About a week ago I watched the interview Rick Beato did of Michael Omartian. It took me about two days to watch the whole interview. I enjoyed. I remember Michael Omartian from listening to a lot of Christian Contemporary music days. These days I listen to a lot of Jazz, Black Gospel and current Christian artist like: Maverick City, Elevation, Marvin Sapp and Richard Smallwood.
I'll turning 70 in May. I play Keyboard at my local church.
Thank you for the discussion of Michael Omartian.
    Blessings and Shalom 🎶🎹🎶🎹🎶🎹❤👏👏👏🙂

Thank you for highlighting another great, Michael Omartian! I first heard his White Horse record in 1975 and was floored. Years later, in Nashville, I played with his son, Chris, a talented multi-instrumentalist. I was at their house and came in through an entry that accessed their laundry room and there was Peter Cetera pulling a shirt out of the dryer. :-)

Leland, thank you for the song shared today - “Annie The Poet”. I remember it from years ago and it was again a breath of fresh air. Such a gifted and talented musician and singer songwriter. If I recall, the song was about Annie Herring. Michael and Stormie had performed with The Second Chapter of Acts and I’m watching that concert tonight from 1975. All because of your channel and that song today. I’m not sure, but watching you listen today, told me that this was a special song to you as well. Please share your story about that song. for those of us who came to age during the seventies........ Thank you, Mr sklar.......... and thanks for acknowledging Michael Omartian.... one helluva musician and an ubiquious producer. He played keyboards on the debut album for Loggins and Messina ( and probably would have been the profucer if Jim Messina weren't around to produce it...). His musicianship was exceptional ( much like Mr Sklar's), and he labored out of the public eye..... even though he deserved more accolades than most of the artists he produced. He was on of the greats that only the folks that he worked with will ever really know.............

@@tobindoodle8901 Hi there, I have been sporadically catching up
the last few days myself, just having to do a lot of paperwork online, almost round the clock for what seems like the whole month. There's always some computer related glitch. One deadline after another all at the same time. It turned pretty cold here today, and will be the same most of tomorrow. I have maintenance coming tomorrow early. I'm somewhat surprised, that it actually seems like things are going to be fixed that I have been waiting for a long time. I may actually get to use the new dishwasher that I only tried twice in 2018, as the exhaust fan was never hooked up when the renovation crew brought it in. After three days of it not even drying by evaporation with the door open, twice, and me taking everything out to towel dry the inside of the whole thing, and just wash and dry what had been there by hand, I only ever used it as storage for clean dishes, which helped since the renovations had removed all the important cabinets elsewhere. I was told at the time corporate would not let any of the maintenance staff touch the dishwashers as they were supposed to be under some kind of warranty.
The really amazing thing that has been rendered inaccessible since 2016 for me, is going to be two washers and dryers retrofitted with money slots again, instead of the internet dependent silent useless card sliders they wired the same machines that are still in there up with after gutting the coin slots, which also never used to require an internet signal to complete a load. I just hope they didn't pick the two usual dud washer & dryers. I know they're the same machines from having cleaned them every time I used to go do all the wash in one fell swoop. Ironically I was told this before I had the chance to bring it up this time yet again, at lease renewal. Something is peculiar. The person said it was becoming problematic with sighted people to use the sliders now as well due to the only three cards those sliders accept. I've hand washed all these years now, everything, because I couldn't risk losing a whole checking account if the sliders had been hacked, and no way to be sure if a machine was offline, or saying it was out of order, and no transparency about cost per load. It's as if someone finally found the top of the nesting llcs, or maybe corporate has decided to try and partner with HUD, and then HUD has explained how the FHA would apply with or without them, and they just believed the HUD representative. I'm kinda nervous but prepared. I have to wonder if they think the volcano we're basically on top of will reactivate or what! ? I've cleared the kitchen galley for them, and just basically have to sleep and pull myself together before they arrive tomorrow.
Naturally clothes are drying in the tub right now. I also better go rinse the vinegar out of my dishcloths and hang them to dry as well. I think they also might switch my disposal out, and fix my screen door slide track. I tried to get my landline turned off and it turns out there's supposed to be a password for that, which is the craziest thing I've heard of. I have had it for years. I think I would remember that. I'm going to have go to the phone company store with my ID, and call the service with one of their phones, and ask for a new password, (and they don't mean the password to pay online). This was some three digit password. I was paid up through tomorrow which is why I was hoping to end the service a couple of nights ago, so no extra billing surprises could happen or anything. It seems like a momentary sign to keep the wired phone. Sorry I've written you a book here, but that's what's going on. 🤪
Was basically getting rid of the wired phone to cover the rent increase, although it helps my credit to keep the wired phone. So many negotiations have been crammed into every day my pinched brain feels like 🧠 Abby, ...something or other... ⚡️⚡️😅

Annie the poet is about Annie Herring from "Second Chapter of Acts" fame. She helped many come to Christ Jesus! She's "Found" the power and Saving Grace of Christ. Michael is and has been a miracle man of whole heart without FEAR! He's singing of finding the love and forgiveness by Grace Through Faith" in Jesus! So fantastic!! So powerful and beyond!! I love him so yet I've never had the privilege of meeting this HERO of the TRUTH!

Most fans have heard Michael Omartian's brilliant piano on Steely Dan's 1974 smash hit, "Rikki Don't Lose That Number." Treat yourself to his skills on a Steely Dan deep cut from 1975's "Katy Lied" album, the song "Any World (That I'm Welcome To)." Notable for being the only Steely Dan song to feature Wrecking Crew drummer Hal Blaine in all his glory.

Gosh! I haven’t heard this track for many years! I had the vinyl but it was destroyed in a flooded basement when I first moved to Switzerland at the beginning of the 90s.

Lee, I truly appreciate your talents and your contributions, but i respectfully disagree with your position on COVID. I got COVID twice, was wearing a mask, and I pulled through. I did research and there are as many and MORE who took the jab and got COVID anyway. It's not a vaccine. On your thoughts and sharing of Michael O Martian, he is one of my piano, arranger gods. He is truly one of the unsung greats of modern music. Thank you for sharing about him.

Annie the Poet certainly has a lot of changes but it doesn’t detract from the sentiment. Thanks for joining the dots on MO’s illustrious career.

Michael was the keyboardist and producer on "Arthur's Theme" one of my FAVORITE Jeff Porcaro drumming tunes and he played piano on the legendary "Aja" with drumming legend Steve Gadd.
So glad to know that he's a Christian.

Omartian is a genius. BTW, Annie the Poet is about Annie Herring of the 2nd Chapter. That record was known to we believers as "Adam Again."

Michael Omartian defined Christopher Cross' sound, as a musician and an producer. Coss always said Omartian is like David Foster without the ego... 😆

Well my daddy had White Horse, Adam Again, a couple Barry McGuires (SEEDS and LIGHTEN UP which you played on), Dion STREETHEART, Pratt & McClain HAPPY DAYS some of the tracks from the self-titled P&M on a CD called Omartian, Pratt & McClain, Andy Kim self-titled, Yvonne Elliman YVONNE, Christopher Cross's 1st album, and a few others Mike did, as Mike O'Martian like 5th Dimension INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY and Brother Love double-sided "So I'll Stay"... No Word artists, though... --

The piano playing was beautiful❣️ Love all these pretty songs you’ve introduced me too. Hmm as I do with most of the songs you play, I went to try and add it to my playlist off apple. Sadly I can’t find Onward nor Annie the Poet there :(

Leland you bringing up a lot of memories for me. I used to work in the Christian music business and Michael was a big influence for me. I worked for Sparrow and had been to Christmas parties with him at Billy Rays house. At the party were many artist and one of them was Annie Herring, this song is referring to her. His first two Albums were years ahead of their time. Even if I listen to them now they inspire me. You should share his song named Jeremiah from that recording.
