Looks like the 2004 Fit that I am investigating this problem on (which is owned by a little old lady) will need a new boot seal... there's a chunk missing about 100mm long on the left side of the hatch!
John Smith, if the spare wheel well has signs of rusting or water ingress, it'll definitely be a factor to consider. It's usually failed sealant, above the back hatch by the rain channels
I have RTV'd those channels and by extension down to the hinge bolts for the struts already. But water is still getting in. So after checking both your vids the seal will be the next step. I had a mate look under the car and I am cleared to drill holes next to the spare wheel mounting bracket to take care of draining the swamp and ventilating that whole area. (My 1975 Datsun 120Y had the rubber bung in place to do just this.. I removed it permanently and the area was dry and dusty like a desert.). @@gtd65
@gtd65 I reckon internal will have to remove door panel. Sealamt on vapour shield probably not doing its job. I cleaned door seals up and put rubber restorer on. Put silicone on top left corners but won't be that. Due to have it undersealed and cat tray on so mechanic I bought off can check the door out.
So far, so good. I think there was also some water getting in via a missing rubber grommet where the previous owner had installed parking sensors in the bumper too!
@@gtd65 mine comes from left side and fills the trunk. I sealed the top cracks from each side, but I'm out of ideas now. Rubber seals looks absolutely normal !
@@HF1600ie does the water come in when the car is not used, i.e. just parked up? When I mentioned the rubber grommet, this was water getting pulled in while driving. Was fine when parked up or running the hose on the roof etc.
@@gtd65 I already thought about it. Water may come from below while driving, but if parked, eventually it comes from somewhere else. The car is used everyday so it's hard to tell. What a shame...the car is just fine otherwise.
@@HF1600ie it can be a strange one. When this car was purchased it replaced another light blue coloured Jazz/Fit that I'd solved the water ingress problem in using some paint. This black example was certainly somewhat more problematic. You really don't expect this sort of problem, from the likes of Honda.

We can but try and hope for dry weather.
Hi JC, I think if your water ingress is to the centre section of the car and not the boot/trunk area, it'll possibly be the door seals?

@@JC-hu1wd are the drains at the bottom of your doors blocked?
@gtd65 No I checked. Nothing obvious. Found another useful video on YT. Aussie mechanic
@@JC-hu1wd have you checked for any cracking in the rain channels on the roof?
Any news? My Jazz is a leaky one too.
