Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today, we’re awash in the Ethereal, from Wampler Pedals. The Ethereal is an all-inclusive ambience machine that combines a unique double-layered delay with a dead-simple reverb circuit to create atmospheric washes of time and space. Both delay and reverb circuits were designed from the ground up for maximum interplay as the effects meld together. The heart of the Ethereal is the Delay Mode switch, located front and center. Selecting any of these modes adds an additional repeat on top of the main quarter-note, and you can add an eighth note, triplet or an extra quarter and eighth that feed back in an interesting way. When selecting a new mode, the delay engine is split into individual paths, and each path is fed into the machine. Each delay path get the deluxe treatment, including a maximum of one second of delay time, and as few as ten milliseconds. The multiple layers of delay creates a dense fog of repeats that is capable of flooding your signal path, which is just the ticket for shoegaze and dream pop players. Dedicated Feedback and Delay Mix controls keep the action in check, while a Tone control lightens or darkens the repeats. When the Tone control is rolled back, you get murky, tape-style repeats, and bright, digital repeats when rolled up. The one-knob delay circuit mixes in a tasteful cloud of gentle reverb that trails the delay and thickens the sound dramatically. The reverb circuit is engineered for a generous decay time that is incredibly interactive with the Tone control. If you’d prefer to have your trails keep going when the Ethereal is off, a handy pushbutton switch on the side engages buffered bypass or true bypass switching modes. And just like all Wampler’s pedals, the Ethereal is made right here in the states by folks who know tone.

As I’m simplifying my board, this looks to be exactly what I need. I love a mild delay and reverb on my clean tones at the same time. This is perfect for that and less tap dancing. Ordering today!

By far the best demo-er on UA-cam! He always plays somethings that lets the pedal show off. Pretty sure he can make anything sounds amazing!

I can't believe there isn't a discussion about whether or not Andy actually has an E-bow in his hand or if it's just his fingers...Great review as always and superb pedal.

Andy is really a great player...not a technical wiz, but a Deep knower of the instrument, with a melodic and rythm sense that push effects use even out of their boundaries. Love that.

Really like the sound of the decay in the delay and reverb. But Andy was getting some bright repeats as well as the darker ones with the long repeats with the reverb turned up. Great demo.(as always)

I recently acquired an Ibanez TSA15H and although I love the amp...it doesn't have reverb. After some research I decided to fill that void with this pedal (Christmas Present) and wow...it really filled that void. I could have just grabbed a reverb pedal...but the combination of delay and reverb on this pedal made for a simple setup. Love it. :-)

This is all fingers, right? The way he holds his thumb and forefinger makes it hard to tell. If so, then that's great! The first guitar channel entity I've seen outside the classical realm that fully eschews picks! At least here... As a no picks person myself I always get excited by this kind of thing.
Oh, and I have this pedal and love it. Pretty much always on, and it's nice that you can dial the reverb off (not that it's bad) and use others, of which I have many. It's a bargain in a way, as you get two quality pedals in one, and there are even settings that get some weird pitch things going on, so maybe a third as well.

Wampler Pedals I didn't expect a reply, thanks :) I mean it by the way, and combined with the clips I've seen from you on UA-cam I can tell it's a real passion for amazing gear. I love to see that, it's special. I'm going to take this as an opportunity to look through your current line and maybe grab something soon. Cheers for being a top notch company.

No. I have wampler ethereal. Great pedal. Sounds great. Love it. Amazing for ambient/ furniture music. But to be honest, the absolute BEST thing about this pedal is that it takes less room on your pedal board lol (assuming you use both delay and reverb pedal). tc products have tone print and flashback has tap tempo. Ethereal doesn't. Believe, what you currently have is a lot better and a lot or versatile.
But for some reason, you must get another delay/reverb pedal, or really love that vintage sound, check out moollon pedals.

I just feel like the market already has enough of these types of pedals that this thing makes no sense to buy when you have other cheaper options that sound just as good if not better. This does not differentiate itself enough to make it be worth getting over other.
