I always have a problem with my hair tie staying in place when i slick my hair with ANYTHING. It always slide to the back unless i just let my hair be dry. Whether i use bobbi pins or not.

a great tip if u want to make ur puff stay instead of adding another head band just put bobby pins to hold it in place I do it every day and last for a week if u keep it wraped
