It looks like Patek is discontinuing the caliber 215ps, judging from the discontinued Calatrava models. While I’m glad the new caliber fits the 6119, 39mm is too large for a dress watch. My 3796 is perfect (and the discontinued caliber fit it perfectly. You have an amazing collection.
For we mere mortals, there are no spilt tears...the Nautilus boat sailed long ago for many of us and the Grand Complications we only ever saw with our noses pressed against the window of Hong Kong jewellery stores. To think that I saw these watches in stores for years and never lusted after one until it was to late. I've now decided it's Seiko GS for the future. In fact I just got the White Birch SLGH005. A stunning watch.
I think Patek would be well served to leave the launch of the 6711 until the Nautilus’ 50th anniversary, personally. Shocked to see the enamel world timer being chopped…that really is my grail watch along with 5270J. I know many criticise the 5196 but, as the J was my first ever Patek, I’m a massive fan. The 6119 line, whilst undoubtedly having a gorgeous movement, really isn’t for me as it seems a bit too fussy. I accept that’s purely a personal perspective though.
since there's no way that they'll launch 26 new models this year, it'll certainly streamline production, allowing them to take advantage of the market and appease some of their collectors/customers

I tried buying a 5270p recently and was told it was discontinued and impossible to get. I got the 5270/1R -001. I do love the bracelet on it but if I got the chance would also buy a 5270p.

Well I never liked the 5711 when I could buy it at 20k and I certainly didn't like it any more when the price went up. The same with the other Genta designs. Its funny though how some people start liking watches the more valuable and "sort" after they become. Obviously FOMO and herd mentality kicks in. We humans are a funny species, despite are supposed higher intellect compared to other animals, it must be said...
PP just introduced a new version of their perpetual calendar split second complication, the 5204R-011. Rose gold, brown dial, brown leather strap, apparently no limited edition. And now I am confused why Patek would discontinue tthe 5204 line while simultaneously releasing a new version that isn't limited.
I covert only one PP and it's none of those so I won't miss any of them.. Most of PP watches to my own personal taste are really rather unattractive including all those mentioned in the video. For instance the Salmon dial is totally outshone by the ALS version. The syringe one looks like a toy, the hobnail bezel looks terrible etc etc etc . I get they are a well made timepiece but looks wise in the main, they never quite hit the spot.

I never liked the Nautilus. Nothing screams “old man dumb money" more than a Nautilus. Patek makes so many other beautiful models that haven’t been soiled by the ridiculous Genta craze.

Yep, nothing wrong with that. The way I look at it is the Pateks will arrive eventually - I’m in no rush (unless they discontinue them)

The Calatrava is superb, but I think the 5527Gs are the best - the simple, classics in ivory/cream dial or black.
