Oh, a lil vlogger tip, to keep your videos from looking cloudy, clean your lens front and back before filming. You'd be surprised at how dirty our lenses get just from us touching the phone.

Those are too small. Yes they're cool. But they're not practical. They're also very hard to work on. Too compact. Very expensive to maintain and upkeep.

well for one thing: Mateo and Lars are fulltime.
Second: I park my 35 ft bus motorhome anywhere it fits and nobody hassles me.
Third: My bus and all obvious mobile dwellings are protected by the "castle doctrine" just like all residential dwellings, which means, I have the right to end someone's life if they enter my dwelling, my place of living and I'm in fear for my life... I don't think that applies to stealth campers as nobody wouldn't even know someone was living inside. Good luck with that one if that ever happens!!!
I've been living in my bus for amost 10 years since I rented my house out... Little sprinter vans are tiny I looked at em!! But to each their own woman, I'm glad it works for you.... I on the other hand, could never deal with one of those for a number of reasons..
On the other hand, let's just hope and pray we all stay safe in today's world!!

OK cat situation. Wooden pellets help with smell. You need to get a small hooded tray to contain smell. Bleach out your litter tray and throughly wash down once a week . Put tray in front passenger seat on the floor. Cat nip will draw him to use it. That's what you need to do, also on next van. Build a space in van for your cat. Just use what you have for now with the van. Don't rush into buying another as you only just started this journey.
A clean space is important no matter where you live for your mind. Stay blessed. 🇬🇧 part-time solo camper.

the ONE no-budge requirement when it comes to my own #vanlife plans is being able to stand up. i have seen you work well with that space, though, doing things like sitting and cooking outside, but yeah, i think i would have to be able to stand up!
oh, and as a person who had a cat for a very long time and who now has a dog that uses puppy pads (so, basically, they both went inside) - #vanlife with a cat has to be an EXPERIENCE. my cat could clear a room with one of her businesses, i can't imagine being in a closed van. my dog is WAY less stinky, bless his tiny heart.
I'm sure chuckling about the tube of biscuits popping open...it is startling when they pop unexpectedly....had that happen😁

The best thing about staying in Asheville is that downtown is always an exit or two away from free roadside and national forest camping. Free, quiet nights and fun filled days in town or hiking the beautiful landscapes.
I did a full Blue Ridge Parkway drive from Virginia to Asheville this summer! well worth it and plenty of beautiful places to cook during the drive and easy access to quiet, chill sleep spots to park just off the parkway exits into towns.

Great video, Mateo: Say hi to Lars for me. You are describing drivers in Michigan and now I know where Michigan drivers learned to drive at, Ashville North Carolina. Michigan drivers are another reason for me to beat feet out of Michigan and never come back. Michigan is a great state in the summer for camping and recreation. But when the witch of November comes calling and turns Michigan into an icy hole, this is when I want to make a B line down south and never come back.-Happy trails😀

Just a little tip on the kitty litter in case you haven’t potty trained Lars, the Tiny Cats Black Label is the best litter I have ever bought. My sister in law recommended as she has 4 cats at home. After recommending it, I’ve had to change the litter less often and only clean it out when Lucky (my cat) goes. It does tend to track a bit but the reduction of smell makes up for it big time.

Look up van roof extensions. You can get your roof extended and cut the top out. Not to say you don't need a longer van...but if you don't get a sprinter van....it might be cheaper to get an extended length ford ecoline or dodge and just get a roof extension built. I think its made with fiberglass??

There is a Campground on Mt Pizga on the blue ridge parkway outside Ashville. One warning, get back to camp before dark when the clouds roll in your winshield will look like a white sheet, I had to look out drivers door and follow the yellow line to get back very scary as the passengers side of the car there are deep Revines.

Catit Jumbo Hooded Cat Pan I did a search on the internet. This one seems big for your van but when you get a bigger one a litter box like this may come in handy.

Im really digging these longer videos! I wish the hightop vans weren't so expensive. In my neck of the wood, a rusted out 200,000 plus mile hightop that doesnt even run goes for $10,000 up!

New to your channel and have been binge-watching to try to catch up on your van life. Ok I subscribed to help you reach your goal. Since you're not gonna be able to train Lars to differentiate between a urine diverter and the solids separator, just get a simple bucket system using sawdust or coconut husk and line that bucket with a compostable bag that you can take out every day or two and toss in a dumpster. You can use a pee jug to help keep things more manageable, but a regular composting toilet won't work for Mr. Lars. Besides it will be much cheaper than one of those fancy like Nature's Head toilets.👍

I had my three cats with me in my Jeep SUV thee wasn't any smells. One day I struck up a conversation with a lady at an overlook in Colorado. When she noticed my cats, came over to rub their belly's. She was so surprised that there wasn't any smell at all, I mean she was blown away by that. I had a litter box with the covered top with a insrt portion with hole used to pull wetness to the bottom and I usel crystal litter. I scooped twice a day. I went to car washes once every 5 days and dumped out old litter in hefty bag and sprayed out box and added the fresh litter. This was my regimen for three years while living in the Jeep. I had to test out different litter in the beginning and found a brand that works s best. Good luck on training Lars to use potty...sounds like an awesome idea. 😊

anyone else love that he used the dull side of the knife to cut the peperoni? How sharp is the sharp edge? Love your friend she is full of joy! Also check out Marrow Mountain outside Albemarle, NC. It's gorgeous!! ALso the camping is cheap, not free, but cheap with shower houses. The deer come up to your camp area and it's a great hike through the hiking trails.

I am also looking for a can I could stand up in. But i don't want to spend an arm and leg for one. I think the Cargo Hightop vans are thousands of dollars cheaper than the sprinter vans, everything is cheaper (oil change, etc).

Oh my! I have had that happen to me once but those biscuit cans are like exploding torpedoes ended up with biscuit dough on the ceiling 😂😂. Be careful with those cans they are dangerous lol. It is possible to teach cats to use an actual toilet uses a lot of patience and rewards for them. Hopefully Lars catches on quickly cat's are very smart. Moving on I'm still binging your vids taking breaks here and there so it is taking a long minute but I'm sticking with it. Safe travels. Be well.

Hey Im watching this and thought of at least an idea to try before you get your new van . Try pine pellets the best are ones you can buy at a tractor or farm store( where you are traveling it seems like iit would be easy). These wont track any liter are way cheaper! No smell at all and much more enviormentally friendly

Omg. I m eating Asian style candied ginger because u got serious heart burn from a procedure . But I love ginger everything ! You should try it. We have so much of it around Lunar new year. Helps with nausea and vomitting and while u are under the weather .
