Would have been VERY helpful to us “engineering-challenged” brains to have stated the sliding tie-down hooks with Trail Rail should go in between the pillars. Although doing things like this a second time are usually a valued learning moment regardless. Good walkthrough & nicely done. Thanks.
Looks great, I appreciate the video. I'm about to order my gladiator and have been planning out my build. This is the first addition I'll be making. The half rack seems tall enough to fit the dog crate in the back and keep our tent from being too much of a drag. Can't wait!
Well done video. Was surprised at the ease of install. Other than the missing bolt and 2 nuts shy requiring trip to hardware store…love the rack though. Great quality and the half rack with hard RTT is the perfect height on the Gladiator.
They send the rack with both mount options. The clamps for mounting to the bed look plenty sturdy and the video walk through was good. I couldn’t find a half rack I liked as much and so far JCR has come through on quality and good engineering. JCR’s instructions go over both with or without trail rails, so they made the mount packages to accommodate both options.
I ordered this bed back for my gladiator and very pleased with the look and quality, hand down to best quality rack and looking compared with other racks on market. I have iKamper 2.0 roof top tent on top , do you think it's safer to install the rack with bed rail system or clamp? I'm kind of scare to travel far with just clamp with my 100 of lbs iKamper on top, i would love to hear your opinion on this. Thanks
I can't believe nobody has designed a Gladiator bed rack that works with mopar tonneau cover and has a quick release to remove the roof top tent so you can load dirt bikes...Soon as this comes available i will buy one for sure, yes Ive seen the Lietner design, but the inside bed bars come to far inside the box imo, Thanks for sharing!
Love the Gladiator!!! Does anyone make a Gladiator bed rack that can remove the roof top tent top part so you can take dirt bikes and atv when not using roof top tent?
Great explanation, thanks..order full rack this week. Question: what company made the mounting boards that you have mounted inside the bed walls? Looks like the front and two side walls all fit together very well.
You guys think that's going to hold up to hundreds of miles of bouncing down rocky Colorado trails with a couple 100 pound tent up there? I'm worried about the Gladiator bed rails holding up to that lateral force.
I have the hard tonneau and the trail rails. If you could make two horizontal cross beams that go from trail rail to trail rail and 4 removable vertical supports 2-3 inches (maybe they slide on the cross beams) in from the bed rails that would probably work with the tonneau. That way I can store stuff under the tonneau during the week. Pop that off and put the tent ok with out having to deal with those awkwardly placed star bolts mopar decided to use on the rear of the tonneau rails. Otherwise this is great, just wont work for me.
well, since you inquired; aceengineeringandfab.com/collections/gladiator/products/ace-jt-gladiator-upper-decker has a upperdecker solution that not only gives you the hard bedcover, but rack for rooftop tent also for $775 (cover) + $150 (tent rack bars).
much prefer the simplicity of the JCR rack! no holes need to be added to the vehicle and all that extra weight! And that top section looks like a debris trap! I'm sure many would also choose the one you list below but for me the decision was portability, no more holes drilled in my vehicle and very easy to remove as I put the Tonneau cover back on In the winter so it comes off in 10 minutes and goes back on just as quick!
Nicely done. I believe this is the VERY first mod I’ve done to my Gladiator that had no run to the hardware store. Thanks for the professionalism.

Did you mount with clamps or to the trail rail?
@@Pierce0420 I mounted to the Trail Rail. Fast process, sturdy, and have had on a month now and two camping weekends.
@@thunderfromsea I have a bed liner and no trail rail. Hoping to find a sturdy clamp style bed rack.

How much weight will it hold once parked? Top camper and me?

The clamps work fine, but the bed rail system is even more secure and easier to work with, plus you can use it for other things. Up to you.

I can't find anywhere how much weight on top of this rack. For tent and my weight?
500lb dynamic (on-road) weight limit, static weight would be even higher than that, it would handle you and your tent just fine.

We actually make those as well

@@JcrOffroad Do you have any videos of what the clamping process looks like?

Yes. We've ran this system in the Tacoma and Tunrda with hundreds of miles on the rocks and in the desert and those beds are plastic.
@@JcrOffroad Sweet, good to know. Truck worlds still new to me as far as off roading goes.

Any chance this would work with the factory soft tonneau?
It will not.
I miss Handicorn...
He died.
Too bad Jeep didn’t make the bed with stake pockets.
way too expensive
How much do you think it should cost then?
