My former squad leader was entrapped and spent 2 years in the Marines brig. He finally got exonerated and got his rank back plus picking up Sargent and all his back pay. I've seen 3 of my buddies go through that and it's so disheartening especially when they try to tell you not to help or support them. I've always stood by my guys even at the cost of slowing my career path but it's worth it! Loyalty and brotherhood mean more than rank to me!
Do you know if this sort of thing is being addressed? The external Justice process in the military I mean. I’m not in the military, but this is all very surprising to hear. Very unfortunate that this is how our finest are treated.
Good for you - I am a targeted individual- basically I was sold into the secret space dark op projects as a child so surviving trafficking and satanic ritual abuse trauma based mind control programming and now I’m targeted as a terrorist stalked hacked and even my entire background has been erased and re written to a false narrative- they don’t want me to tell my story and the lengths they go to poison your friends family and associates is sickening- my service does not count as basically I was sold as a monarch slave but none of this man’s testimony shocks me it actually makes me feel like I’m not insane and this is actually what is happening in this country to silence anything out of their official “narrative” they want to paint for their narcissistic masters
Never thought I'd spend 1 hour let alone 5 1/2 on youtube watching one video but couldn't stop watching this one. Thank you both for your service and for sharing these experiences with the rest of us.
Same here... I just finished DJs interview took me 3 days but damn Shawn is a great intervierer... I wiah more people would take note.. ask questions and allow the interviewee to answer uninterrupted....
Yeah. It makes sense though. Why watch a movie when you can watch a series. Some stories just require more and especially When it's non-fiction. These amazing people tell wonderful stories that could easily fill a 350 page book or two. I tend to only listen to 2+ hour podcasts.
Sean, please take note: Ive been watching UA-cam for 18 years now, This interview is thee most compelling thing i have ever seen. Serious, watched the whole 5 hours.
@@ShawnRyanShow if USA doesn’t turn into a total fruit loop country they will make a movie on this. I think the title should be “We won’t let you have the truth”. I think a lot of this is all the Left Wing cultural bias that has been propagated on the American people. From Vietnam war and how veterans were treated, too the modern left that “US soldiers” are out there committing massacres galore. Movies like a “Few Good Men” have given the American physcy a bad taste of always looking for that bad in its people. Like this is pure “Salem Witch” trial mixed with political angles at the top. Pure parasitical on the brass’s end. Horrible stuff.
💯 these dudes are a different breed man. The best training I ever had while in service was with a "civilian contractor" company called International Training Incorporated. The team leads were 2 SEAL's and a Green Beret. They're not human, but amazing people. The amount of empathy these guys had really blew my mind. How they can see and do the shit they had to to survive, but have the ability to stay level headed and sympathize with lesser troops issues with combat. I'll always respect these Operators. No matter what the fuck anyone said about Chief Gallagher. The man deserves a dick load more than his name being dragged through the mud.
Chief Gallagher, your wife, your brother, and your lawyers have my respect, Thank you! Shawn thank you for putting a spotlight on this story. Americans need to know.
Extraordinary. I’ve been watching for the last couple days. So well done and so easy to connect to. It feels like these fellas are right in my living room.
The way Eddie Gallagher was treated was disgusting, especially by the media. The guy’s an American hero and people tried their damndest to throw dirt on him. God bless him and his family. Great episode!
Sounds like the naval special warfare command also threw him under the bus. Tried to bury him under the prison... I've learned from all these episodes that the government uses you until your no longer of value then discards you
His own unit testified under oath that Gallagher was "OK with shooting women” and “firing into a crowd of what appeared to be noncombatants multiple times." Fuck Eddie.
Right! You raise your right hand and swear to serve the constitution, then you serve for 20 years in combat zones, then get railroaded by a bunch of pencil dick ncis agents and jerk off jags. Nsw top admiral should be charged as well for allowing this to happen with his blessing!
@@jordanvangundy975 It's a culture that's formed. I witnessed this myself in the Clinton administrations years. Officers were different. You would have to experience this for yourself. Almost a kind of self-loathing that was demonstrated. I trusted my peers, the NCO's.
I was stationed on Miramar when they drove him to the brig and I remember standing out along the main road with some other Marines and we were all saying that he is a hero and they should give him a medal. I didnt know that he was treated that wrong until I watched this podcast. This man is a legend and did not deserve any of what happened to him and his family.
I was a chaser on Pendleton. Most depressing job I ever had bro. I can't imagine what you guys were thinking as that shi# was happening. Crazy fucking Egos
Terrible to hear how this government has gone so far away from righteousness. I don’t know why anyone would risk their life for this treatment. Shameful
This brings back memories, I was a corpsman at ST1 when Eddie was there, and then when I was the first phase corpsman at BUD/S, him being a SOCM he was my supervisor and he is pretty much what you see on the interview, super honest super chill, super funny dude, he’s had a lot of close calls on the battlefield but it was his own government that wanted him put away... so glad he made it through.
Andrea is fucking phenomenal. I wouldn’t know about Eddie or his case if it wasn’t for her hard charging tactics to clear his name. She’s a damn warrior!
Unbelievable! Sean Ryan & his Beautiful Wife put on the internets best real life entertainment. He is so gracious & respectful to the most heroic patriots in America. I’m a new subscriber & can’t get enough of every episode. The American public owe a great deal to veterans such as these.
@@Fartcache are you saying Mike Ritland is racist? He's one of the only people in this position who continues to have people of color and nationality on. Never in a million years would I have even assumed listening to a military podcast (which I’m interested in from that aspect alone) would have been so helpful and meaningful with my mental health issues including PTSD (non- military related). Thank you. It’s been a complete surprise but I’m incredibly grateful. I’ve watched all the interviews and listened to your own journey. They’ve been strengthening. Again, thank you.
I'm the same.. I have severe PTSD non military related. Night terrors are beyond bad...this helps me in some strange way. I'm glad I'm not the only one that this helps... I thought I was weird for it.

I was stationed at Balboa when Chief Gallagher was there. I remember passing him on the road one day when all the investigation stuff was going on, and I had so many questions to ask him, but he look stressed af at the time, so I just gave him space and walked on by. Felt like it was the right thing to do. I had much respect for him then, and I have even more of it now.
@@davidw6828 Maybe he expressed himself poorly. For my part, the negative parts of the military we observed were comic in nature. I love, love, loved my USN but I’m giving them a harder look now. This ran all the way up to SECNAV. NCIS can be a clown show which I’ve observed first hand.
@@ChrisHyde537 life on the ship was awesome. When I broke my back and transferred to Balboa, that command threw me into supply and I didn't do anything besides go to appointments and go to the smoke deck.. we had sweepers like once a day but eventually that went away and we just didn't do anything. @@ShawnRyanShow honestly bro ur research is second to none on these types of podcasts. Everything is so well thought out and put together. Badass show you have here my guy!
They need to prosecute/punish the accusers for lying like that. And the NCIS agents who went so far overboard with everything! If you deal with the people involved with assaulting this man and his life and family with a firm hand then you will have more people thinking twice before they pull some shit like this. It can't go unpunished!! I'm so sick of the lack of accountability in this government
Maybe this podcast should talk to the Green Berets that took Eddie on an op and caught him sniping people like some guy who was just walking his kids to get some water, just so he could come down off a roof and say "Got me another one today", when those Green Berets figured out what he was doing he got sent right back to the FOB on a helicopter they called to come get him, they wanted him as far away from them as possible so they didn't get sucked up into some war crimes BS because he was thrill killing people. That nonsense with Gallagher killing some half dead Taliban fighter is nothing compared to the kind of stuff investigators found out about him. You just got done watching hours of him talking, do you really think he's gonna talk about stuff like that? And what does his wife know about anything? She wasn't in the middle east, the Seals kept covering up one thing after the other about him to protect their image, when he finally found himself just sitting around FOB's because no one wanted to work with him because of team mates complaining about his crap he started bumming missions with people like Green Beret ODA teams who didn't know any better about him and figured what the heck, he's a Seal, yea we'll take him on an op we can always use an extra hand, next thing you know here's Eddie showing up back at the FOB days later because they couldn't get him away from them fast enough. So now he's on a podcast with his wife claiming that guys who just didn't like him because he was tough and made them do their jobs made up a story about him to get rid of him so they could get another chief, yes right, don't fall for his crap, this is nothing but damage control for him with no one else around to dispute what they're saying.
I never imagined myself listening to a 5-1/2 hour podcast, but this was riveting, exciting, emotional and inspiring. I can hardly believe I just listened to this for free. This was exceptional and I am honored to hear his story. I hope Eddie can enjoy his life and keep heading in the direction he’s on now.
Civilian here. No way I could not finish this. I have heard many versions of this case but this absolutely brought it into the personal and real. I thought Eddie was playing soccer with baby heads from listening to NPR. Good thing I realized they were evil liars pretty quick and remained open to hear the truth. This was an absolute inspiration. Especially the healing portion at the end.

Imagine having what it takes to not quit during hell week and making it to the SEAL Teams all to just end up bitching about work and not having your RedBull... How the hell did Eddie put up with that bullshit.
Right?! You got through the hardest training in the world just to go on a badass deployment and complain the whole time? I don’t know how EG put up with it all those months. Guys a hero.
Genuine question; if all of them went through the same training and were a team why did a significant portion of his team turn on him and testify against him? Isn’t it perhaps more likely that they were the ones telling the truth...
@@MrFineWhiteWine No. That is the same reasoning his neighbors used... that if NCIS rolled up with a block full of armoured vehicles and 20 clowns in full kit, they MUST have done something wrong.
My father retired from the Navy after 23 years, which was 15 years ago. I'm not saying that all military personnel in the NCIS are corrupt, but between living in Virginia Beach, and my dad finishing his service on Dan Diego I heard stories how NCIS were some of the most corrupt system in any type of police. It like what Mr Gallagher said. All they do is try to protect the brand at all cost. Doesn't matter the awesome work Mr Gallagher did to protect our country. All NCIS had was hearsay. I praise God. He was cleared eventually. My dad decided to retire, even though he was about to be awarded Master Chief. He got out because he did not like the path our military on. Luckily he finished his career has a high school ROTC teacher. He wanted to teach the high school students how the military was supposed to mean to those young students how it is supposed to be. I'm so proud of my father. Since he retired from teaching, I'm 51 years old and work in the medical field, and I've been told how my father changed young men and women's lives teaching them for the better. My dad was in the navy during Vietnam, and he would refuse to even speak about it most often… as he got older, he shared with me that kids would walk out with cloth, as if laundry, and had grandes and guns and they were left with no choice but to fire at children. The statement that truly made my jaw drop…”They told me I was being accused of murder.” What the actual Frock?! War inherently involves removal of life-at their command. Trying or accusing a soldier of murder is an oxymoron unless it’s a justified claim-which is furthest possible from the truth. What a disgrace the NCIS is to these soldiers and to this country. Disgrace! This is absolutely revolting.
holy shit this guy really went through the gauntlet all because some immature teammates didnt like him. thank you for giving him this platform, and for giving him the full 5.5 hours it took to really tell the full story.
This interview is superficial, "he stabbed a kid" is the least of the things they did, read about the hatchets they carried.. 54:08 its not about what the kid did or did not do, nor about the acts of the thousands of people they literally tortured in their own homes (just to clarify, those people where not the aggressors, they where literally defending their family/home/town from an economically/politically incentivized war they didnt even understand) its about the fact they committed war crimes, and you CANT justify a bad action by accusing another person of doing the same, that is beyond absurd, its ridiculous. The team mates that rise their hands where not immature, on the contrary, they where defending not the tortured victims, but rather honor, integrity, ethics, the parents that raised them, the teachers that educated them, their families, and EVERYTHING America stands for, those are true heroes for having the balls to stand up to something that IS wrong, effectively trying to make America and the World a better place.. We need more "immature" people in this world

His wife is a Hero! What a story! You couldn't make up a more dramatic tale if you tried. This is a black eye for the operators for sure. Thanks for getting this out there, and I am preordering tonight.
Not a black eye for operators as much as the Navy General Officer corp and NCIS. The Navy has a long history of trying to protect some general officers idea of what the institution stands for or more directly screws over enlisted to protect officers, because the officers are the Navy from the officers perspective. Not really a very good criminal investigation organization, NCIS seems to exist to launch misguided attempts to burnish the image of the Navy. So a flag officer can stan up and say "we don't stand for that". Look at the USS Iowa explosion. NCIS cooked up a bogus theory that one of the guys who died in the blast had intentionally blown the turret up because of his unrequited love for another sailor. No evidence. Literally, made up from whole cloth. That covered up that the Navy had stored the black powder out of spec and had records to prove it. that covered up that an Office on Iowa was "experimenting" with combinations of load and projectile that were not approved. That covered up that a civilian at NavSea had been discussing said unapproved load combinations with the Officer and did not discourage him. Although, it seems more likely the baked black powder was the cause of the explosion. A test mount was set up at Sandia with the same powder and projectile and when they hit the load button, the whole thing blew up... But NCIS continued to defame the dead sailor with the unrequited homo love story.

Shawn said it perfectly when he talked about those of us that have to deal with tragedy on a daily basis using dark humor. Its our way of dealing with things that no human being should ever have to deal with.. when we lose our Sense of humor, is when PTSD takes its toll on us.. I've seen death and destruction for 22yrs before I had to walk away.
Not even trying to compare what the men and women in combat go through, but a similarity happens when you work emergency room medicine. The sense of humor and some of the jokes we verbalize to each other would sound appalling or uncaring to a layperson or even nurses in other departments that don’t see traumatic injuries and or traumatic stupidity that exist in the world. Sometimes, if you don’t have a sense of humor or irony, when dealing with some situations, burn out, will kick you in the ass sooner or later. I’ve noticed that a lot of the super serious nurses I worked with would tend to burn out a lot sooner.
I am a retired Senior Chief without the kind of combat experience of Chief Gallagher. However, I was astonished and angry by the way The Command Master Chief (CMC) treated Chief Gallagher with such disdain, scorn, and contempt. The CMC seemed to forget that he should have been an advocate for Chief Gallagher. In short, the duties of a CMC are to guide juniors while promoting the commanding officer’s vision and to be the leader of and promote teamwork in the Chief’s mess. Instead, the CMC chose to abandon Chief Gallagher, and by doing so, in my opinion, caused Chief Gallagher to lose respect from the rest of the command. Also, I got the impression that Chief Gallagher did not have much help with how to be a leader from his fellow CPOs. When I was a new Chief, I had fellow CPOs who I could ask for advice, i.e., sit down in “the goat locker” and discuss problems and get input from them about how to handle difficult situations. Looks to me like the CMC and the rest of the CPOs in the Command hung him out to dry. During my 11 years as a Chief, I never saw a fellow Chief treated like Chief Gallagher even when we thought we had someone in the Chief’s Mess act like an E-7 rather than a CPO. A part of the "Chief's Creed" that was forgotten adding to the stink of the entire situation was: “Your entire way of life has now been changed. More will be expected of you, more will be demanded of you. Not because you are an E-7, but because you are now a CHIEF PETTY OFFICER. You have not merely been promoted one pay grade--you have joined an exclusive fraternity, and as in all fraternities, you have a responsibility to your brothers, even as they have a responsibility to you.” (tinyurl.com/Chiefs-Creed) Having said all that, in my opinion, Chief Gallagher made two mistakes that contributed to him losing all support from his fellow Chiefs, the team, and the Command. 1) He did not strike a workable balance between leading his men and implementing the tactics to get the mission accomplished. A Chief must lead his juniors and not do the work for them. I must give Chief Gallagher the benefit of the doubt on this point because I cannot relate to the type of pressure an operator has to undergo plus the support and guidance from his CMC who I assume was also an operator was lacking. 2) Nevertheless, it was a mistake to meet with the team saying, “Let’s forget rank”. While HE forgot his rank, the team and the command DID NOT. As a Chief, I would discourage this type of behavior My counsel would have been to have the meeting, hear the grievances, but never forget rank and never challenge your juniors physically. I would further counsel that by the end of the meeting get an action plan in place to document and correct the grievances and to get the CMC involved because at this point it becomes a command problem. In other words, he took on too much of the burden.
@@andrewde78 Thank you, Captain. Upon further reflection, I should have added (as if I were sitting across from him in my office): Chief Gallager, when the burden becomes too heavy, there is nothing wrong with seeking out and having the intestinal fortitude to ask for help. You grow exponentially from looking for and receiving advice from others and then implementing the steps and procedures provided/recommended that fit your personality and demeanor. Look Chief, there is no right or wrong way - and unfortunately, there is no SOP to use as a reference for leadership. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to leadership. Further, there is no magic wand or magic bullet that makes it easy to be a leader. Being a leader is a full-time job, on and off duty. The closest to the right/best way to facilitate effective leadership is to fill your tool chest with as many tools as possible; then with your head held high projecting confidence and conviction, implement the steps you've chosen to correct and maintain the situation. In other words, paint a picture of yourself to the chain of command (both up and down) that shows you can be trusted. Make it so that when anyone asks, especially the Division Officer or the skipper, "Who said to do that?" the answer should be "The Chief!". If you have done your job correctly, the response from them should be something like, "Okay!", "Gotcha", or "Thanks Chief!"
Very glad to hear from someone in your esteemed position. My feelings, listening to Chief Gallagher, were that the Chief was a great operator, who knew how to lead by example, and performed excellent under pressure, but did not understand the "politics" of leadership (which I struggle with myself - so I know it when I hear it). It sounds like the Chief ran into a group of guys who were used to doing things their way, and felt they had it made, and Chief Gallagher threw a wrench into that by expecting more from them. Unfortunately, they understood how to play the game (dirty) better than the Chief... And he's paid dearly for it.
Eddie, much respect, brother. I'm sorry this happened to you. I pray that your family recovers from this, and it's a tragedy the military turned their back on you. War isn't a pretty sight, and what they ask of you soldiers is ridiculous when the administration doesn't have your back. The same thing is happening to many Leo families within this country. This country has become weak. Respect, brother.
I'm so glad this interview is out there. It's awesome that Eddie has been given a chance to speak his side of the story and hear things directly from his family members! SRS is my new favourite podcast for sure!

Eddie you and your family are warriors. I don't know how I would react if my kids were threatened at gunpoint, that's terrible. Having the accusers ask forgiveness for lying is incredible and your forgiveness speaks volumes about your character. Thank you for sharing!

This is some of the sickest content on UA-cam. I can’t fucking wait! Keep these interviews coming Shawn! As a military history buff it’s so interesting hearing modern combat stories directly from the men who saw it themselves!

At some point people are gonna have to take action. Because talk does nothing.

I was stationed at Navy hospital in San Diego when he was in the barracks and I remember walking back to my barracks and seeing him and I walked past him and then realized who it was and I knew his case and had been following it for some time and so I turned to him and said to him “Hey chief, you’re a hero and I hope all your stuff goes well this week and know that we’re all rooting for you man.” I could tell it took him by surprise for some E3 corpsman coming up and saying that but he told me he was appreciative and thank you. That following Thursday I believe, he was released from the hospital barracks. I was so stoked for him and still am. One of those moments I won’t forget.

Ask the Japanese Americans who were forced into internment camps during WW2 about our rights.
@@petergozinya6122 A stain upon the nation, to be sure. I've been to Heart Mountain; I've seen the concentration camp (or rather what's left it.) Those citizens were deprived of due process, and you might be surprised to learn (If you didn't know already) that the Korimatsu decision is still technically considered good law, meaning that the government could do it again, and could still be upheld on constitutional grounds. The decision to intern Japanese American citizens was based purely on fear and race, and not on any credible evidence. I told the museum employees they should sell a t-shirt with the Due Process Clause on it in their gift shop!

Shame on the US Govt & on the military punks who needed all attention on them and tried to bring down a man with integrity, tremendous skill, and responsibility - that none of them could ever handle.

@@mastersonbat8633EXACTLY! Well said man, how could a person NOT know. Were they living under a rock?!!
What a emotional ride . Props to all the Men & Women that stayed true to Eddie and his Family ! Great Podcast Ryan & Team you guys Rock ! 🔱
Chief, I’m a recently discharged Captain, USMC.
You’re wisdom is infectious and I just learned something from you.
