    I hate it when people who think they know what's better for other people that they know nothing about. People look at these men and think that they are below them that they are "3rd world". They are nothing of the sort! Theses men get up every day go to work in places like this and craft absolutely amazing and beautiful utilitarian items. All of the neat little items you see at the store and think that's beautiful and wonder who made this?
    Theses guys did and if it wasn't them then It was the guy nextdoor or two doors down... theses are the men that make the things we put in our homes and love to look at and use every day. Give them more respect they they deserve it!

      They work in appalling conditions. The government could care less because it is run by a mafia where profit is supreme. Shame on them.

    • @rashakawa

      @@denjhill no they don't... What are you talking about? Appalling conditions?

    • @rashakawa
      @rashakawa 2 роки тому +1

      @@denjhill theses men are not forced to do anything by their government. These are their own business that they are free to run how they want. If you do like the conditions you are free to fund another job. But for the most part these employees are family and they are learning a trade. As for the government there no a mafia in control. There government isn't run like yours and mine. They don't pay taxes like we do so there isn't the kind of infrastructure that we have. Just because it's not like yours doesn't mean that there being taken advantage of or that is a wrong way of doing things. Your making assumptions based on a 10 minute video that has nothing to do with their government or what they're being paid. You're also making assumptions based on biased non-fact related opinions.

    • @gander4872
      @gander4872 2 роки тому

      I don't see any comments looking down on them. It's mostly people saying they aren't working in healthy conditions, which is true. That is quite the opposite of looking down, people here are saying they should be afforded the same right to a safe workplace as we are.

    • @rashakawa
      @rashakawa 2 роки тому

      @@gander4872 how exactly is this a unsafe work condition? How do you define a unsafe work condition? Do you judge it on the potential of an accident? Or on actually accidents? When you start putting warning labels and safety guards on every single little thing but people still get hurt has the unsafe working condition been solved? Warning labels and safety guards make people lazy.
      If you talking about the wood dust thats created... There is a fan blowing it out into the open... none of the things they are working on are toxic... You breathe in more toxic fumes walking down any main Street in small towns in the United States in one day then you would working there.
      Now here's a secret about safe working conditions... They aren't there to keep you safe... They are there to keep you from suing the employer. They are there to protect the interest of the company or manufacturer that created the item. You and I live in a country that cares more about the protecting the man at the top then the people responsible for putting him at the top.

      @@travelling_stephen I hope I'm not misinterpreting your response, but are you implying that these workers are displaying "self-preservation?" I just watched a man slow down a lathe with exposed belts, using his bare foot. It would take them literally half a minute to cut one of the numerous scraps into a push stick. It's sad that companies buying items in bulk don't ensure that even just the most basic of safety practices are followed at these manufacturing locations. Unfortunately there will probably be a number of able-footed workers begging to work in dangerous conditions for next to nothing after the next lathe accident.

      @rashakawa 2 роки тому +1

      Theses shops are capable of crafting many different things. Large tables and chairs all over take up space. Look at the size of space their working in. It would fit. Plus people have only been using "benches" and chairs for mass production in the last 50 years or so. But since we began crafting things we have been sitting on floors doing it. Remember the entire industrial revolution and the creation of the manufacturing line was all done by people standing up.

    They give new meaning to the drill press - you drill so the machine does not have to. The second lathe operator was quite good I thought. Very sharp tools and an artistic side to his work. I did notice the tablesaw blade was not a modern carbide tipped blade. As usual, no safety devices were used in this video. Oh yeah, the guy using his bare foot to tension or brace his operation...that was a first. That all being said - I would certainly buy a couple of those lamps. Cool design!
