Choosing a favorite whistle is like going to a model train store and being told you can only buy one engine 😂. Its hard to pick a favorite here, but that flat top powell sure is a beauty

20:04 sounds like the L&N passenger 3 chime whistle with a few added notes

My favorite types of whistles are the ones that're usually slanted to the left so when it's blown, the steam comes out at an angle. That is totally the coolest way to blow a steam whistle on steam locomotives! ❤ 48:45

My Proto 2000 0-6-0’s whistle is arranged at about 45 degrees vertically and 15 degrees horizontally.

I really loved 154’s 6 inch Crosby, but as always, 4501’s Princeton is my absolute favorite!

Whatever 5 chimes at 1:01:14 and 1:15:28 are my favorites of this compilation, any idea what railroads they're from? I also thought the shop-built Southern 5, 190's Lunkenheimer, and 154's 5" Crosby were cool. Hopefully 3RR goes through with 154's overhaul, I'd be disappointed if I never had the chance to go see her operate in coming years.

Any is good as long it's not the Durango & Silverton or Cumbrez & Toltec. I sure as hell that I won't visit the D&S the most as how can they call it preservation if they can't preserve the coal fired traditions that can be passed down. I am more fine with diesel over oil burners(I lost favor of oil burners because of the D&S) as I can call out that move could cost them the historic landmark protections. Plus another things that I noticed, is how D&S are only safety tested engine 41 before being returned back to client, but not coal burners from the Colorado RR Museum, also a over kill of comes to E&P #4 and the Eureka is a wood burner. I have a better impression of the staff of the White Pass & Yukon after I first sent my concerns about selling the alcos & GEs might have a negative effect that run the risk of the NRHP revoking landmark protections, which I got response which they appreciated my concerns and they have clearance to do it and kept some. But, since April, to now no response when I asked out of concern to the D&S, instead got ridiculed on UA-cam comment. So, I won't visit Colorado at all, and I am nervous about asking C&T as I don't want a repeat.

I feel your pain, but look at it this way, would you rather them not run at all or be modified and still be able to run. I don't like modern day oil conversions, but there's nothing I can do about it but cope with the changes
