  • I was honestly really hopeful after filming with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 thinking it would be just as good as the DJI Avata 2.... and then I actually saw the side by side and I was blown away by the results.

    I really enjoyed your video! The topic you chose is fantastic. I've been doing real estate drone tours for a while now, flying custom 2.5" drones in manual mode. The most challenging part is maintaining altitude. Your footage with the Avata 2 was incredibly smooth. I’m seriously considering investing in one now.
    Keep up the great work!

      That is the hardest part, and I have battled myself because flying a custom built is so much more fun and takes more skill through a house than the Avata 2 but the Avata 2 footage is so crisp and perfect that I’ve almost completely switched over all my home tours to it

    Excellent coverage. The drone turbulence on the bed was hilarious. Could take some weights with clips to attach to sheet corners to prevent unwanted turbulence prior to flight!

    Absolutely beautiful drone footage. That second house was amazing. Would be fairly easy to take the drone out of the mirror too as opposed to a whole human being. That would really knock people's socks off if you did that! 😂
    Great video, really nice to watch.

    Thanks for the comparison! Would you be willing to share your controller settings (and other settings) you use on the Avata2 when flying inside for real estate tours? I'm new to the Avata2 and just started flying it in manual a few weeks ago. Working on my Part 107 now and want to start practicing in my own house for fly-through. I'm not great yet at managing speed. It's easy to go fast but hard to go slow. Thanks for the great videos!

    I really like Your videos or should I say propoer tutorials. Challenge: what about insta 360 x4 on a long stick. You can upper lower. You can make smoothing pre and stabilization post. You can get this close to objects perspective. You have wide angle. What do You think?

    • @JonnyTrego
      @JonnyTrego  2 місяці тому

      I think it would be a great option! If @insta360 would send me one I would absolutely do a comparison! My only worry would be about the up and down movement from walking but other than that I can’t see why it wouldn’t work

    Thanks Jonny! I'm a full time real estate photographer/videographer and my set up is for cinematic house shoots. Gimbal with R6 II, 14-35 RF & Mavic 3 Pro. That being said...I just bought the Avata 2 three weeks ago and in that time I went from Motion controller to FPV Controller 3 in standard/sport mode and just yesterday successfully flew in full acro manual mode. Kudos to the couple of days I flew in "Take off" to feel semi confident to fly in full manual acro. My question for you is do you fly with the fpv controller 3 in standard mode or do you use the motion controller and if you don't use the motion controller in a home, would you? Do you leave the video settings in auto exposure? I could see myself mixing Avata shots with my Mavic 3 pro and R6 II. Fly into the home and maybe then mix in gimbal handheld shots and then fly out of the home. Thanks in advance!

      That’s awesome! So personally I have stopped flying the Avata in manual mode inside peoples houses, as much as it pains the FPV pilot in me, the better product is flying it in normal mode with the FPV controller because of the altitude hold. I don’t think I would fly inside a home with the motion controller, it might be because I’m not comfortable with it yet but I don’t feel as in control with the motion controller so until I have time to really learn it I’ll be using the FPV controller! I think as an FPV pilot I have this pride that if I don’t fly it in manual mode it’s not a good product or I’m not as good of a pilot, so I’ve been trying to get rid of that pride because it gets in the way of making money and honestly making my life easier.

    • @JaredHoyman
      @JaredHoyman 2 місяці тому +4

      @@JonnyTrego I hear you on the pride part. I'm kinda prideful right now after flying in full manual after just a few weeks, but at the same time I'm super impressed on what I can do with the motion controller. I can see a couple package offers to my clients now that I'm more comfortable with FPV in the Avata 2. Quick fly throughs or cinematic walk throughs I have been doing. Both offer unique results for businesses and real estate. I have not used post stabilization yet with the avata. Can it be in Ultra wide or does it just need to be in regular wide to work in gyroflow? I'm a DaVinci Resolve Editor so i would just incorporate it inside there.

    • @JonnyTrego
      @JonnyTrego  2 місяці тому +4

      It’s all just about using the best tool for the job, which there are benefits to both flying in full manual and flying the motion controller. For stabilization in Gyroflow you have to have the camera set to wide. If you use ultra wide it doesn’t capture the gyro data, I also have rock steady off as well

  • @Emuspaul
    @Emuspaul Місяць тому

    My wife-angle full-frame camera on Ronin gimbal gives excellent 4K, especially for pausing at spots. My new Avata 2 is great, but Gyroflow crops the 4K too much; so I have no EIS for full 3820 resolution and stabilize in Final Cut Pro.

    Hi Jonny,
    I have a question regarding my DJI Avata. I’m trying to use 4K at 60 fps with the ultra wide lens and HorizonSteady, but it seems like these settings are not compatible. Does anyone know why the DJI Avata restricts certain stabilization modes with specific resolutions and lenses? Is there any way to bypass these limitations or any recommended solutions?

    the action 4 on a small gimbal would have been a better comparison (same field of view) than the pocket 3, which is noticeably less wide

    What is your opinion on doing fly-throughs with a mini4 pro in lieu of an avata if that's all you have?

    • @SenorSol
      @SenorSol Місяць тому +1

      GPS drones like the Mini series simply don't work well, they drift too much indoors, it's hard to control them because of the prop wash. I've tried it, I speak from experience, there is a serious risk of crashing and damaging not only your drone but the property that you're trying to film! You're better off with a small FPV drone, or the Avata 2!

    • @SteveP0808
      @SteveP0808 25 днів тому +1

      Agreed with SenorSol. I started with the Mini 4 Pro w/ wide angle lens and cage hoping for a single drone for all, even thinking I could use point to point. Nope, need the avata. Need both! Mini 4 Pro gimbal is necessary for intro/outtro exterior clips.

      You need a 107 if you are earning money with your drone. Anything non recreational requires part 107. Earning money becomes commercial flying just fyi
