@null1023 Yup, only 5 levels but they are hard levels lol. I did eventually manage to see the ending, but I doubt I’ll ever beat it with any finesse like a 1cc etc.
Damn I used to play this game all day with my Play Station 1 when I was in elementary school (more than 20 years ago), but I never actually beat the game
I remember picking this up for PS1. I still have my big box copy complete with the little foam insert and everything. I wish they had added more features for the home version. But if I remember correctly it’s pretty much a straight up, no frills port of the arcade game.
It does have an arranged soundtrack... but its mediocre at best and doesn't fit the game at all. The PS1 port has very little to no slowdown making it the best home port, though, which was impressive(for some reason the Saturn version had tons of slowdown even though it was better with processing 2D graphics).

As an R-Type player, I immediately recognized those yellow things first appearing at 8:50 ;) Interesting. It looks almost exactly like the Bg-Pf Pistaph from the R-Type series.
You might already know, but the player submarine itself is also present in R-Type. It's first included in "R-Type Tactics 2: Operation Bitter Chocolate" as a buildable unit, and returned in "R-Type Final 2" as a playable ship.
Yep, because the genesis sound chip was created with the intention to mimic arcade soundtracks! I used to prefer the SNES sound chip, but in the right hands the genesis could sound rediculously great, and its become my favorite for that reason. I really need to listen to more Amiga stuff but from what I have heard it could sound amazing in the right hands as well!
Wow. For real. I never knew about this game, thanks due to the youtube recomendations finaly see this and... truly amazed of oldschool arcade. Especially backgrounds and boss on 5th stage. Though complete walkthrough takes only half an hour, but it also obvious how difficult it is. And I can't help but wonder, how it's remake would look?..

@@CubamusPrime I wasn't saying that the game wasn't on SNES. My point was that there's no way that an SNES game would have looked this good.
