- Been a while! This update is two-in-one again.
The car is now finally destructible, has a stunt system, and the Creator boss has received a rework!

This game keeps getting better and better. I hope it's the kind of game that will, maybe in a year (things take time), get played by major streamers/youtubers and explode. You deserve it.
I haven't been able to play in ages, like legit months, but I think that's a good thing, because it means that when I come back, there will be so much new stuff to experience. god, I love this game.
Dude, the mos texciting thing about this devlog for me was your plans on making hellrazer wander around and eat corpses. I immideatly imagined them feeding and feeding on juice while getting bigger and bigger, eventually becoming giant kaijus tryingh to alien-abduct-suck you up from above.

i always loved that guy, his voice lines were so mysterious and made it seem like there was so much more to his lore and story
the fact he has "unlimited power" but can still be defeated made me imagine him in his current state is far from his old full potential, which made his broken animations fit oddly enough, like the poor writhing thing in front of you used to be sane and powerful
i never used the car before simple because there was nothing to do with it, but the recent updates to it make it look a lot more fun and a good excuse to not rush flying levels early
plus the little fixes to other things, and the behind the scenes stuff we're not seeing yet too, and ALL THIS with MULTIPLE breaks since last update
you're a legend dude, i look forward to every update, and hope fully a complete release one day

What you're describing in 4:10 to get the vehicle off the ground is, in simple terms, the affect of drag and sympathetic force. (Sorta, I'm speaking from personal experience on the matter, not professional education.)
Effectively, but creating drag on the wheels, you're making the vehicle want to tip. The vehicle wants to send all of it's weight in the direction of your inertia, but the drag on the wheels is a counter force happening fairly far away from the center of it's mass. Think like putting backspin on a ball or frisbee or something while throwing it forward, it'll skid until the weight of the object overpowers the friction from the backward spin. By adding a frontflip spin, you're pushing one end down and the other up, and the combination of all of this creates two situations where the vehicle wants to rotate up and to the side. The vehicle wants to spin left on it's own, and you're trying to make it flip forward with the extra force once it's moving, creating a circumstance where the path of least resistance is to get the hell off the ground.
But, coincidentally, that's pretty in line with how physics would behave in real life, so this phenomenon is right on point. Even the frontflip can be checked out for this if you've ever seen formula track vehicles start losing their shit at speed due to coincidental down force being applied unfortunately. (The Mercedes-Benz CLR is infamous for this behavior)

car is I think still strong, but atleast now its not just plain op, I also love the fact you gotta do stunts to heal it, its a whole other mecanic you gotta master, its like weapons you prefer, signature weapons or that kind of thing, I love a game which gives you different options and way to go

i think something that would be cool are like gorillas that could do a smash attack or like grab you or something. and maybe they could be really strong and hard to kill so you could shoot a banana gun to distract them

Having enemies barf some kind of "anti-juice" that does DoT would be cool, maybe they just spew a puddle as they try to sidestep their own mess. Maybe a monster that picks up and throws smaller monsters when they're in reach?

If there’s one thing with the new car thing I hope that there are new cars in the future and maybe even a parts system to upgrade them with! Don’t think engine oddities should be claimed as an entire feature or something similar so I would remark that maybe hydraulics and springs on the cars to make them jump or jump easier would be a cool idea but I get it, it’s what we got for now and personally I think this happening randomly is pretty cool! Mrs. Slithers touch up sounds great but may I suggest adding her husband into the mix too? I mean with the title “Mrs.” I assume she’s married, that’s be a cool and interesting idea in my opinion I hope this has been helpful regardless I don’t think you could really even ruin this game at this point it’s unique gameplay and charm is so good. Take as much time as you like as so far it’s paying off, and if anyone tells you anything less than “time is subjective” then send them over to the dev logs on dwarf fortress.
I would love to get modular car upgrades working, I was thinking flamethrower rocket boost, armor pieces, and yeah spring wheels lol

Also quick request, you know how insane bat knockback was in the earlier builds? Is there any way we could get a “super bat” that has that same sort of crazy knockback? It was really fun playing koalaphant ball with it and I miss the old insane bat knockback every day ✊😞

yo nice!! the stunt heals are a genius way to rebalance the car, and while i found it kinda charming that the creator was such a pushover the changes made to him are 100% for the better. the pink castle will be missed but i completely get why the area was remodeled lmao
say is the car also able to take damage from slamming into walls? that'd make for some cool kamikaze strats against charging enemies

If you ade going insanely fast your car will take some damage from slamming into walls, but the damage is quite minimal for now! Thanks ^^
it always brightens my days to see updates for this game. I feel like multiplayer would fit this game perfectly. Maybe you can create parties of up to 3,? something like that. I feel that this game is perfect for multiplayer :) and could lead to some really fun hijinks!

I hope this doesn't sound insulting, but I found the score calculator the most interesting. The function that is. It's clever math for proportioning the points with the number of trick, the amount of tricks and the time you took to execute it.
If you got a ton of air time, but only did a single flip, the TimeWhileAirborne value increase, the NumOfTrix only stays at 1. 1 divide by an increasing value is a lower and lower score.
Good incentive to keep flipping and doing tricks while airborne.

Before this I was actually thinking that the boss could have more depth, like the reason you literally kill the man who created everything as a first boss while you're simply a floppy ex student who just started existing, fed juice to a door with a mouth and just ran through. But everything just kinda fit in. Well, besides the creator, the new car systems are really nice. I just thought that a car that you find near an old graveyard should have limited durability or HP because a car never breaking, no matter what the situation is, does not make sense. And the car healing system is amazing. Now instead of stunts for fun, it's for fun and also required. Cannot wait for the game to grow. Maybe the boss would mysteriously revive and fight again, even stronger than before.

Adding some kinda short speed boost something as well as health could make it feel cool to do even at full health. Also a visual pulse or something could make it more obvious. Looks really fun man, I'm always excited to see this stuff

The creator attacks are so cool. The head slam reminds me of Radahn from Elden Ring's signature attack. very iconic
If you're worried about oneshots, maybe give the player a shield of some sort. Might also be worth making a value for attacks that multiplies damage dealt to shields/cars/players/etc. so you can fix problems as they come up, if something doesn't deal enough, or deals too much, damage to something.

So happy to see a difficulty spike on the creator, he used to be super underwhelming, but now he looks like he's actually pretty challenging. Can't wait to hop on juice galaxy and test out the changes. Overall the update looks really good. Keep it up!
For future bosses maybe you should add juice palace with guards and things like that with the juice queen that mrs. slitherless mentions while she asks about it in that pop-qiuz thing ? Also love the game and the devlog!

I have just come here after seeing the 0.2.1 update, and holy cow. This is amazing.
I'm just at 2:04 and I'm already blown away. You've actually made the car interesting. Last I played, it was in my opinion one of the most forgettable things in the game. That stunt ma'ar looks amazing.
I think it' sreally funny that the toe guy's best counter is hitting him with your car. Really makes sense when you think about it, you're literally running over his feet
I love its current status and how much of a sandbox type game it is, but I really think that advancing the plot with swirly D would be super cool.
I've gotten friends to play this game and they're hooked. And with these awesome updates I know for a fact that this game will be huge

I think if Creator *had* to be nerfed in some way, I would say to simply scale down his damage value and the level of the Pollywogs he spawns, since I notice there's very little room for error in this fight, which could turn off newcomers. Just a simple suggestion if you do feel the need to tone him down in some fashion, but other than that I am very pleased with the improvements he got.
i think is fine is hard! i think that is makes it fun too at the same time, to have to retry it. When I installed the game didnt think would find a boss battle this fun!
Why not have the Pink Castle lead to a large chamber where the Queen boss fight starts. Also you should really lean in on the Bee theme with Hexagonal structures and honey.
Will you ever remake the ms. Slithers boss as well? If so, will you also remodel the school like the evil cave?

It probably will get remodeled, if not now then at another point. I have some new ideas for the school I may implement.
I think the only bosses that need updated still are slitherss and the clog
Slitherss could have a fire breath attack, which would be cool
and the clog could have some kind of ranged attack as well
(also clog's HP could be a little lower lol)

Cool changes, I love the new creator's lair entrance, though I will miss the castle version too, with coalith prison cell and stuff. Also, I like some things being hidden in a way, like that creator's tunnel under pink castle - it creates a feeling of exploration and discovery, so I had no problem with it being hidden before. But if you plan on placing that castle somewhere else and hopefully some day make some new places to explore and discover, I don't see any problem with removing it from the basement. Overall these are quite nice changes, I like the car balancing system with damage and stunts, gonna test how it works with infinitely flying low-mass car. Do I get stunt points for touching the plywood sky with my wheels?
Haha yes you can land on the plywood and it'll count as a stunt
@@Fishlicka It does! landing on walls also counts. Anyway, there is a bug on my windows version where if I ride the car towards Hoagen's place the car glitches out and leaves the camera behind.

I think the Creator is suitable how he currently is. His fight felt like a wake up call to handle bosses more strategically than how basic enemies were handled.

There should be an enemy called a Polly wolly wog which is like a regular poly wig but instead of it being a weird olive thing, it’s an ONION monster, and I hate onions so our goober friend probably hates onions too.

6:57 How come the Monsters allow Mr. Fox to live in the Evil Cabin? Do they think of him as one of their own? Would be interesting if Mr. Fox actually have a civil relationship with the Monsters in the Cabin and become irritated if you kill them.
My headcanon about the Creator is that it is not the actual Creator but a rejected Avatar that the real Creator abandoned to the Evil Cave due to his malevolence. His malice became so intense that it corrupted the very land itself, creating evil creatures like Hellgrazers and Cuddlebugs in the process.
The Cabin could be the "Creator's" former home before his banishment, and Mr. Fox found it comfortable enough to live there as its new tenant.
Being trapped there for who knows how long, the Avatar became a madman who would eventually spread his corruption across the entire Wilderness...unless a certain Student doesn't stop him first.
i did all the things you could do on the new update. the evil cellar feels a lot more complete but the boss arena not so much.

I normally never leave 2 comments on one video, but a reddit user and Myself have both found strange pollywog-like plants out in the creator's plane. they are fairly far out, and are spaced VERY far apart. (usually like 5-10 monster levels apart.) They don't *seem* to do anything, but I didn't try everything. is this something you're willing to comment on yet, or is this something for later?
They don't currently do anything, they are a work in progress I added just for fun-- for now.
