I know gura's old vtuber avatar and I know how she really looks like. She's actually a beautiful black haired lady with glasses or sometimes without it. She's a 9/10, probably in age range 23 now, I don't know if she's tall or short but in my opinion she's probably 5'6 (which is my height). I don't know her voice though and haven't heard her speak her real voice. Her old avatar's voice is really cute too.

My mom is 5 feet and it happened to her all the time when she was younger. Hell it happened to me, i didn't hit my growth spurt until high school and got mistaken for a kid all the time in jr high.

The fact that someone was watching so closely that they called her arms chopsticks was enough then comes the partial hand during the food stream. My understanding of it is that when I saw just how they all spoke of her since the first off-colab. They all say cute over and over like they are talking about a plushie or one of the chibi characters. I think even A-Chan mention hers and Ina’s height. Can’t remember exactly it may have just been that Ina was talk to her.

Oh that brings back memories. I'm from Northern Europe and my height is 194 cm. It was quite an experience visiting Korea and Japan. My height was never an issue here in Europe, but there it was quite difficult especially when you needed to enter somewhere. For example there was a shop that had a glass top and it was completely see through (it was very clean and I wasn't paying attention to it). I smashed my head directly at it and almost broke it. Toilets are another story. Everyone were looking at me when I visited, not sure why.

Every clip I've ever seen of Calli trying to say something nice about someone has come out like the bit with her talking about meeting Gura. She never does it without tripping over her own shoelaces and blundering into some backhanded compliment, then frantically backpedaling when she realizes too late what she's done. It's so at odds with her intended persona that it cracks me up every time. She's that kid we all knew in high school who was cool as heck right up until the point where she tried to talk to someone. :)

To my knowledge and based on vtubers I have seen or previously known their irl figures, their vtuber models are made to fit their figures or be at least close to it. Probably to make it easier for them to be their characters.
Makes it easier to sync the rigging, so the movements would be smoother, especially in 3D.
Well that would explain how Lui got those hips. Makes sense.
They don't always fit though. Good examples would be both Kiara and Marine and their huge behinds not matching the 3D models.
I think the height is the most important aspect when it comes to 3D. You want the movement to look realistic and natural after all. Body type is probably not as important but they try to get it close if they can

People often miss the fact that Hololive sizes the character models relative to the people behind the character. Yes, things like breasts are often misportrayed (Noel's are famously larger than her model depicts) but things like height, shoulder width and arm length are all important to accurate performance of the model while doing choreographed dancing and other such things. Taking that combined with the mountain of other evidence (including Gura's own stories of being mistaken for a child) and it's safe to say she is actually a real life loli.
These people do exist. And there are a lot of people out there whose insistence that they do not exist makes life difficult for these unfortunate individuals. Imagine poor Gura trying to go on a date...people would be screaming at whoever she was with.

LaMinus' model had some rigging issues because the actor's eyes are at horn height, but they seem to have fixed most of it now.
@Sin Zones I meant to stipulate the 3D model. I thought that was clear based on the fact that I referenced choreographed dancing, but apparently you missed that.
As for the Live2D, you are still wrong. The talents are given a character description to audition for, but the models are not created until after the candidate is chosen. The talents are able to input on the character design process, though their input may be rejected for one reason or another. Gura said once that she asked if she could have an ahoge and was told no, but her other inputs were accepted.
Finally, I go outside more often than most people have in the past 3 years. Gura herself has mentioned having these problems in her life, all I did was extrapolate to a social situation that she could potentially find herself in. Why you think that's such a stretch, I can't fathom. I never even mentioned the terminally online, and I didn't say she would be recognized as Gura. Obviously you have never witnessed a Karen scream at a man in public for daring to take his daughter to lunch, based on your answer. That or you didn't actually understand what I said. Either way, I hope this late clarification helps. Vtubers are people, who are capable of doing things any person can do. If that concept is a stretch to you, I don't know what to say.

Yes, I have friends below 5ft that exchange bear hugs with me as greetings. And the variance of those friends are male, female and even a few tall and statuesque gay friends.
