- 2023 is the last year Dodge is making the Challenger and Charger Hellcat with the magnificent 6.2L Supercharged Hemi V8. After this it's all electric so today we pay homage to the last Hellcat to be made, the 2023 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak.
It started in 2015 with the first Hellcat and it's 707HP which was ground breaking at the time, fast forward to today and the Jailbreak has 807HP (Same as a Demon) and 707Tq.. It's an absolute tire shredding animal and I love it! It was fun while it lasted.

Glad to see you back, Mike. You’re one of the realest ones out here. So hard to relate with these other guys that purchase a quarter million dollar car every other week.
It’s entertaining regardless if it’s a 5k dollar car or a 500k I personally watch for the creators not so much the price of the car just gotta be entertaining to the viewer.
This is so sad. I drive an R8 and I’m so disappointed that they won’t be making them anymore. It’s such an amazing machine as Im sure the Hellcat is. This world just sucks more and more everyday. Electric… blah boring. Great video man. I’d love to get my hands on one of these 😊

It is just about the end of fun rides. Every manufacturer has something enjoyable fast and fun and that is what we are losing. I was bummed years ago when VW decided not to send the Scirocco here and that was just one car. Now we are just losing it all. This is despite the fact that no country has a power grid capable of running an all electric society

I agree with you Mike! I don't care if an EV has a 1000 HP, they will never be the same! Pisses me off. The government messing with the American V8.....bullshit! I'm glad you have the TRX. Why can't we have both? That way folks that want an EV, 4 cylinder, can have that as well. 😪
Just bought this for my wife. She is just learning what she has. She is like a little kid. It is awesome that she is smiling for the same reason you are!
I have this exact car.. the thing is when you learn the car you’ll know when the tires are wanting to make it float. I suggest to anyone who loves muscle cars don’t be afraid of them but learn your car and what it does and do not play with it if you aren’t comfortable because this is a BEAST
Loved this! I’m super disappointed in the way the industry is shifting. I just don’t think EV’s are going to be as much fun🙁
In 2015 I bought dodge challenger rt plus. Like he said all those hellcats started coming out. For 8 years I had to watch everyone have fun in their hellcat. I just got a new 2023 Dodge challenger hellcat srt! Can't wait! To join the club..
Great car. Just bought a 2023 SRT Jailbreak. What a fun car. Got the F8 Green. Turns heads when it is still and then you start this monster up. BAM !! The V8 and the supercharger sound can't be beat !!!

It’s crazy that these have 275s in the back. My 370Z has 275s. My Camaro SS had that from factory with 455 horsepower and they weren’t wide enough for that car with summer tires. Having the widebody is basically a must if you want to hook up at all in a hellcat.

As an EV driver myself - couldn’t have said it better. A muscle car is all about the noise and it’s really a sad ending to a wonderful era of beautifully singing cars. These cars will appreciate in value like crazy.

I have an 89 Fox . In the summer I don't use the AC because the sound( like you said) is music to my ears. I believe its the same with this beast. Great video !

It’s crazy that yesterday I walked into LW to buy that literally same exact car you did this video with… and it was sold the night before. I went to another dealership and picked up a b5 blue jailbreak with 9 miles on it. I have never been more excited in my life… but it’s wild I found this video with the car I almost bought a day after that happened and then ended up buying a different jailbreak instead

Mike that car fits you like a glove brother. It's black it's fast it's loud and it's insane. It ticks all the boxes. Personally I would have loved to see a Cuda version of these cars but Dodge decided to take a dump on a really really good car that just needed a 10 speed auto and fatter tires and a upgraded dash. Expect Dodge sales to fall into the ground in 2024
The car in this video is the Jailbreak 717hp and 656ft-lbs version, it's not the 807hp Redeye or Super Stock engine. Look at the supercharger and belt. No green belt, and no Redeye supercharger logo.

I really enjoy this video. The reaction you have to the engine sound is so accurate. I love the " Hi Mr Mailman comment as you are ripping down the road is so funny. The Hellcats are just such a awesome experience to drive.
It never will sound as amazing as 70s muscle. But, modern challenger has that charger whine... and lots of power. That's why I want one.
This looks and feels like pure joy. Emotions, that can rarely be found somewhere else. How can they take it away from us?

I have a 22 Jailbreak. Was going to get a 23 but they changed nothing for the 23 model except the Last Call badge so I’m sticking with my 22.
They made a huge change on the scat packs. Base interior no longer has seat logos

Great video Mike, that thing is a beast! The sound is just unreal, ultimate tire slayer. We’ll have to continue to enjoy these amazing cars as the rest of the world goes electric, I prefer my V8’s as well haha never giving that up

Auto Vlog Awesome Review I think that Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak is absolutely incredible in every way and btw that's not Redeye because it doesn't have the Redeye Badging or Animation on Startup and the dash doesn't go to 220 and I agree with everything you said
That sounds so fast and unique. I would love to own a Hellcat 😼but for now I am just getting use to my dodge challenger RT . Baby steps.

As an EV owner, i still can't believe they're not going to make them anymore. Last one i seen howl was in maine in the summer, and the guy let it loose when the light changed in front of a trooper. Trooper didn't do anything. It sounded so vicious. It sounds like power. Hope to see and hear one again.
I only have a TRX and I do what you did in the vid all the time and becuz this year is the last year for the hellcat I don't think I'm ever going to get rid of my truck I surprised and scared myself almost everyday and I love 😎🇺🇲🙏

Totally disagree that they want to make electric challenger for now on. A challenger is not an electric car at all. Me personally I have the SRT V8 but my husband has the SRT JAILBREAK and is absolutely amazing nothing can be compare to this monster. We love it!!!!!!
A little misinformation. the Hellcat Jailbreak and the Redeye Jailbreak are not the same. dodge has definitely misled everyone into thinking they are the same this year but the car you have- the "regular" hellcat jailbreak- produce 717hp. the engine gives it away, the HO version of the 6.2 has black heads and a green belt, not orange and black respectively.

I thought Mike was going to breakdown when he started thinking about the replacement. Lol
I'm not sad if anything I think they are just going to take it away to bring it back at a later time and make demand crazy . Meanwhile I think the stock in aftermarket manufacturers making superchargers will take off during the absence. I thought for the final versions to make them special they should've stripped the vehicles down to barbones and made them as light as possible .
So an electric like motor in the next muscle car. Yea cars will get quieter and quieter, til we hear nothing at all but the slight whine of the electric motors buzzing as the cars quietly zip by. If we can even hear that.
Nice to see you back. Loved your videos for the car reviews. I am interested to see what the future holds for the auto industry going electrified. Sure I will miss the growl of a V8. But I do love my hybrid Fusion. Driving her until the wheels fall off, then trading it for a Toyota Camry Hybrid.

I get your point but while this boost 800+ HP, electric cars boost that and more. It is insane the Tesla S faster trim is as fast or more than this while using no gasoline. crazy stuff.

i think i like the narrow body more actually.
There is something I will never understand when somebody’s going to purchase a Hellcat or scat pack.
Why not go all out and get the widebody version? Two years ago in 2021 my wife and I purchased a 2021 Challenger R/T scat pack widebody shaker. We threw the options book at it and basically options it out with every possible add-on. They might not be the most sophisticated or the fastest muscle cars out there. But they are so much fun to drive.
I like my narrow body Scat shaker and got a good price on it. I didn't feel like spending an additional 6k
