He wants to teach kids, he needs to teach himself time management. He should have saved time and went to a salon to take his braids out. Just do your job, quit filming everything on TikTok, set boundaries and stop assuming all kids need to feel safe around you or don’t have support at home. I do not think this appropriate and might be a life lesson for himself: just do your job! With the metoo movement, things can go left whether filmed or not. And him saying he's not going to have children really stuck out for me because that does not give him a pass to use his students to fill that void that he has decided for himself not to have children and then turn around and use other people's children that yes clearly his own children could be doing that for him because touching somebody's hair and somebody else's body in that way is very intimate and it's too close to a teacher. That's just too close. I don't think he should be fired I think he should be given a warning and keep his distance from now on there's too much weirdness in this world and even though he may not have done anything wrong don't set yourself up to even have accusations. i'm an 80's baby and one thing my g'ma use to always instill in us is "stay in a child's place" when grown ups were around we either had to go outside or into our rooms because there was no reason a child should be around grown ups or in their conversation especially when it came to the girls... if the girls had on clothes that g'ma or mom thought was showing too much...best believe they'll tell you with the quickness to go change your clothes because they shouldn't be walking around the house with tight clothes on around a grown man that they didn't know and so on...so even tho this may be/look harmless it still is considered inappropriate

The teacher is either too wrapped up in his on rhetoric to realize what he is dealing with, or he really is oblivious/naive/delusional. He most likely has the best intentions, but it is so easy for the lines to get crossed and blurred, especially with hormonal tween/teenagers (completely natural btw). For him not to at least acknowledge and RESPECT the possibility that if any one of those girls could develops a crush and without well-established boundaries, could lead to a "he said/she said" situation and regardless of the truth, he is going to get the short end of the stick and there is no way to unring that bell and his good name will be forever tarnished. If he plans to have tenure in education, it would be best for him to accept the double standard and keep everything above book and keep his personal needs/activities separate from the classroom.

They closer you get to some one you develop feelings for them. If one of those girls had developed feelings for him. Then people would say he groomed them. An the excuse he had a hair appointment after school. An couldn't do it the night before cause he qas being interviewed is his problem. The minute he knew about the interview he should have changed the appointment. But t he fact that kids were touching him lile that at schools just cause. Qith all the other teachers getting caught messing with kids he thought this was ok? I know classmates that developed feeling for teachers cause they got too close. As a teacher, both teachers were wrong. There is a level of inappropriateness, lack of professionalism, and boundaries. There are many ways you can build a relationship with a student without hovering or passing boundaries. Teachers need to be mindful of trying to be friends with students. We wear many hats and yes students should feel safe to come to you with problems but this is pushing it. We are the adults and need to start acting/ thinking like one. As many have commented before as a parent I wouldn't want my children and their teacher engaging in this behavior. Also, not everything in a classroom needs to be content.

The regular adult thing to do would of been to push the hair appointment back to a later time and 2) you are a grown man talking about a hair appointment like its really that important. How embarrassing.

Don’t touch your students and vice versa. You can build that same relationship with the kids without touching of any kind.

Professional no no, student teacher physical contact show never happen, obviously these young ladies have a attraction for this young male teacher , they could have easily assault him sexually or physically attacked him, he let his guard down trying to fit in or be cool .. what comments are coming from the parents of these young impressible girls being able to physically touch their male teacher, why jeopordize your teacher license dude,....the fact that you video taped this only makes you more guilty and proves that you were out of character and negligent...always think before making dangerous decisions...this will haunt you forever ...

Definitely inappropriate and weird to have underage students take a male teachers hair out, and that’s how things start to get creepy between a teacher and a student. Almost looks like the first steps toward grooming a child.

He don’t want kids himself but lets other peoples kids play in his hair 🧐 I don’t care what gender you are you should not have students underage at that caressing or playing with your hair or being on your person at all.. there’s plenty of other things to do to make your class fun go get creative teacher 😒 he should’ve already known this would stir controversy imo…

The ONLY plausible excuse for this would be a teacher teaching a cosmetology course. When I was in high school there was actually a cosmetology program in our school that was a full/complete salon. Only under such circumstances and in such a setting could I justify this.

Don't think that the teacher Is inherently evil or bad .... but this is an issue of judgement and poor boundaries . It's never a good idea .. to have that kind of touching happening between a teacher and a student .....the problem is really ...that not enough parents are disciplining, befriending, and/ or mentoring their children . MANYTIMES....MANY PARENTS ARE NOT ENGAGED ENOUGH WITH THEIR CHILDREN WHICH OPENS DOORS THAT OTHER ADULTS TO COME INTO THEIR LIVES . ALSO CULTURALLY ...THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE , ESP WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY...DOING HAIR IS AN EVERYDAY " SHARED OR GROUP" ACTIVITY . IN SOME WAYS THIS IS A HARD CALL . BUT POINT IS THAT PARENTS SHOULD NOT RELY ON TEACHERS TO BE THEIR child's FRIEND . GET INVOLVED ....OR YOU RISK LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN FOR OTHER ADULTS TO STEP IN . IF YOU ARE A TEACHER .. CONSULT WITH ANOTHER SENIOR TEACHER OR SUPERVISOR ABOUT IS APPROPRIATE OR NOT !

And this what they hired as a teacher which should also include protecting the well being of the children he oversee ,This right here is crossing boundaries/ setting up the comfort zone......where in his job detail does it say touching,or being touched???

Ya know what's truly sad that people can take something so innocent and benign and vilify it just to suit a narrative. but, I also agree that there should be boundaries between students and teachers, if we went back to reinforcing boundaries situations like this wouldn't exist.
