6G MIG Welding Technique
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 тра 2019
- 6G TIG roots with MIG fills and caps are common in shop fabrication. We've gone over the TIG roots in several videos, however we have never touched on techniques for the MIG fills and caps. In today's video we are going to show you how to fill and cap a 6" pipe in a single weave pass with GMAW.

Mr Bob... As a full time 50+ hr a week shop fabricator & welder for 9 yrs now (I'm 50...was a licensed plumber for 25 yrs) I just want to thank you for all the great vids! I learn something new on every one!....but... At our shop, we love us the aluminum! That damn ole steel is heavy, dirty, & heavy! Thanks again & keep burning em!
"Weld level to the floor"...…. great idea ! Why didn't I think of that ? There's always something new to learn. THNX.
I'm here for the farts and I wasn't disappointed
The fill and cap for drain pipe can be run top down from 12 oclock to 3 and 9 oclock. Then from 9 and 3 oclock to 6 oclock position all downhill. High pressure is a different method for sure. Great video! Short arc pipe welding is challenging in any position, but a lot of fun, as well as great learning on out of position.
That right there is one of the best tips I've learned, even with the floor. Instead of having the bead pool up on me, weaving with the floor makes sense. Thanks, enjoyed this very much.
It's also a great class today. It's great.👍
Nice job Bob, nice crisp sounding machine. Great video
That little sucker was running crispy.
Another fine video. I really like that Everlast welder. More videos please!
Good video Bob thumbs up.
You're The Legend Bob
Great job Bob. I'd like to see this with Dual Shield and Metal Core wires. Thanks.
Bobs so good at welding he is shrouded in his own shielding gas. 💨
Fargon?
Thank You for sharing this Video
Nice when fabing gravity feed pipe in the shop
Thank You!
Good job
Could you make a video about Stainless Mig welding please
Stainless is MAG
Good job Boss
Pretty good
good work 👌👌👌👌👌👌😊😊😊
Guuuuuud looking weld.
I love that machine! I had mine about a year now. A real review from real welder 20+ years is those green machines rock and the 221 is so smoooooooth. and AC/DC tig Yes I paid full price and don't work for Everlast
oh and great welding as always despite the crown. You always kill it!
increase half a volt to flatten your bead 15 more wire speed and increase your travel speed. if you drop your wire speed too low you risking not punching in there very well. got to remember this is pipe and you're using .035 wire.
I like MIG Welding !!! 😉 👍
I thought that was my dog farting. I ran him outside to go potty and he looked at me like I was crazy.
😂😂😂😂
Art
thanks sir
Try it with metal core, 045 uphill on monster coupin
Could you make a video of vertical up outside corner joints 7018 on 1/4 material for instance 45 degree cut channel
Super
You very nice welding
should do the root pass to see the technique, the filling and finishing are easier to do, there is the detail
Question is it possible too weld 10 gauge 4” stainless pipe with the mig if so what gas do I use and wire speed and voltage?
Good good👍
Nice... i m from india
nice!! 💪 👷🏻
also would love to see a stick in a tig torch in place of the tungsten with high frequency start pulse etc. and using a stick with flux for tig filler, maybe as lay wire.
Closest thing we've done to that is Texas TIG: ua-cam.com/video/OPTrSXgok-8/v-deo.html
Yesterday was the last day of school and I miss welding
go get a job
@@SlapHappy sounds like a fantastic idea for an 14 year old to go get a welding degree
@@elijah0557 I agree, start while you're young go apprentice somewhere
Do you have to walk the cup on tig root?
Make a video 4G stick open root please 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😭😭😭 ( nice sound in the wire speed 😎)
@0:52 "come on old man you can do this" *FART* 😂😂😂 heard a fart just before this, and just after.
Legit thought it was my dog, then i realised my dog aint in the room! Jumped back and its in the video 😂🤣😂🤣
What's your preferred wire?
Can u do a vid on stick welding a butt joint
Pará soldar tubo dé 15mm en posición 6g Mig es más difícil o fácil? Cuál sería la técnica ideal pará hacerlo sin perforación.. gracias
Same test but with aluminum sch 80 this time
Mig
Молодец дяденька . Как нарисовал.
Great video 👍🏽 Do you have any tips for beginners on how to master pipeline welding and what specific key points to focus on? I just graduated high school and going for my certificates in august. Thanks
We just did a video last Monday about the common mistakes of pipe welding and how to avoid them. It may help as a starter reference.
Give this a watch: ua-cam.com/video/P-_zB0Q7ZqQ/v-deo.html
what mig gun are you using?
Do you have a welding procedure?
Isn't that what you usually do with Fluxco?
And show them with a 5g weld from the bottom up.
Yes, we have many. And yes, we have shown that weld many times.
I like dual shield better. Easier to weld positions. Hyundai sc-70t cored, for roots and hyundai 81 supercored mag for filler.
Pls do a video on mig 3f uphill
We've got a few on 3G. Don't think we've done 3F. It's added to the list.
Why you didn't show up how to make rootpass using mig/mag?
Be careful! Gas leak in proximity of sparks can blow you apart! ☺
Love your videos! I do have to say I did hear you fart twice while welding the first pass
I noticed the tip on the Mig gun was fairly dirty at what point do you need to clean it?
when your welds look like shit and not much gas is getting to where its needed
Polarity?
What alot of people dont know...if you add methane gas while mig welding it helps produce better penetration.
You just have to weigh the importance of that versus angry co-workers...
@@Welddotcom i 100% agree with you on that lol
Not to mention just what it was that the methane producer ate in order to produce said gaseous venting. That could mean the difference between between laughter and manslaughter.
👏👏👏👏👏
I’d of thought you do it from the top to bottom. ie Downwards.
Great video Bob but you know in a shop there is a boss bouncing around like a little freckled face shortstop saying ignorant things like " when I was a welder I could do that in one pass and weld all the way around without stopping".
00:55 1:06 1:24
6G 7018 root pass
It's in the queue 👍
0:51 I heard a fart 😂👌
I'm look8ng to achieve this test in mig, booked my test for August, I'm wondering what would be the best pipe size for 6g in mig? Pipe thickness, pipe diameter etc?
6 inch pipe, E.H 80s 10.97 I'm thinking, O.D at 168.28.
My thinking anyway.
did u pass it ?
6g mig root and cap is that possible????
Indeed it is.
I failed when I did my test can u show how it’s done
Man gas purging was outfuckingstanding!
Like
What gas mix was used?
argon, co2 and farts
4" sch 40 T = 6 mm how setting v= 19 WFS= 185 ipm from chart
By sight, sound and smell.
@0:54 man cub farting in your weld causing porosity.
damn i missed that one and the one at 1:07
There's 3 in there... Lesson learned wait 30 minutes after eating to film 🤔😂
Was that multiple farts I heard? 😂😂😂
You guys upset me when you pull off welds that look that good almost effortlessly then say it's bad. 🤔 Maybe you had some methane contamination which is why you weren't too happy with it 😂- thanks for video 👍
if i can just weld like this surely I will get a high salary
More farts! Nice weld bob ;D
Outstanding
this is not MIG ....this is MAG welding (active gas lmao)
Exactly
Mig mag😊
T'nkyou 45° cyrcl
At 00:53 and 1:22 did anyone else hear the nervous toot?
1:25 a fly farted on the microphone
What does inductance mean?
Check this video out: ua-cam.com/video/mUw9tqLHecs/v-deo.html
Google it.
So basically all you guys weld is pipe?
At 0:55 ???
1:23 wtf was that ?
😂 argon!
Leaky gas hose 🤔🤔
Ole Moffett pressure release 😂
I hope that was coming out of your "gas valve" and not your hose...………...scary @@Welddotcom
@@danelezama398 don't smell like no argon i ever seen ....
0:54 is when he farts
Always fartin around lol....

Bad to the bone !!!!!
He did fart.
he did and I was waiting for the boom, sparks and gas (methane) not a good combination.
Twice
He farts at 58 seconds
your steps are a little too big.
