How to Brew, Blend and Bottle Beer - Sour Saison - Part 3
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 гру 2019
- In the final part of this beer brewing series, we show you how to bottle a Sour Saison and then taste it at the end after the beer aged for a few weeks. Bottling beer is how many people store their finished homebrew beer and its a very easy process that doesn't require very much equipment or effort. This homebrew recipe will make a complex sour Saison beer that is great to share with family and friends during the holidays or a party. We recommend that you brew this beer with a Clawhammer Supply system and then pair it with a Thanksgiving or holiday dinner that consists of turkey, ham, chicken, and salad. Check out the resources below for a full recipe, brewing equipment, previous videos in this series, and other things that were mentioned in this video.

Whoever did the voice over for the troll comments was comedy. This is the best series of videos you guys have done and very interesting looking beer.
I am an aussie home brewer and I love watching your vids! A video about blending beers where you almost forgot to actually blend the beer! Classic!!! 🤣
I'm glad you guys just laugh at the shitty comments. There's no reason to take home brewing this seriously. just have fun and see what you can make.
professional or not - that's all subjective anyway. I watch your channel because you guys are humble as hell, and super mature / charismatic. I usually open up all my subscriptions on youtube in a million different tabs, but if I see a new Clawhammer I watch that first without question. I love your channel and feel like mistakes are one of the more fun parts of brewing anyway. If people want strict regimens and predictable results, they should just buy their beer. Homebrewing is all about experimenting with new ideas.
My wife's friend's called me a doofus when I'm brewing, when I subscribe to watch your show. I put you guys on the big screen. So I could watch and listen to your show through out the house when on. Several shows later, I'm no longer a doofus. Thanks guys
Guys keep doing what youve been doing. Brewing is about having fun and not about 100% success rate. All your "fails" show us that even pros can f up. Keep up the fun.
Beer making is supposed to be fun and creative, that's what these guys do, making it fun!!!!
The productions value and editing of the videos made by this channel is amazing. Also this is such a great way of showcasing your product.
And let it be know I decided I could home brew because I watched this channel. I'm a huge visual learner, so seeing the process so clearly gave me the basic understanding I needed to kick off brewing my first beer. Supplemented of course with pointers from a local brewery.
6:35 cheers for including that comment. I loled very hard when it came up. You guys are my favourite brewing channel by far! :)
Lol. Thanks. We were kinda poking fun at Emmet with that one.
Couple things with the Belgian bottles and corks...
First, don't go quite so far into the neck. There should be enough cork sticking out that the cage will tighten in between the two ridges at the base of the neck (not below the bottom mmost ridge.) Also, the corks will be easier to remove after aging a few months. Also, I've seen people use a clamping mechanism to compress the part of the cork sticking out the top to get it to mushroom out a bit. I haven't tried that myself yet, but will soon.
Good vid, though. Don't listen to the haters.
Yall are literally my favorite brew channel!! Keep it coming!!
Loving the stream of releases. Keep em comin!
I love your show/videos. Thank you! No one is perfect, but you can laugh at yourself. That is the best thing with dealing with the 'oh fudge moments'. Thank you again and Cheers
I always look forward to content from Clawhammer, these guys are hilarious! Nice looking sour saison! 👍
Never change the way you brew or make the videos.. love your style! Cheers from Norway!
I love the highlighting of the bad comments. I enjoy the videos much more than other brewing channels
Best video yet guys! I am going to try brewing a sour blend now! Cheers!
For sure got me in the mood for a good sour beer
Definitely more pro than me, keep it up guys really enjoyed this one.
Great. I have a beer that I am going to blend with a sour. Good stuff.
Seems like a normal bottling session for home brew. Which is what you are showing how to do. Good times and many opportunities to learn what to and not to do. like Charlie said relax and have a home brew. Keep on kicking out the videos guys.
Nice looking beer guys nice work from the uk cheers 👍🍻
Sweet idea of doing the PBR in the dishwasher!
You do have a bottle rack... The dish washer. After using PBW, spray with sanitizer just cuz, then place the bottles in the dishwasher.
Digging it. Now I'm interested in a blended beer... You guys give me too many ideas! No comments from me on the corks though! I've never used them for beer, only for wine.
I have to imagine that log yeast leftovers added to the saison...cause that's kind of what saisons do, just be a little wild and see what happens. I would have loved to have tried this beer!
I like the old rusty box
(I say that with russian accent)
New style of videos is pretty good and entertaining :)
Love it guys, love your videos. They are real, sometimes brewdays don't go how you want, least you leave it in and don't edit that shit. Love the PBW in the dishwasher.
Those corks are for wine bottles so you need a cork screw to retrieve them, to open with just your hands, you need the champagne kind of cork that has like a thicker part at the top so you can pull from it.
Try running the PBW in both directions if the plate chiller to get in all the hard to reach spots.
It's true that you mess up most your uploaded brews, or just make a mess every time. Still your vids are addicting, well made, and you guys are fun.
Love the low budgetness of the whole channel. Keep it up guys. For all the beer douches out there who take it seriously get a life and enjoy it for what it is. A bunch of guys having fun brewing.
Love the concept and look forward to trying something similar myself!
What grist/recipe are you using to get that awesome colour in the solera beer?
Don’t listen to the haters. You guys are awesome. Quality infotainment. Keep it up, let’s get drunk! (Well, all good things in moderation but, you know 😉😄😃) p.s. loving the new editing style/quick cuts ala bon appétit 👌🏻👍🏻
the haters will always hate doing a good job for sure !
8:20 - have you ever used powdered dextrose instead of the carb drops? You can get your added sugars to be more accurate and end up with a more consistent carbonation between all your bottles. I do 180g dextrose dissolved in 400ml water and add that to secondary fermenter before racking the beer from the primary - this gives me a good carbonation for 15L of beer. The calculators are online and definitely works better than carb drops imo.
Love you guys! This was a great series! I was wondering if y'all could link the labels you got! I brewed a gingerbread stout for Christmas this year and would love to bottle some of it for Christmas gifts and those labels would be the cherry on top!

I died when he said "JESUS CHRIST" after pulling that cork. 10/10 video
Dishwasher is the best bottle rack.
Do you guys have a link to the amazon vendor you purchased the labels from? Great job as always.
Hi, I just wonder, how could the wort chiller have been in contact with the wild yeast coming of the log. Awesome video that 'log' brew btw "me and my log ..". Chilling and fermenting are two different stages or have you used it later on some how? probably ..
I’ve used 1oz of table sugar dissolved in water per gallon with success
Does someone know if I can put chemipro oxy in the dishwasher ?
Just started doing some longer aging stuff and had no idea where to start with blending. Loved the videos and the labels look great! Do you have a link to them on amazon?

Clawhammer Represent!!! Fu@K the haters. Pro-brewers? lol. You all are getting paid (cashing checks and breaking necks) entertaining us all, passing on knowledge and making beer. Keep it up.
Legends. Lets get some new vids now!!
What if you used a smaller diameter cork and waxed the top after you caged it? That way no air can get in.
Keg it then transfer to bottles and cap it. Growler filler tap and tube.
Ok with the last video i thought you would blend in a bucket first and let it develop, but maybe that's not a good idea with the large surface area ^^ Those bottles look SWEET.
For sure they have to be high when brewing. It must be how they release their creativity.
To be fair, fucking it up and recovering from it and carrying on is a sign of strength. DWRHAHB
Carry on you magnificent bastards.
I made a cherry vanilla porter last year. I added my priming sugar before I bottled and gave it a good stir to make sure it’s evenly dispersed. I waited a couple of weeks before I opened it and there was barely any carbonation at all, barely a fizz. Was this because there was no yeast left to help carbonate the beer, how do I fix this for my future brews?
Add more yeast at bottling
@@ClawhammerSupply thank you, I appreciate your reply.
I don't get whys there shitty comments. Homebrewing is a shit show of stumbling around hoping something good comes out of it. y'all show the real side to the hobby.
Emmett rocking warby parker mission clay fade
Laughed my assss off at the hate comments in the video 😂😂
F*** those guys posting stupid, inflammatory s***... Been brewing a while and the best brew days I've had with the best product ever have been much worse appearing. You wanna know the difference? I didn't have a camera on me doing it! Lay off the s*** comments and acknowledge the dedication and work that went into educating more brewers! Trust me, we have a lot of room to grow as fellow brew enthusiasts!
** Edit: after watching the end, I would sacrifice a bottle to develop the flavor notes dialogue while filming. That said, I appreciate the genuine first reaction equally.
Just like Ivar said, "kvike" or "kvike".
One day we will nail it----most likely not-- thank god for that clip.
The only mistake you guys have made is being too god damn cool 😎
Do you know that there is a tool for opening wine bottles and it's called a corkscrew?
Do you know that you don't use a corkscrew to open sparkling wine and Belgian beer bottles?
@@Samtallica ofc but now it would have been handy
Is being a brewer pretty much being a glorified Janitor. Thats what my buddy, a brewer, always says hahaha
So comment section... whats wrong with being high?! Chill out and maybe get high? haha Or just quit taking everything so seriously haha brewing is supposed to be fun
Clawhammer is my favorite beer channel.
Critics are numbskulls.
Hear hear!!!!
Honestly, we read a lot of the comments and even if they are somewhat...ermmm...abrasive, we try to figure out what they're really saying and do actually use them to make changes to our process to improve the vids.
Metro Music uh cuz they’re real dudes, that’s basically their appeal. If you’re not into it, move on broseph.
What the hell are you guys doing, i hate when you're so organized! Gosh
La schiuma è inesistente...why?
7:26 STAY AWAY FROM THE KEG YOU ARE NOT A PROFESSIONAL!
I love the content but for the love of God burn that God Damn log already!
Can we get Rachel back in the videos only have her dress up real sexy like. Oh and trim that beard your starting to look like a red headed Sasquatch!
Don't be weird.
Lol, this comment def gonna be featured at some point.
