We had this movie before. An original copy in those big plastic cassette tapes, forgot what it was called. But dude, this movie made me shed tears when I was still a wee lad. Now I'm 30 and this movie is still way much better than those dragon movies that came thru the years. Its story was Gold.
@@xDinomanx- I think it gets a bad rap, but I agree that it's actually pretty decent. Especially the expressions and lip sync. There are moments where the dragon looks stunningly real.. and then of course many where it's clearly the early days of photorealistic CGI... but on the whole it looks a lot better than a lot of those other post Jurassic Park cgi effects... and waaaaay better than Dragonheart 2...
I love this scene, Draco is stunning coming out of the waterfall with his scales shimmer like gold. His reaction to the bolos wrapping around his ankle is a little funny. When he realizes that Bowen is still hanging on he seems to have some fun with him, that's why he flies him towards the woods. The, "pity...that must've hurt..." was so funny, I can hear the sarcasm in his voice. I also find the, "how do like the ride so far?" amusing. I imagine when the saddle got hung up in the fork of those two trees and it jerked him down, that it might have been a very uncomfortable landing for him. I will say this, Bowen came quite close to losing his head to Draco's his tail talon/claw, but clever enough to make him get it stuck in the log. I do wonder though, if deep down it hurt Draco to say that he was the last one? That's part of the reason why I think he decided to strike a deal with Bowen, aside from finally not having to lurk in holes and skulk in the darkness. I feel like he was lonely and wanted someone to talk to. I'm still amazed that he didn't just flat out kill Bowen on the spot when he found out it was he that had killed the Scarred One.
They probably did, Why else would every single culture on the face of this Earth have dragons in their folklore. Honestly they might still exist and we just haven't discovered them yet. It's like I always say until you can prove to me that something doesn't exist I will always assume that it does
@@CaptainKotetsu Well, given that the target demographic wouldn't know what they are, I wouldn't be surprised. Kirin are divine creatures that act as omens of good fortune. So, you can view them as a combination of unicorns and dragons. They're pretty much the first version of my little pony.
The CGI still holds up wonderfully even after 25 years. Draco is such an amazing dragon. RIP Sean Connery

I’m really gonna miss Sean Connery, this is my most favourite movie from him when I was a kid in 2005
You're not wrong. The CGI still holds up pretty well. i watched the movie again a week ago and I agree. They did a marvellous job animating Draco.

The beginning shot of Draco flying out of the waterfall is still stunning!
Totally an epic shot, I agree
To this day, still the best Dragon graphics ever. Such an epic adventure!!
Is this a Morbius is great type of thing?? lol
Until Smaug from the Hobbit trilogy came along and he was done with motion capture
I would also say Sapphira from Eragon was good as well
The effects in Dragonslayer form 1981 might still be the best ever.
0:42 0:56 Is anybody else laughing at Dennis Quaid's screaming?
Draco is one of my favorite heroic dragons and it's awesome he's not a usual Wyvern Dragon that we always see we need more Heroic Dragons.
I searched all over UA-cam to find 3:17 because it stuck out to me as a kid. Still just as epic.
The way Draco says "Yikes!" XD I'm sorry but that is just hilarious to me lol
Draco: Come visit the woods!
Bro really thought he could stop a dragon with a rope....and he did
Rip Sean Connery
Draco Breaths fire from his nose

"I AM THE LASHT ONE!!!"
Brother Gilbert had bars, not gonna lie 🙏🏻
He was a real one.
could rhyme orange with first place if he wanted
Seriously was there a better choice then the legendary Sean Connery to voice Draco?
It was originally Patrick Stewart. That could have worked. He later did the voice in one of the straight to DVD sequels.
"Come!, Visit the Woods!" 🌲🌲🌲

(Falls to knees crying) Why did he leave us 😭😭
Chasing the dragon. Heh. I know Sean Connery's voice is addictive but this is ridiculous lol
3:00 that’s Basil of Baker Street’s line from great mouse detective(1986)
More likely Dastardly’s line.
Another dead end, he was within my grasp.

It’s not on the Australian version of Netflix sadly
I wish they put all 4 movies on there
Why is he held back because of one tree? We are talking about a dragon here! He should have easily broke away.

I wish that Dragon really did existed at one time, just like the Dinosaurs did.

Yep, Dragonheart is a the man's version.
That actually wasn’t a dragon in Raya’s movie. Just a snake unicorn.
