Angel Blue sings Violetta’s Act III aria in a recent performance. Production: Michael Mayer. Conductor: Nicola Luisotti. 2022-23 season. Videography by Neville Braithwaite.
Not much concerned about the so called lack in technique some are critising, I am however in the pathos her voice conveys and it's all there. Wonderful.
Angel was an absolute star today! 💗 Please upload more vids of Angel's violetta. This was my second time attending Angel & Dimitri's pair after Royal Opera House UK, and they made my revisit absolutely worth it today! Thank you 💗💗
Other than the last note, a good Violetta - however a bit too much physical activity for someone truly on their deathbed (perhaps faulty stage direction) makes it less believable
@@Homoclassicus I "must be thinking" that Verdi singer must sound just any good singer - with secured, controled, balanced and evenly distributed breath, evenness of tone, free unrestrained top notes, nuanced vocalization...
Oh, dear, was she ill the day of the broadcast or is she having vocal problems? She seems to be struggling. I know why you did not post "Ah forse lui...sempre libera" because it really was not good when I heard it on the radio broadcast, and not what I expect from a singer at The Met. Is she being given bad direction? The rendition by Nadine Sierra was much better vocally (with nuance) and acting wise (and I'm not even a fan of hers) but she did not move around the stage as much. I know Ms. Blue has done this role often, but it doesn't seem a great fit for her, especially the coloratura. It's a difficult role because you need the vocal flexibility of a coloratura and yet a dramatic Verdi voice. And her pianissimo and breath control?? Just not there, which is why she cuts off the note and falls to the floor. I hope she gets better soon or gets some good vocal help.

She in danger of losing the piano.
How is this acceptable at the Met? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Personnellement, pas son meilleur rôle.
Too vibrating....
Met is getting worse every year.
simply bad singing - vibrato, shrill and unsteady tone...
😂
hard to think that is Metropolitan Opera🤔
Vibrato? You must be thinking a Verdi singer must sound like Montserrat Figueras or, who knows, Emma Kirkby. What an over the top exaggeration...
Completamente de acuerdo

Very good singing albeit a non verdian one. She does not sound much verdian.
What is ' verdian' for you?
So BAD yikes.
For a dying consumptive, she certainly moves around a lot.
