This is the guide I needed. I've been using some of arch linux in a VM for a while and while it's worked quite smoothly I've had a couple of crashes now and then.
I hope you find it useful! I'm not a very good teacher, so I hope I covered all my bases. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Glad to help where I can!
thanks a bunch dude, will try reinstalling arch later tonight. hopefully i can get my fiio k5 pro to output a higher sample rate then 44.1 this time, lol edit: just found my old ventoy usb :)
@beisance3594 any chance i could get a hand with setting up everything?i apear to be missing some important packages and am not sure how to proceed, i can give you my discord if doing it over voice would be easier.
Absolutely, glad to answer any questions you might have. I intend on setting up a discord server eventually to make communication easier; but I've been lacking with the projects taking priority.
@@X0mbiRapt0r My GitHub can be found here : github.com/Obe1sance/AlphaObeisance You should be able to find everything I use by checking out my Arch Scripts. Most everything covered in the video is also available in the video description =). Sorry for the wait!
@@alphaobeisance3594 Thanks, I had a look through there and don't see the software list you showed in your video around 2:09. I'm busy building my own similar list and found yours to be a good starting point. Actually manually retyped a lot of it from the vid before asking if you maybe had a copy somewhere... 😅 Buuuut, after several weeks of troubleshooting, first trying to get NixOS working like I wanted it to, then moving back to Arch for FHS compliance, I managed to get my Arch SteamBox running through gamescope up and running yesterday finally. Turns out the ONE game I kept using to test my setup (Binding of Isaac as it's quick to download post install and lightweight enough to run on all my testing systems) has a borked Linux port or something, it still does does not work under either Arch or NixOS on any of my test machines, but then after testing other games that worked fine, forcing Steam to use the Windows version of it via Proton works 100% and nearly everything else I've tried otherwise since downloaded also works perfectly out of the box... lesson learned, remember that sometimes your setup isn't necessarily the problem, applications/games, even with native Linux builds, can also be uncooperative. 🤣

maybe a weird thing to compliment on but I like the aspect ratio on your videos.
Thanks! I know it's a bit unorthodox but I like to record native to my Ultrawides 😁.

Just holler if you got any questions. I'll do my best to help where I can! I just updated the video description to fix some errors.

@@alphaobeisance3594 i will definitely be looking forward to that potential discord server.
Hey, do you maybe have the file you referenced also uploaded/shared somewhere, like your NixOS conf on GitHub?
@@X0mbiRapt0r busy day today but give me a bit and I'll track it down for you!
@@alphaobeisance3594 Thanks, really appreciate it, no rush
