Filmed in Shrewsbury where I live... it's really clever how they changed many buildings to look so authentic. I remember the artificial snow and icicles. The night of the premier they had the stars arrive in horse drawn carriages...
Another great actor George c Scott. His portrayal of scrooge😂 was excellent . His brings much depth to the role . A great story given by a great actor.
17:38 I hope these two gentlemen's spirits are wandering freely and at peace with the world. Two very talented actors who are very much missed, god bless them both.
Yes! As a person with autism, it makes my heart droop to see that people don't read facial expressions and tone, not to mention words, and if they hurt someone, some people don't feel remorseful and repent of there actions. A reminder to everyone who reads this: Words and tone come out.....but you can't take your words and tone back once it comes out. May God and Jesus bless you.
@By-Matteo-Esposito words mean nothing even Wittgenstein said same. Obviously it means nothing without hearing the tone inflection and body language. Like reading any historical books we tend to imagine the words in our own imagination. Stupid philosophers use such example as this statement is true or l am a liar this statement is true. The foolish logic of these wise men of learning.
@By-Matteo-Esposito autism spectrum is just a name that has no meaning in itself,l.had my son diagnosed at 2 years old. Nothing was known about it almost 26 years ago. Incidentally the MMR vaccine was questioned by other parents in the change in their children behaviour. But the government had it's own expert's saying no evidence. Now it's been questioned in Australia a few years ago. The stress is from government and lack of information to help parents to know the causes. Many explanations have been suggested but all different and more confusing.
@@By-Matteo-EspositoUnless someone is being intentionally cruel with their words I don’t think people should be demonised for what they say or how they say it! People misspeak without realising it and sometimes they haven’t understood the issue. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you don’t like it then walk away!
@Roz-y2d How would we know that people aren't being intentionally cruel? Even if they say it nicely, we can assume that they meant it in a nice way. Assumptions are not good for both parties. For good and bad. We can't read each other's mind, so how would we know?
That seems a little excessive, Juana. You might need to seek help! How do you find the time to do things like Laundry, or Cooking? Clean your toilet? Does your husband do everything? Let me ask you this: Are you a Democrat? Dickens wrote this book at the height of Marxism in the 1800s. Maybe you just hate capitalism? Do you have a job?
Bob Cratchit had a lot of balls...lol It always struck me as being odd that miserly old Scrooge actually paid Cratchit for Christmas as a paid holiday. A lot of employers today don't show that generosity toward their employees... The rat bastards.
Should be updated to the welfare state of today All places are closed xmas day No trains or buses Familes at home celebrating Churches full of hypocrites The homeless on their own Charity is a every day affair Not an idol one day a year!
Hypocrisy is implied from very old words -bah hum-bug.1935 and 1951 do actually nearly involve Jesus birth in script....wow Jesus and Christmas ?? today society lives loving wars, wealth above love to God & neighbor
There is evidence that Charles Dickens was not the original author of "A Christmas Carol," but that he commercialized a manuscript co-authored by an American couple named Mathew Franklin Whittier and Abby Poyen Whittier. Dickens hurriedly re-worked it into a secularized ghost story.
David Warner...so underrated! Love everything I've seen him in. Thanks so much...such an excellent rendition of this amazing classic.
He was originally going to be cast as Marley’s ghost, but he campaigned for Cratchit.
Of all the versions of A CHRISTMAS CAROL ever filmed, this one with George C. Scott (1927-1999) is my favorite.
Mine is Albert Finney but this is good too!

Love this version of A Christmas Carol!
It's not what you say,it's how you say it. The sound of the voice can reveal it true intentions.

The acting in this version of “ a Christmas Carol” with George C. Scott, is exceptional………

You might need to seek help!
How do you find the time to do things like Laundry, or Cooking?
Clean your toilet?
Does your husband do everything?
Let me ask you this:
Are you a Democrat?
Dickens wrote this book at the height of Marxism in the 1800s.
Maybe you just hate capitalism?
Do you have a job?
An excellent version. The greatest version to me though, is Scrooge, with Albert Finney.
Yes.
You don't mess with THIS ghost of Christmas present.
This ghost of the Christmas Yet To Come is probably the most terrifying- it used to give me nightmares when I first watched it!
This is the best version Ebenezer Scrooge is my role model.
The scariest version! I still have the scars from watching this as a kid.
Excellent movie- adaptation.
From the heart the tounge speaks.❤
I had this movie on a blank VHS 📼 from way back in the day. A couple of years ago, I tried to watch it, and the VCR ate my tape!!! I was so upset!
This one is a great version of scrooge
The one with Henry Winkler is 👍 too.
The disappearing horse drawn hearse is an Amazing effect!!! Very creepy!!!
The big guy in the future looks like Michael Cain
Edward Woodward.
How was it light when crachett finished work at 7pm.
It's dark by 4pm in England on Christmas eve
George C. Scott war und ist der Beste Darsteller von E. Scrooge. Einfach hervorragend. ❤😊 8:27

Disney’s A Christmas Carol is the most amazing film. It was on at the cinema shown in 3D. It has only been shown once on tv I think but it is on DVD.
George C. Scott, what a wonderful and talented actor. They don't make them like that anymore.
I wonder if the Muppet Christmas Carol took inspiration from this film
Lovely ❤🎄🎄🎄🎄
And still, beside such a wonderfuI hoIiday someone ceIebrates haIIoween
Ms scrooge with cicly Tyson was just as good as this
Should be updated to the welfare state of today
All places are closed xmas day

Familes at home celebrating
Churches full of hypocrites
The homeless on their own
Charity is a every day affair
Not an idol one day a year!
Aw, c’mon. I’m not a deist. Some, who know my past, think I may be the anti-Christ. But I still like Christmas. Who couldn’t?
_...what year was this released?..._ 🤔...
Released in 1984.
Broadcast in the United States on December 17 1984
A merry Christmas sir. Oh piss off. ( a more modern variation of bah humbug.”.
Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye
of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God
Jesus
Sorry, not a patch on the Alistair Sim version.

David Rothschild.......Your Mama Schnappers the ghost of Christmas past...David go and get my little schnoppie......
In the original Xmas legend from Germany you have another companion to look for those children who don't deserve free presents.
What happens when those naughty children are found?😨
@Harumph-Sez-Moi read the German tale of Santa clause
Erm, this was written by an Englishman, so how can it be German?
@Roz-y2d the original father Xmas is German
@@frederickanderson1860 oops, apologies. I thought you were referring to ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Dickens! 👍🏻😅
