Thanks for the help. You guys ROCK!🎸🥁
Abby Ray Vlogz: So I purchased this tonneau cover and installed it last night. Grateful to you guys for posting this video, it made it so much easier. Not intended to hijack your install, but I would recommend pre-threading the side bed rail torx bolts "from hell", before attempting to install them on the rail. You guys were correct that they would take the longest time of the whole install. Using the supplied torx wrench in such a confined space, put me in touch with God :)
Lol
Great video , Thanks a million.
Another suggestion. The rear holes are full of paint. Grease up the torx bolts and run them in and out. When you begin to tighten them in the confined space they will start and tighten without so much difficulty!
This is the best Bak Flip tonneau cover video on the internet.
Excellant video to watch before and during install. Only thing I would recommend is to change the 4 torx bolts, 2 on each side where you cut out the rectangles, for hex head. Will make your install a lot easier.
You guys make a great team & produced a great, easy to follow video.
Thank you!
I just bought this cover for my 2022 Gladiator. You have two Rivnuts that need to be compressed. I bought a rivnut kit at Harbor Freight, $50.00, cheaper on Amazon but did not want to wait. Rivnuts are like a pop rivet but are threaded on the inside for the front mounting bolts. Never saw one before but they work well!
Did you buy the hand powered ricing tool?
@@miguelcereceres6977 I bought the Rivnut tool, nice tool, future uses, I’m sure.
Ok video, other than you didn't follow key component of the instructions. I see their is an earlier comment about the Rivnut which you called a bushing - the advise that user gave you was also wrong. There is a very specific instruction page about installing RivNut. A RivNut needs to be compressed by pulling using a special tool. If people do follow your instructions either the Rivnut will not be compressed at all or it will be compress via twisting which can damage the Rivnut, or damage the bed or it can also compromise the safety of the installation and per the instructions will clearly void the product warranty.
Excellent work
Helped a ton. Ty!
This video helped a lot! Thanks
🤟🏼💪🏼
Great video guys!
Nice work, thank you!!
I just ordered this, are you still happy with it? Do you wish you would have gone with on of the other ones?
We are pretty happy with it. We are also looking at a retractable cover.
Thanks - doing this today !
Thank you. Big help
Love it
Would you know where I can buy the anchor nuts “ the inserts that you put in the front of the truck bed”?
Not sure what you mean about bed anchor nuts?
Does the cover lock up. So you can leave some valuables in there? Maybe a baby stroller?
Yes as long as your jeep is locked and tailgate locked nobody cannot open it.
Nice video. Thanks! Is there a weather seal for the back of the bed cover where it meets the tailgate? Trying to see how well it will keep water out.
Yes it does and it keeps water out very well
@@abbyrayvlogz 👊🏾
i have heard this one leaks inside the truck from a few people.
i was suppose to go in two days to go get this but am looking at other versions now that come off easier to have the full use of the bed for a dirt bike easier. any suggestions?
It only leaks if the seals are not properly set. Mine does leak because I have my bed rack that causes the seals not to sit properly. This is honestly the only cover I have and never tried anything else. Im not sure what cover leaks or not. Our goal is to have a cover that is compatible with a bed rack. It does provide great protection of whats inside the bed it just leaks when it rains. The leaks are only on the side anyways and not in the middle.
@@abbyrayvlogz thanks. I think I am going to pass on the Mopar because if it leaks and then freezes at night that will create some issues. That and it looks like removing and making room for a dirt bike is not quick or easy to do. Thanks again for your answer.
Mine leaked. I switched to antidote rolling tonneau. So far so good
Great Video. I noticed that you did not compress the Rivnut. Do you need to do that? or just by closing the bolt, it will compress the rivnut and the job is done?
Not sure what riv nut you mentioned. Did not see anything on the instructions about a riv nut.
@@abbyrayvlogz the thing you called a bushing at 2:43 is a Rivnut and requires a special tool to install.
I’ve read the instructions and it talks about rivnuts that need to be installed, I SS you put one in but didn’t compress it.
The gladiator looks like a wrangler with a truck bed 😆. Still very neat tho
O
O ok kiillyksy
Thanks... Captain Obvious.
@@karmicforce01 your welcome
My bushing is smaller than the hole so it just pushes through. Ugh!
Can this be installed with the mopar bed trail rails
I tried to install mine yesterday but not sure what I did wrong the tailgate seems to be hitting the end of the rail and wont shut completely. Also, how the heck did you get the Voodoo rails with this tonneau cover to fit? Ahhh I am having the hardest time making it fit. You guys made it look so easy
Im sorry you are having trouble. The rail is probably not pushed all the way back to the front of the bed or not screwed in all the way. Or you mean the cover is preventing it from closing all the way? We had issue with tailgate not closing because of the cover being pulled back more than it should be. There are 2 screws that are in the front of the bed that you can lossen and push the cover towards the front until the cover lip is about 1 inch overlapping the tailgate. Thats is where you want it and makes sure the rubbers are sealing it. The voodoo crossbars were actually easier to install than the cover itself. We actually took out voodoo bars out and are upgrading yo another bars. Stay tune fo that video. We are just waiting for it to arrive!
@@abbyrayvlogz my issue with the vodoo bars is that it seams the bars (brackets) push the cover trails a tidbit in and reduces the distance from each side of the bed and when I go in to put the Mopar cover on it won’t sit on the trails by a tid bit off. Did you have this issue?
The tail gate issue has to do with the Mopar tonneau rail sticking a bit out near the tailgate I will go back and check on screws at front o the bed but seems they were all the way in. 😩
Is the trail rail system included with purchase of the hard tri fold tonneau cover? Nice video!
Sadly it does not.
That is a bakflip cover. Love it just put one on my truck
Its actually a mopar trifold cover. But they are about the same.
very good video, keep it up
thanks
Mine is not like this at the front of the bed. It only has the one hole at the top on the rail and none on the bottoms for the pre existing threaded hole. Did not come with bushings for the top hole. I can’t install it at all
That is weird. You would think its mopar it fits all of that model.
Can you secure the cover open in order to use the complete box?
You have to secure them with bungee or take the 2 bolts and take the cover off
That's the only thing I hate about it myself. I can't secure it fully open without looking bootleg.
Haha yup. Other than that I have a bed rack now so I barely open it fully now
Was really hoping I was just an idiot and there was a way to secure it full open. Disappointing.
@AbbyRayVlogz what rack are you using with this cover?
Does Mopar include any way of propping itself up fully opened, like the rugged ridge version?
Sadly No it does not. I use a bungee to keep it open or just take the 2 bolts out and take cover off.
@@abbyrayvlogz thanks, you just sold me on the Rugged Ridge over this one then.
I have the same cover. How do you use your bungee cords to keep the top completely open? I’m trying to avoid removing the top each time I need all the truck space.
@@abbyrayvlogz could always design one to benefit one's self.
When someone stands on it whats the weight max
Not sure if you are even suppose to stand on it. But my wife and I did stand on it to take a pic one time. (155lbs + 114lbs) it held up haha
@@abbyrayvlogz I have a trifold and I can stand on mine and holds 350lbs and I like that feature from it so wasn’t sure on this one
Excellent
Great video! Though, not great cover! I would advise anyone considering getting one to avoid if you expect security. After the install (which as others listed was hell with the threading). I was heartbroken to realize that by just pushing the cover from side to side, you could easily stick your hand in and pop it open. Took me less than a minute to just pop it open. It's not rigid enough, and gives to much once installed. Easy to say it, and move it away from the latches enough to pop open. Feel badly ripped off.
Does this top keep the water out of the bed?
Austin Donohue it actually does a great job keeping water out! It has drain tubes that are attached to both rails. As long as the seals all around are properly set it should be good.
@@abbyrayvlogz Curious about why the drain tubes are needed. If the top keeps water out, and the rails are inside the cover, wouldn't the rails not get water in them? Asking because I'm curious. Thinking about going with this cover on my JT, but the drain tubes leave me wonder why.. Thanks, -Todd
While the video is useful, the background music is as annoying as it can be.
You lost me with the annoying noise that I assume is supposed to be music.
That music makes me wanna chew on a bullet....Jesus.
You need a gimble this video shaking is making me feel sick. seriously
Good job guys
Thank You!
