- While staying in nearby Buena Vista we drove up to Leadville to ride the Leadville Train. This was such a wonderful ride with the recent snowfall adding the beauty of the mountains. The ride last about 2-1/2 hours total with one stop near the top of the ride.
www.leadviller...
I started my career as a journeyman machinist for the railroad. That was a long time ago. Thanks for the ride.
You probably made wat you were worth at that job.............I did not working for this railroad. Also FYI the engineer called pat is a sexual predator and the engineer called Beau is a convicted woman beater. Ask the nice lady at the colorado Georgetown loop about beau..............but everyone needs a job eh? Sexual predator, woman beater let's hire em all. LCSRR
Beautiful scenes! Thanks for sharing. And she is absolutely correct...hot dogs require lots of mustard, nothing sweet like ketchup or relish.
You and Abby Rock! You are so fortunate to get to take this awesome trip and I can't thank you enough for sharing these great experiences with us! I will remember if i ever take the leadville railroad to eat before. LOL
Yep, have some lunch in town 👍🏻
These videos are awesome. You two are great.😘
Thanks for taking us along with you an your scenic train ride.
I haven't been to every state but I've been to more than I haven't and thus far Colorado is at least in the top 3 most beautiful states I've been to. Looks like an awesome ride.
Love those trains. There's one near Tillamook, Oregon that runs along the Bay and Beaches, and one in Hood River, Oregon (Great during the spring during orchard blossom season.). Also took a cruise last year to Alaska and rode the train on an excursion to White Pass and Yukon Route. Thanks for posting, fun stuff.
10:31 That was really pretty. (I opened a bottle pine-sol to huff while I re-watched it)
Manly men built those tracks.
You give some lovely smiles these days Adam , 😊.thanks for the great video 👏👏👏👏👍🇬🇧🍺🍺
loved it! done it several times myself but never with snow on the trees! Next year the goal is to be there in September / October
Wow! I never knew this railroad existed! I need to railfan this!
another train ride ! now i'm jealous ! and yes Abby mustard on hot dog is the only way ..with some sweet onions and a little sweet pickle relish. Beautiful !! I can't wait for it to snow here ! thanks for the video, drive safe!
Thanks for the train ride!
My wife and I rode the train this summer. We sat in the same seats as you I. The lounge car lol. We absolutely love Leadville!
Large diesel engines, love them!
The rail line they use used to be the main route of supply to the Climax mine. The ride you were on stops a little east of the Climax mine. The rail line you rode from Canyon City goes up to Leadville and crosses over at Tennesee pass then down to Minturn along I-70 west of Vail. It Is currently out of service. There was a large equipment and locomotive base at Minturn to supply the extra locomotives, along with crews needed to cross over up and down. The line joined the railroad that runs through Denver and up through the Moffit tunnel. The west portal is near the Winterpark Ski area. The rail lines join back up neat Gypsum along I-70.
OMG! I am so jealous of all the fabulous train rides! LOL! I am obsessed with trains and Richard wants to take me on some! (I am hoping for ALOT!) I loved the echo of the train horn when ya'll were stopped! So cool! And we also love hotdogs done right! Awesome! We love you guys! Your videos with the 2 of you, warm our hearts! Ever onward and journey safely!
Thank you! I’m so glad you guys are enjoying them 👍🏻
Amazing journey, “Gods Country’
Planning on heading that way next week . Where up there about four years ago but didn't know much about the area . This time hope to do more.
Thanks for your video. I'm going in a couple of weeks. The last time that I went to Leadville the train rides weren't open.
This looks like it was such a fun train experience!
Great Adam. Thanks for sharing, nice job on the gt knuckle.
Yeah... the wifey and I love trains too..... if you get a chance get up to Skagway, AK and take the White Pass train. Make sure you get on the left side of the train going up. You'll find out about 2 miles out of town (just a hint..... the right side has NO view... rides along a hillside!). Great Ride!!
My wife, three kids, and two dogs (yes, dogs are allowed!) enjoyed this train ride in late August. It's an amazing ride with spectacular views.
I highly recommend this train ride if you're near the Leadville area.
So want to travel and see so many places
To think of the mountains moved with just hand and horse! There is a 100foot deep rail cut near me dug in the 1850's. I can not imagine how many people it took swinging pick axes to bust up that rock and haul it away. Probably 100guys working 16hour day for a year I would imagine. No need for a gym membership then! lol
OMG what a pitiful hotdog!
Yep never had one but that put me off for life. regards
man it has been a while since i ran an old GP9 Engineer does a good job of feathering the whistle.
THIS IS AWESOME ! THANK YOU !
We almost went on this train but it was a bit far away from Denver for us, we were there the same week!
We really enjoyed the Durango to Silverton steam train ride in the fall.
My girlfriend and I cheers all the time. People look at us funny sometimes but we dont care.
"Cheers guys"
We want to start doing more train rides like you do. Check out the Verde Valley railroad in Az if you are ever in the area. Cool train.
I am aiming for Sep 2022. I just have to travel a bit further. Berri, South Australia.
We loved it in 2014.
Nice trip. The reason the closed cars are noisy is because they were built from box cars. The rebuilds were very nicely done.
Another reason was the 'stick rail' track joints.... click, click. The Royal Gorge trip was on 1/4 mile long 'welded rail' sections.
I wasn't referring to the train noise, just too many people talking, yelling, and screaming.
@@AbomAdventures They lost their "inside voices" regards
slice a powered doughnut in half spread one side with peanut butter and grape jelly put it back together...mmm
Adam even with the masks on believe me we could see the smile.
My wife and I are heading to Colorado for our anniversary in a month. We have planned pikes peak and black hawk for a couple days of our trip but had an open day. I think we will be heading to Leadville. Thanks for the video and do you guys have any recommendations? Love watching your travels.... and of course your cooking!
Since you’ll be in Blackhawk, I’d recommend going to ride the Georgetown Loop Railroad in Georgetown. It’s great! Video here in my channel.
is it still running? i am gonna be b there around nov 12...
Him, what time of month did you go? Awesome views great video.
Nice!!
I appoligize Adam but I am asking for more info on your truck. What package/body style is it, Laramie, Big Horn, etc...
Ours is the 2500 Tradesman 4x4. It's the base model, but maybe one up from the basic work trucks with grey bumpers. It's everything I need in a truck and love it. Some of the safety features from the higher end models would be nice to have, But I didn't want to buy a 60,70, or 80K truck. Look at the Tradesman series.
@@AbomAdventures Thanks.
Do you guys have any murch, I would love to buy my wife a T-shirt
We are wanting to design some shirts to sell. Havnt made it there yet.
Where’s Santa?
It sounds like k3la horn
Just don't ever come to the UK and expect a train to leave on time. 😂
we all know you're a die hard train nerd railfan at this point lmao Why not get into Live Steam??????
So you guys are fascinated with snow... You spoiled Floridians... :) Try Minnesota, where you get three feet of that stuff for six months...
My hearing isn’t great but we’re you kids raving about powdered duck being on the menu? Kids, stay off the mushrooms. Especially at breakfast. I had an Alaska Airlines steamed corn while flying into Mexico City in 2010. Jesus wept I don’t think NASA could have done more to put someone into orbit! That only lasted the next two weeks!
Powdered doughnuts I think. regards
Boring vid thanks for watching
