  • The second storyline! In this one Lu Bu is supposed to be a good guy, and in order to be a good guy in a 90s Three Kingdoms game you must be more like Liu Bei and support the Han. In fact, in this one Lu Bu gets to emulate Liu Bei in Jing Province and even save civilians at Changban (and Liu Bei himself) Well Cao Cao aint gonna let that happen, instead of the Five Path Shu destroying technique as presented by Sima Yi, Cao Cao will sow discord with Lu Bu, Liu Bei (Liu Zhang at this time), Sun Quan and Ma Teng and have them play against each other while also attacking Lu Bu with a Three-pronged and frankly very stale Emperor's Decree technique which no one should really take seriously at this point of the game.
The Legend of LuBu (LuBuZhuan 呂布傳, hereafter LBZ) is a MOD game, based on the game system of the popular battle chess game (Similar to Fire Emblem) - Legend of CaoCao (CaoCaoZhuan, hereafter CCZ) by KOEI. CCZ, originally released in 1998, is the third and last game from KOEI’s battle chess series about the Era of the Three Kingdoms in Chinese History. Well plotted and designed, its fluid gameplay sparked a trend of modding of which LBZ is an outstanding product. From script to battle design, LBZ is single-handedly created by tnu84 and released on the Chinese forum xycq (XianYuan ChunQiu), which has become a renowned CCZ modding hub with its many dedicated experts. LBZ is one of the first complete MOD to come out on the forum, and it follows the conquest saga of General Lubu, hailed as the most feared general of the era. With its touching plot, memorable characters, dialogues of wisdom and humor, and novelty in gameplay, LBZ has remained a classic.
    Storyline
There are 2 different storylines branching out after Battle 20: The Mighty Despot and The Virtuous Ruler. Player will be asked to choose for LuBu his attitude on Power and motive in War at this turning point, which will determine his fate. Each storyline is unique in its battles, items to be obtained, and usable characters
This is an old game, and thus an origins of Dynasty Warriors.

    "and support the Han."
The Emperor did send him letters thanking him for his help during the whole Dong Zhuo mess. So it's not impossible.

Lu, if you have the time anytime soon, I'd love to see your DW9 Empire CAW formulas. I noticed today on some of your older videos that you managed some really impressive ones that have (which is not easy) very unique facial builds. I'm replacing every generic character with a CAW for the second time (I did this on my Switch version before I got a PS5) and for some reason it seems harder to be as facially creative with better graphics LOL. I'm about half way through the "L's and I am kind of in a burn out for creative unique ideas. Then I remembered your channel and went looking back on your old screen caps and thought "Theres a fresh perspective". I know you moved on from this game, but don't let your CAW's go forgotten and wasted- Share them with us! Thanks man!

I dunno if I really put in that much effort in them, but perhaps if I reinstall the game later I will think about it

@@LuBuFengXian Thanks! I've actually found you can do alot as long as you work with the layers and colors to make them stand out unique. I wish they would have done more compatible parts/especially Nanman/Qiang parts, instead of those dumb wing sets. Their okay for one unique person, but then they don't really custom build more characters at all, making those chests a wasted slot imo.

yeah now that you mentioned it I do remember not liking the create a custom characters all that much in this game. 8 was so much better in that regard

@@LuBuFengXian I despised it at first. But once you get a knack for it, you can be pretty creative. Like I said, the trick is taking advantage of the layering and color-making systems. The facial building is second to none, though I feel overall 8 WAS a better design system. I was able to create every character color coded to respective kingdoms, entirely unique, and based on their novel characteristics with little trouble on 8 (though it was time consuming) and uploaded it as a "No generics YTR". I had some help in the form of contributors as well, but over time contributions kind of messed it up, as people were just making the most ridiculous swap-outs for famous generals, like a scrawny and weak looking Cao Zhang, ect. and its been altered so much from my original created file I really can't call it mine, or find the original for download. Not as easy to do with DW9. But I will say this- Once you have played an Empires game where every character is as identifiable at a glance as story characters, its a whole new experience and you will never want to see another generic officer again haha!

@@MidnightBlackandVictoria I can only imagine how fun it is to see every single officer being unique and having no generics running around.
