How to delete the colors (or each of the colors) on the Acad contour map? I did not catch what you say- you skip off too fast. Also can you show how to export contours so obtained back to Global Mapper and/or to Google Earth? Thank you.
@@peoplestvbypiyush actually I would like to ask you that, how to obtained the contour details (the feet or meter)? Please feel free to share your wonderful technique... Thanks so much for your kind favor....
Your excellent tutorial has a misleading title. You are not extracting these contours from Google Earth, just the boundary so you know where to place the elevation data. The elevation data you are using is a digital elevation model (DEM) from SRTM or ASTER. Actually Google does not approve of us using their elevation data. Also if you used the outline from Google your project is probably going to default to Mercator, and your architectural project is probably going to be in UTM 43N. So when you export the results you might consider exporting to that projection. This is trivial to do in Global mapper. Thanks for the excellent tutorial!
Hello, thanks for your tutorials. How do I generate contours of the marked place only! I can see in your tutorial the generated contours have been imported even of the area outside the mapped site
Hello gintoki, as you must have seen in the video we can export the whole thing with the site boundary as well, so you can use the site boundary dimensions as reference to scale your drawing, hope that will help
@@peoplestvbypiyush so I have to do it manually?? . Man, I thought with high technology software like this, it can export at the right scale and measurements... . What a fool I am..hahaha.. . Thanks for the reply by the way..
Data from mapper is exported in 1:1 by default, if your Google Earth data is accurate you will get accurate data as DWG as well, taking refrence from your site boundary is just to double check
@@peoplestvbypiyush I don't get it though, I wished I won't have to rescale it when I export it in Autocad.. .. . Sir, I followed all your instructions to generate contours. It went well upto generation of contour in global mapper but when I am trying to import the data in autocad, the data is not visible on zooming . Plz suggest did I need to change any projection setting in autocadd
Hello prabhat, when you export the contours from global mapper it also gives you a option to export with the site boundary you marked in google Earth, using that as a reference you can scale it, thanks
It's a great video, but I am sorry to tell you, when you compare Global Mapper Elevations vs Google Elevations is like comparing Mars Contours vs Earth Contours, they don't even see to be related. So, careful. This is not intended as hatred comment, is so you be aware and don't risk your engineer license on this approximation.
The data imported is not accurate with reality at all. Greatly disappointing, and for software that is not cheap, I would expect accuracy for this method
Trash, software is not free and for even for free trial there are too many questions like what is my phone number. I am not giving you any valuable information you can sell.
