Our PG&E bill for our 2300 sq ft home in the summer in Northern CA, A/C kept at 77F, with a 20% discount was around $700/month. With our house here in Columbia, 1900sq ft, AC kept at 71… all of our utilities combined have never surpassed $200/month. We are in heaven. 😂

If you have a plug-in car, you can get a lower rate for charging at certain times of the day. We did that for a while. It helped a little bit. Another issue is that there might be power shutdowns to prevent possible fires due to dry conditions and power lines. No fun the last week when it was over 100 degrees and there is no power.
Nice to see an Armenian last name in TN. I'm new here and am involved with building an Armenian community out here. Every day it feels more and more like it's the right location for the cool projects we have in mind. Every new comer I know has a UA-cam channel, quite interesting :)
This is absolutely true! We left nor cal 2 hrs ago. Our 1500 square foot house was on average 275 a month. Easily 100 more during summer.

This is true that the rate is higher in CA, but the income is generally higher as well. The job market is much better in CA than in TN. For example, registered nurse makes 151,640 a year in CA compared to 70,900 a year in Nashville.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your input. I’m just talking about electricity though. We could go back and forth all day long comparing all the different costs, taxes, fees, and incomes.

Oct 2024 Southern California, Beaumont specifically. Currently 60 cents per kw 5-9pm. If I remember correctly, off peak 31 cents per kw. Tesla super charging has been creeping up. Now at 46 cents per kw. I want to move but wife has family here in California. So many fires again all around us. Trying to breath is terrible. Current temps are hovering around 100 degrees. Unusual for our area this time of year. O yeah, we have a solar payment close to 200.00 per month plus usually a small or zero monthly payment to SCE. Currently looking at owning even more money at our 1 year payment at around $1000.00 to Sce. Net metering stuff. We are on net metering 2.0. So confusing on how they have us pay. 😢 1500 Sq ft house. Thermostat set at 75.

In California we want to destroy hydro-electric plants and our last remaining nuclear plant. We also switched to a smart grid system which cost more to maintain (smart meters and networks they need to communicate with). People here dislike cheap natural gas powered plants, they love solar, but complain about high cost of energy. Taxes on energy and lastly, politics. Green energy sounds good until you spend $$$$ to heat or cool your house. Enjoyed the video.

TVA gave us many electricity producing sources so we have a surplus of electricity. I don't understand why she wants to be vague about it.
