- Hello this is a run through of how I created this upcyled macrame sofa for a collaboration with Debi Beard @DebisDesignDiary
I used All natural zero voc DIY Paint from diypaint.co/ in :Monets garden, bohemian blue, clear wax and white wax.
I learned the the two knots I used for this project by watching Lots of knots Canada please check out her amazing channel below.

Wow! Came here from debbies design diary. Man you make it look easy but after her video I really respect all the hard work this took. I sell my handmade jewelry and I can’t imagine you could sell this for enough to make up for all that work!! It looks amazing.
I love Handmade Jewelry every piece is a one of a kind piece of art. Yes It was a lot of work but so worth it in the end to see an idea come to life. Truth be told I haven’t sold it because after making two now I’m not sure if I want to put myself through the process again 😂. Thank you for coming over from Debi’s page. The Colored Caboose I love to create so many things. I just finished doing some tie dying doing the ice dye method but I used snow instead of ice cubes. I love to paint and repurpose all kinds of things and have had the time and room the last 5 years to create a beautiful garden with lots of vegetables, fruit and flowers. The list goes on and I am like you most Melanie’s I meet are very creative.

Fabulous!!! Great video! Very easy to understand! I’m going to try it on a chair first. I redid my hardwood in my house by myself every room had carpet on it! I totally understand the pain if the nails!!! But so worth it in the end!!! I look forward to watching more videos from you in the future 🤞🏻

Stacy Nathan great question I attached them with wood glue and brad nails. I didn’t go in depth about that because @vintagemakoverswithmelanie has a full video covering that part on her channel. If you try this I’d love to see your interpretation please tag me on Instagram 😊
Oh question: you said when measuring mc you triple but whay about the side mc, how did you measure it? Did you go sidecto side? Thank you😊
Nena Regalado I measured the same way from the starting hole down to the bottom hole with the cord folded in half then tripled.

What process did you use for the paint, love how it looks green in some shots and then blue in others, which color did you use as the base coat?
TheDingfish thank you 😊. I painted the entire piece with monets garden then sprayed it with watered down bohemian blue and it sunk into the detail.
I have a question. When you added the side strands to the existing macrame how did you incorporate them? Do you end up with four more strands, two from each side? It’s important to anchor the macrame to the sides of your “panel” but I can’t envision how it works. Do you just have one more square knot every time you add the strands, which I think were four times down your panels. Help!
When my macrame got to the level of the side strands I just changed up my pattern to incorporate.

Very original as usual girl :) Cute and crafty but....does anyone really want to sit on this? Without a cushion in the back it makes a very deep seat that wouldn't suit short people but maybe this could be in the entrance of a boho shop or restaurant.....Did you sell it?

Ah yes...perfect. I'll bet it's in a beautiful lobby with a water fountain and palm trees...wish I was there :)
The bad first... The music was so very distracting. The volume kept going up and down. There were lyrics while you were talking which made it hard to understand/hear you. It was like listening to you in a crowded room. I eventually muted the whole video so I could at least see the final project. Now for the good.... The final piece turned out very nice. I love the green paint. Definitely had the shabby chic / bohemian look to it that I love. I have a worn out sofa very similar to this one sitting out in the shed waiting for inspiration. I may have to give it a try.
Long story short this is the first video I ever made, had no clue what I was doing and I did it entirely on my iPhone. With that being said I’m glad you were able to take something from it. muting was probably the best thing to do 😆.
Stunning, simply stunning, but the section where you are explaining how to put the rope on to the frame was very hard to hear you clearly, and then you layered in music...which made it harder to hear you clearly.
This was my very first UA-cam video. I made it in a hurry on my phone and had no idea what I was doing. If you have a specific question I’d be more than happy to try and explain.
