literally just bought the z blue Milgauss today and looking forward to its arrival in about 2 days.. was the first rolex that truly caught my eye about 6 years back and it is finally coming soon!
Special edition Pateks are a mixed bag. A few years ago there was a limited edition steel pilot's watch that was (I think?) only available in the US: that was a really sensational piece. This latest one...hmm... According to my AD there actually _were_ people who turned it down! Of course, Damian is right about the _money aspect_ - I guess any rare steel Patek is going to be a good "investment". But then again, maybe watch collecting shouldn't only be about investment?
Great stories behind each impulse purchase. We all gone through that at some point in our watch owning journey. You got lucky with some of your impulse purchase especially the Explorer II.
Very nice pieces. I think we've all made impulse purchases, some we end up regretting and others becoming pieces we would never let go of. I guess the key is to have fun and stay within your means. Thanks for another entertaining video 🙂
I think most people gravitate to Rolex because of its popularity and the hype that is commands. And I think you shouldn't regret in getting that Panerai. It's a handsome watch and the design is one of a kind. And that makes the watch unique. Even from afar, it can't be mistaken that you're wearing a Panerai watch.
The patek and the explorer are superb . I personally struggle with big collections therefore have to spend a lot of time resiting the urge . Storage , insurance, etc for me is just another thing to fill my already cluttered though processes ..
Great video . I can identify myself in this video. What I still after this time don’t seem to get it right is the rotation of my watches. As soon I change my watch, I feel wanting to go back to my previous. :(
Exelent Video. Superb collection . I quite like the Bell & Ross with that orange and black combination. I tried the blue face Milagauss on in Wilmslow, it was the first one in the country and was used for the photo shoot for the advertising. I liked it , but I wanted a Hulk Submarriner
Nice 16550 Damian. Your taste is improving with knowledge. You might be aware that’s it’s the rarer of the two types of dial - called a ‘rail dial’ and has the original silver curved hands and original smaller crown and the original bezel - the 16550 bezel has bigger squarer numbers than the 16570 and Rolex fit 16570 bezel as service item now so look after it....next you need a 71/72 straight second hand 1655 (albino or std fading to hands with its original t Swiss t mk1 or mk2 dial) with original 7836 folded link bracelet they are awesome and rising very fast - £14k in 2017 now £21k watch and box or £29k or so full punched set - well done sir 💫 ps well out of Panerai the various special editions Luminor with pig 🐷 have dropped over £1000 in 3 yrs, while Rolex have doubled - I sold all my Panerai in 2017!
I had the Milgauss, loved the design and green crystal….then I bought one, the green crystal shows smudges up too easily and the polished center links are scratch magnets. Sold it about 20 months after buying it at a slight profit
Another TheWatchGuys video I watched without thinking. Do I regret it? No! The impulse is always too great and my weekends wouldn't be the same without TheWatchGuys... 👉⌚🎥📺👌
Sometimes you hesitate and regret it ever after because the chance never comes back, and sometimes what seemed like a chance turns out that it wasn't so much in hindsight. Tempus fugit.
Another nice video... thank you. Perhaps it’s time for a state of the collection video? You have a range of impressive watches and it will be super nice to see them side by side. Thanks again.
I know you feel you regret that panerai but you've absolutely bought the RIGHT kind of Panerai..... The titanium for weight reduction but also for the functionality and the aesthetics..... Why would you want to own a big bulky shiny steel divers watch other than to show off? It's somewhat different with precious metal watches because I doubt many are used as tools.... I just don't get shiny polished steel tool watches, they're just scratch magnets when doing anything other than walking about or desk diving
@@TheWatchGuysTV the best thing about your channel is that you feature all brands of watches even ones us mere mortals can obtain.. keep up the good work 👍🏻
If you put the white gold Rolex next to a stainless steel version, is there a really noticeable difference? I’m assuming the white gold is for people who want a precious metal but also don’t want to be to flashy.
Surprised at how ill thought out the print on that display back of your Calatrava appears. It's akin to draping the Venus de Milo in granny's net curtains.
I think you rock that Panerai just fine! It’s in your head, so don’t let us know. It’s a great weekend watch, throw on some jeans and a polo, you’re set to go. You might try some different straps to get that watch into the right place you will Iove; it’s a strap monster. Enjoy.....
Nice video and decent impulse buys if you ask me. I’d love to see the mainspring on the Panerai to have and eight day power reserve! My question is do you know how many watches you have in your collection? For me I have no idea, I think in the region of 170
Hi, not overly keen on the Panerai. Love the rest, especially the Rolex Explorer and that Patek!!! Well done. I’ve never heard you mention family so who will inherit the “keepers”. Although I am a few years older than you I would still like to offer myself up for adoption? You know just in case!!! Wear them all with pride and enjoy a long life with them.
Patek really maxing the marketing hype - £60k for a steel watch with a date complication. Wow. Yes I’m sure it will increase in value as its Patek, limited edition and will get lots of social media hype at some point.
Hi brother keep with patek and Rolex always will keep the value, and make the changes slowly .The BR, Panerai, Casio never will be a good options. For the reason that special edition it’s the easy way of some brands to shitting the customers, like for example Hublot they started to make multiple limited edition whatches, and the end all the pieces lost the prestige and value. Good look
Damian, what happened to your voice? I know you talk a little bit calmer on this channel because of the different audience, but this time you seem a bit ill, hope I’m wrong! Either way, wishing you and your family the best of health!
@@TheWatchGuysTV ok grandad, just cos you have a few quid doesn’t make you the last word in good taste. Money can’t buy everything and you’re the perfect example.
That Milgauss is such a grower. Hated it on first inspection, three months later, had to have one.
Completely agree

Congrats
How the heck is a Patek an impulse buy?!! I mean I’m extremely envious of your life, an impulse buy for me is a new T-Shirt!!
😂😂😂
Patek Dealer: "Do you want this limited edition for £60k?"
Me: "Yes"
Also Me: Remortgage home...
Really enjoyed this episode Damien, nice to mix it up a bit 👏👏 love that Rolex Milgauss 😍
Glad you enjoyed it!

The Bell&Ross watch is probably something I would buy on a whim, as I like large watches just for driving.
I love the brick background and it's lighting. Makes me feel so cozy while watching your video.
That particular Patek is my grail. Congratulations on that snag. Beyond cool.

This episode hits too close to home haha. I think it would be interesting to ask us (audience) about our impulse buys.

That g shock and the patek both are really mind blowing.
Although i dont have space for patek in my heart. But this time it made it
Fantastic video as always. Loved hearing the stories behind these watches

Yes exactly, the difference is the weight and the sheen - white gold has a different look.
Great video as always! I would love to see all your Japanese watches, seen a few but love your descriptions & background on each watch please.
Noted!
Thanks for the content and time stamps, love that Calatrava, definitely worth putting off a few months of meals for.

Great list Damien love the Milgauss and the Patek is beautiful what are your thoughts on watches by Jacob & Co? To crazy or worth the money?
A bit too crazy for me, but I’m actually quite a fan of the Messi
Great content as ever 👍🏼
Much appreciated!
Great video. I actually have a soft spot for the Panerai but of course it is a bit of a marmite watch
just found the channel, glad i did

Burlington Arcade there some real over priced crap on show there, check out Vintage Rolex Shop,
Calatrava and Bamford 👏👏👏
Curious thought... As a percentage of their purchase price, has your watch collection or car collection appreciated most in value?
Watch collection

Panerai, Bell&Ross, explorer II cream dial…REALLY?
Do you get your watches appraised annually for their value for your insurance?

dat Patek Calatrava 🔥
'That'
Change the strap of panerai for 2nd honeymoon. Sell the bell & ross

I cannot fault any of your choices : )
But what a sickness!
Bell End Ross... the question is why would anyone even go into their boutique?

This is pure clickbait. Rather than sharing useful information it's just:
'Look how clever I am; I just buy stuff on impulse and Bingo!'
Yes that’s what the title says, exactly and clearly. So the title completely reflects the content. Which means it cannot be clickbait, can it?
