I am not sure who needs to see this but I wish I would have taken out my gallbladder sooner. I ate perfect for a year, lost weight, avoided fatty foods, etc. And my gallbladder still almost cost me my life. It became black and filled with infection. Some people need to just take it out now.

Digestion system starts to go downhill in few years after surgery if you keep on eating what you used to before surgery. Most doctors just suggest to keep eating whatever you want but trust me it will get worse as you age. Keep up with leas fatty food, less red meat, more green vegetables including bitter gourds and fruits. Take digestive enzymes if you feel digestive discomfort. I also didn’t face that much issues for the first two years after surgery but started going downhill.

I had my removed almost 3 years ago after an ultrasound revealed I had 2 big gallstones. I waited and had a very low fat diet for six months after I finally decided to have it removed. I was just losing weight rapidly and, every now and then, despite my low fat diet, I would have abdominal pain. I think is the best decision I made, as when the doctor took it out, there were the two big stones probably limiting my gallbladder storing capacity.
After my surgery, it took months for my digestive system to go back to almost normal. In my case, the big mistake I made after my surgery was having a high carb/low fat diet. After increasing my fat and lowering my carb intake, I felt normal once again.
Nowadays I can eat almost anything and just have to avoid too much carbohydrates.

Great video but we have to realize that we had gbladder problems bc of underlying imbalance, and removing the gallbladder didnt correct the imbalance. If we want health, we have to heal on a cellular level, not just remove the gbladder and cut out major food groups. If you are having major problems after removal, it's not just from a lack of gallbladder, it's from all the underlying imbalance not being addressed like toxicity, dysbiosis, parasites, candida, leaky gut, deficiencies, chronic infections etc.

Had my surgery a week ago and my first meal was milk - it was all I could digest initially. I added foods and progressed to fruits, soup, rice, pancakes, bread and even milkshake in a week. In the 1990's, while working at Walmart, an older woman told me something I had never heard before. She had a bad gallbladder, quite sick, infected, etc. The doctor didn't remove it but cleaned it out - she had gallstones, an infection, etc. A year later she decided to have it removed and - believe it or not - it had filled up again with gallstones. So, there are valid reasons to have it removed. Just when you think you've heard everything. . . . .

Well, it's been a almost year I experienced my first gallbladder attack..
I cut back on sugars and carbs to cut out the bad Cholesterol because I did have High Bad cholesterol and High Triglycerides too..Im on a KETO diet.
I take TUDCA and Ox Bile salts and they do help in some way..I think I've dissolved some Gallstones and Sludge..This does take months to dissolve the Gallstones..I still have that light mild discomfort, but not as bad like 10 months ago and I also had Nausea for like a month and also a weird itchy palm on my left hand that comes and goes from time to time.
Things are improving but very slowly.
Also, I cut out the Diet Sodas that had produced me a Fatty Liver..Its all related in some odd way.
I get some discomfort from time to time, so im hopeful that everything resolves in the next few months.
Also, Spanish Black Radish dissolves Gallstones..
But i heard you didn't have those issues like most people, you had an Acalculous Gallbladder which is unusual and unexplained..
I hope you have improved and gotten better.

This is all really wonderful advice, most of which I also use after having had my gallbladder removed a few years ago.
I will often take a digestive enzyme supplement that contains ox bile. That helps more than anything.
I also really love to have hot herbal tea pretty often to sooth my stomach. I have additionally used hypnosis and just meditation in general to help get me through.
The worst times were those first 3 years but now I can really throw down some junk food on occasion, not that anyone should but I enjoy it sometimes.
What you said about getting all those foods out of your diet and just sticking to the basics is so so helpful. I've had to do elimination diets like that several times in my life just to reset and find out what is messing up my digestion.

The gas pain was the most painful part of it for me . I don’t get how the gas was and the 4 incisions wasn’t but I’m glad it’s not as bad now . I’m day 7 after gallbladder removal surgery . I had gallstones and had a bad gallbladder attack one night and then just had a constant pain ache there . I’m hoping I can get back to normal . I’m eating soup , rice , crackers , plain toast , jello . I’m hoping to Include other foods after week two . I included chicken and it was good .

Yes, gas pain was/is brutal. It will go away. Since they inject it into the negative space in your abdomen, it has to escape thru your skin pores instead of belching etc. Move around if you can and you should be back to it soon!

Can you eat anything now? I had mine out last Wednesday. Doing well & looking forward to being able to slowly eat all the things I have avoided the last six months. They said I can eat anything now just two weeks of bland foods, than incorporate chicken, things like that, wait 30 days to go back to normal diet. I hope never again to feel that super constricted tightness right under breast , top of stomach, omg it was awful. I never thought gallbladder because it was top middle of stomach. My gi dr never did any imaging & thought it to be gastritis. My eyes were tinged yellow & so miserable feeling, went to e.r. Last Sunday. I had an emptying scan set for last Thursday, at my request. But, wound up admitting to hospital & got gallbladder out Wednesday. Stones & inflamed, elevated liver enzymes, it was bad . So glad they caught this!

@@alexlabra1562 You will be okay but I have learned it will take one full year to really heal from this surgery. Stomach surgery is a major trauma to the body so the bloating you are seeing will take time to go away. Give it a couple more months but I finally had a physician assistant who really explained how this works. It’s not as simple as some doctors or my surgeon made it sound. It was more than two weeks before I was able to do any full routine or wear jeans again. I was told I would be fine in two weeks but that wasn’t true. Now, I can go back to my normal gym routine now as it’s been almost a year but it took a couple months before I could wear jeans or get most swelling to go away. It was explained to me that you have nerves that are growing back in that area so you will be tender & swollen for awhile & you will feel like a zapping sometimes, that’s the nerves growing back, I was told. I do get heartburn now sometimes but I found an acid reflux medicine that’s all natural on Amazon for around 20.00. It works. So you may deal with that now but it sure beats the pain we were dealing with before.

Thanks for this vid, I could tell a HUGE life story of digestive woes but it would take forever. Eggs, Kraft real mayo, and white rice with butter in it have been some particularly harsh things on my stomach/IBS since getting my gallbladder out in Sept 2021. It was severely diseased and nonworking as well and was the root cause of a lot of stuff making me sick for years off and on. I'm going to try the digestive enzymes you suggested, enzymes are for whatever reason the one big thing health-supplement wise I probably haven't taken. Been on a gnarly vitamin regimen for years now after a horrible adverse reaction to the ppi omeprazole years ago zapped my body of what nutrients it did have, which, admitted were probably quite low already after eating junk throughout my 20s, tons of fast food, and junk as a poor kid (lots of ramen noodles and soda lol). I've cut out 99% of fast food since my surgery as well. I take apple cider vinegar as needed, magnesium glycinate ~125mg twice a day plus I eat at least 1 banana a day too (stretches out the expensive Pure Encapsulations magnesium glycinate I buy-why yes I'm frugal :P), centrum men 1 a day multi, swanson pepzin g.i. twice a day for stomach lining maintenance and the zinc in it for immune health. Thought I was dying years ago from gastritis/ulcers so I take them as maintenance now. 2mg chelated copper swanson brand as the pepzin g.i. zinc can deplete the body's copper if not taken. NOW brand 5000 iu d3, 100mcg NOW brand k2. Not many know about k2 but it's actually quite important to not calcify the arteries when d3 is taken, 500mg omega 3 fish oil cheap walmart spring valley brand. I actually do take one Digestive Advantage probiotic with my first meal of the day which has a little bit of digestive enzymes inside of it but it's quite low compared to standalone digestive enzymes. I sprinkle some Swanson DGL powder out of the pill since I read it needs to mix with saliva to activate and also take a swanson aloe vera pill before my first two meals of the day too, DGL is like a natural tums and coats the stomach, I get pretty bad cramping and IBS pains if I don't use it. I preferred how the NOW brand DGL with aloe vera already inside of it tasted 1000000x more than the Swanson's bitter taste, but the NOW has been out of stock for most of the year sadly.

@@iamgreggeorge thank you, I'm going to check out the new video. I need to be more diligent in taking b12. I started taking 2500mcg methyl b12 sublingual lozenges earlier this year, and initially it felt like I had a cup of coffee with how wired up it made me but then I maybe built a tolerance up and noticed it not doing much energy wise so I stopped. The Solaray superdigestaway digestive enzymes have single handedly been the most impactful health thing I've ever had, and have done miracles for my horrible IBS. I think I must naturally have a digestive enzyme deficiency, compounded now by no gallbladder. I also take one ox bile pill with my first meal of the day, I would do more, but, supplement costs start to add up sadly. Luckily the digestive enzymes list bile on their label so I'm getting it from them too.

It's November 2020 & I had mine taken out about 3 years ago. Suprisingly!! I truly don't know how it's been that long. Maybe the trauma & apathy has caused me to feel removed from the exact passage of time. I listened to the doctor for a few weeks after the sugery, but then I went back to my "regular" diet, & probably worse because I remember the 6 months after that I ordered a lot of pizza. I was 24 & really dissatisfied with my life, and really didn't like being restricted. I felt like a lot of my personal choice of enjoyment was taken away from me. So I continued to eat poorly, a lot of greasy foods & a lot of dairy. But I tried to go back to eating healthy for a few weeks in 2018, but after that time I've gone back to ignoring it in the Spring/Summer of 2019. Along with having a lot of issues with upset stomach after foods, I've had some bloating & pain. But now, in this month the bloating & pain has gotten way worse. I had one instance in 2018 when I thought I had a bowel obstruction because I had white stool. But now the pain has gotten way worse since I haven't gotten any better in wanting to eat healthier. My stomach feels so swollen & painful on my upper right side near my rib cage. Now I feel like I'm finally being forced to truly eat a plant-based diet. I really like to eat vegetables & fruits, but I struggle so much with being forced to do it. But I am trying to get rid of this pain. I really want to avoid any hospitalizations or doctors at all since I don't have health insurance.

I went to the hospital on an ambulance so I was not aware of the process or anything concerning gallbladder. But I was ready to be out of pain. So I said TAKE IT OUT NOW and signed the papers of consent. Glad I decided to do the surgery.

My dad had his gallbladder out this past Tuesday. He's been doing great since the surgery, and he was out of the hospital the day he had the surgery. Hope you're doing well after having your gall bladder out.

Had mine removed 10 days ago on an emergency basis as it was severely inflamed, enlarged, and in danger of rupturing which can lead to septic shock and a serious adominal infection. I had very little post operative pain. Never needed the Oxycotin they sent me home with. Before surgery, my pain was a 7 or 8. After surgery, don't think it was more than a 4. Key is getting up and doing some walking asap on a regular basis. First 3 nights I slept in a recliner cause it's easier to get out of that. Roughest day was the 2nd day - wasn't a strong pain but more of a deep soreness all over the abdomen which caused discomfort when you move but fine when I was still. Bottom line... pain not that bad and in about 3 days you're on your way to recovery.

Thanks for your information, I'm going into surgery in 10 days. Doctor said besides stones, I have polyps in my gallbladder. Don't have pain, just bitter taste in my mouth. She also said have chronic hepatitis. I had hepatitis A and B at 15 years old, I'm 70 now and my numbers are high.😞 hope surgery will fix that.

I got my gallbladder out in 1996 and not one doctor told me what to eat or what to do if I experience problems. They just told me "you're all good now just try to eat healthy. I can eat most everything except eggs. When I eat eggs, I would get nauseous and immediately vomit. Before and after my surgery I eat eggs all the time but after my last child was born in 1999, I developed problems with certain foods and one of the foods was eggs. I thought I was just allergic to eggs and never really connected the two. We're in 2018 and I give my thanks to you. I know what's going on now. No doctor ever told me why I couldn't eat eggs. I guess they didn't connect the two situations either. So thank you.

Eggs are very high in cholesterol so they are hard to digest without the gallbladder pumping a lot of bile at once, so the body just rejects them by vomiting them out.

Nice to have a back up.....and also post op pain...they don’t tell you about that......

Thank you so much for sharing. After experiencing 8 acute pancreatic episodes over 7 months, with the last two occurring back to back, the ultrasound finally detected gall stones. Before that it was just sludge. Although I had changed my diet the episodes didn’t stop. I wish I would have seen your video before the surgery and used those products. But I can use them now. Your story gives me hope for how to live without a gall bladder. I also recommend the book: Living Well Without A Gall Bladder by Brooke Keefer.
May you continue to live in good health. God bless you!

@Greg George, thank you for making this video! I am probably having my gallbladder removed soon. My story is 4 years in the making. I tore my bicep and had surgery to reattach it which went very well but I had months of recovery and therapy! Then my now ex-wife left me with my kids; I was a stay at home dad so the next thing I know is I'm homeless. So you can see that the stress factor is rising fast! So I got my arm healed up and my surgeon cleared me to go to work and I found work soon after. So I'm starting to get accustomed to life after separation and then one day I wake up in the middle of the night with heart attack like symptoms. My chest right below my sternum is in tremendous pain, like 8 out of 10! My heart is racing, I'm sweating, all of that. I went to the ER and they hooked me up to an EKG and took blood. The ER doctor then told me my heart was fine and I wasn't having a heart attack. Whew!!!! This has happened numerous times in the past few years, 5 times sending me to the ER. I had to go to the ER last Thursday, the 5th time, and the ER doctor did the same EKG and blood work, only this time he had the wherewithal to have an ultrasound done which concluded that I had a medium size gallstone. He told me that this could be the cause of the chest pain and heart attack like symptoms and recommended that I have my gallbladder removed. I'm going to my primary caregiver at the VA tomorrow with the ultrasound CD and discuss my options. The dread of having another episode causes anxiety and panic sometimes. I kept having anxiety attacks in the early morning chronically and couldn't figure out why! I think this is all linked together and if taking my gallbladder out is the answer then I'm all for it. That is where your video comes in. Thank you!

Hope they get you figured out. If you are using a lot of caffiene, I would recommend pulling back, as that was a big one for me in terms of anziety, and GI distress.

Had my gallbladder removed a month ago. I’m fortunate that I’m recovering fine. Very few foods upset my stomach and when it does get upset it’s not terrible. I don’t have any of these crazy side effects. I can eat just about anything except super dense fatty foods of course. I do have low energy though so I’ll have to check out multi vitamins.

    • @iamgreggeorge
      @iamgreggeorge  5 років тому +4

Glad to hear it isnt too bad. For the energy, I would also try a digestive enzyme, as it can help you absorb more nutrients since your GB isnt giving you as much of those needed chemicals.

Thanks for all the helpful tips from everyone. Had quite extreme Jaundice so had my gall balder out last week, ironically still have the itching and nausea which lead me to see the doctor in the first place. Was rushed back into hospital yesterday and they said all the poison may not have left my system. If any of you have itching living in hope it all goes for you...surprisingly challenging to deal with

Thanks so much for taking the time to put this information out there ....my Dad (86) had his gall bladder removed more than 5 years ago and has been suffering with the majority of the symptoms you describe ever since! The doctors prescribed antibiotics for him last week (!) because they don't know what to do. I can see that this might make things worse, but I have spoken to my local health food store and will collect the things you recommend later today.

    • @iamgreggeorge
      @iamgreggeorge  6 років тому

You ay check into Gastroparesis. Damaged vagus nerve while having the surgery makes the stomach move slow - thus causing all the symptoms. Antibiotics sound like more trouble vs better living. :-(

I'm glad I ran into this video.. I just had mine removed the 6th of this month.. I don't understand the whole thing but it seems to be worse then diabetics meals. I had to change my doctor after Sergey because this all could of been prevented if my doc. Did his job right..instead of telling me awe it'll be ok it's just gas.. there's a few other issues I've had with him about other things I've suffered threw.. so now thanks god for helping me find a doctor who is now letting know all that's going on inside of me that could of been prevented years ago. Now I'm scared, I found out after my surgery I'm type 2 diabetes.. Lord knows what else. But thank you for speaking on this subject I will be looking forward to more. I feel doomed now for staying with the wrong doctor. I will bring these things to my new doctor that you've talked about n see what he says.. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Hi Rudy. For your diabetes, you may want to check out Dr. Jason Fung. He is a Canadian nephrologist specialised on treating diabetes through diet and controlled fasting. He has a lot of free stuff on the Internet and also some books.
