could drop the "a" and simply say: "Would you like tea or coffee..." But: "a cup of tea".
Maybe there’s nothing on youtube better than this. I would love to say that it’s so facile to understand. How charming & attracting your info-graphics is!
I am a south Indian, who aspires to become a fluent speaker of English. I am 46 years old. Rare are the teachers like you . "If I were rich, I would have donated a substantial amount of money and my valuable time for you." This is true and this is also the result of my understanding of your other video on conditionals. I must say that this video is chakkas (awesome). A load of thanks for you from my heart.
I am sure this class is the best english class, and the best language class, that I have ever seen. Teacher Arnel, your channel is the best UA-cam Channel for English Learning ever. Congratulations from Mexico, you're very interesting teacher, I am a native Spanish speaker, I am not good at English language but you are an amazing teacher!!!
Hello, Arnel. You are an amazing Teacher. I really like the way you communicate with your audience aka Students. Do you have any Complete Course materials that I could download? On the other hand, do you have any books or materials to study English Accent like American/British Accent as well as informal short ways to pronouncing different sentences like natives? I want to speak like native Speakers. Kinldy help me in this regard.
This is the first time i have watched your videos on u tube.... It's really boost my confidence... I would love to see all of ur video's and then start my practicing while watching ur videos tqsm for giving some valuable tips to the beginners who were interested to learn english
Yes, you can. Used to can replace would for past habits. I used to (would) wake up early every day when I was younger. With stative verbs which show emotions, you can only use "used to."
Definitely it is best explanation what I see before. 4:16 But one more of my opinion is do not say about contract due to reason of the fact that we are pupils who are needed in clear pronounce to listen what native English speakers who are bringers of knowledge say us about. It is, at least in my opinion, only way for us to be aware in English language.
If I were with you I would give you a big salute. If I had experienced a teacher like you, I would have scored 100 in my exam. Would you mind responding my comments?
Wow!How vivid your lessons are! They are clear, structured, interesting. I am very happy to know you have blood relationship with Chinese because I am Chinese.
Your teaching method is good,l know how to use would correctly in my writing that time l always made this mistake nobody told me the grammarticaly mistake even though my English teacher said l was hopeless and l always get f9 in my English,l think you are the best English l have ever seen, hopefully l can write and speak very well in future, thanks for your channel God bless you,
