My guess is the mystery hose is for a vaccum guage to balance, synch and tuning of the carbs. Is it "Y" branched and running to the 2 brass ports on the top of both carbs?? I know I am a few yrs.late to the party here with my comment.😅
My phazers do this stupid thing where they run like crap for the first few minutes until they warm up, almost like the plugs need to get hot to fire every time. I've read that's a common thing with phazers so maybe yours just needs to warm up a bit more
@@adaminthemitten8940 didn’t matter hot or cold. I cleaned everything over and over including cleaned the air box well I took the air box out and just had the carbs on it. I fired it up and I be damned if it don’t run great. Any ideas? I wouldn’t mind buying a set of carbs if I could find some. I just can’t believe how rich it runs. Then pull air box and bam runs fine? I know the air box flows free and clear. So what gives? It’s just crazzy
I'm not sure on that, but it seems that something is misadjusted or worn out, adding the airbox would let the engine build more vacuum and that would pull more fuel into the engine, so it kinda makes sense that the airbox makes it run rich
I had picked up a 84 Phazer back in 91 and it had been sunk in a pond at some point and the crank bearings started singing and after rebuilding the engine the exhaust got plugged up and I put a DG pipe on it and no problems with it for several years and ofcourse the kid I sold it to broke the rear axle because he forgot to read the repair manual I gave him telling you that the axle is left hand thread and the kid said FU you I want my money back
Well actually it´s AAEN, it comes from the last name of the guy that started AAEN Performance, Olav Aaen from Norway if I remember correctly. In Sweden we pronounce it Ån and in english/american it would be like the word pawn (like in Pawnshop) but without the P... Check your fuel pump
@@joe964 check your fuel pump and make sure the float level is set correctly
Our 91' Phazer gave up on us this weekend. I'm thinking 'twas the oil pump that did it. Where do you get most of your spares?
I got one, 1988 no rust anywhere no cracks, no scratches, no rips on seat, like brand new for $1k
I don't think your asking enough. Seriously
I block the oil injection on mine crazy how much room you get after removing the oil tank
These things don't have much of a turn radius do they? I'm about to check one out here locally, and possibly get it for 150-200 bucks.
They do not and the low center of gravity doesnt help when you're trying to lean. But they are light and easy to maneuver despite that
@@adaminthemitten8940 expensive to restore or hard to find parts?
@@Lyricz-4-us no, I get most of my stuff off ebay or from a local used parts guy for pretty cheap, but even to buy new stuff isnt bad
Adam do you totally rebuild Phazer2 motors, I'm having issues, I'm north of Grand Rapids, Mi
I've never had to do any work below the cylinders
What is yours doing?
I live in South Haven Michigan I'm going to look at a phazer in Caledonia in a few days

Good score
You'll know this but for others reading the comments this is an 87 deluxe. And that pipe is a Bender.
How much did you pay? Should put that right in the description
$100, the video after this one is more about this specific sled. This video was just supposed to be a guide to buying any phazer
Right on brother
how much phazers do you have
*many
The belt on that thing exploded. Hence the damage and missing trim
Why phasers rather than cat or skiddo ?
because phazers are cool
Cheap plus mods are relatively cheap
PZ480 Good 😃⤴️⤴️
It's a Bender pipe, it is not any better than a stock pipe, a AAEN pipe is the only way to go
A E E N ? Really! It's an aeen pipe c'omon dude
