So glad you made it to Wellington! My favorite city in New Zealand, I was lucky enough to live there for 5 years while studying theatre at Victoria University and I made some of my happiest memories and life long friends in that city. It's a beautiful place to live. The cable car was my daily commute, I lived in a flat near the terminal at the top so was an easy trip down to the city every morning. Horrible having to walk (or crawl depending on how the night went) up Dixon street steps to get home when the cable car stopped running at night.

Hi Keaton and Katie! Yeah, Wellington is yet another beautiful environment in NZ, but very windy! As a Tolkien fan from childhood I am offended that Katie has not seen the LOTR movies. As a movie geek. I am more offended that she doesn't realise how much of an epic movie achievement the LOTR trilogy was. Three movies shot at once, the core cast assembled from all over the world for more than a year, some set decorations needing a year of set up - I could go on for hours,. but I won't. One thing that I am absolutely sick to have missed is the Gallipoli exhibit at Te Papa. I'm glad you guys are getting to see a bit more of the country, and I hope you keep enjoying it.
I never said I didn’t recognise what an astonishing group of movies they are. I actually did mention that it would have been so difficult to get the cast and crew to the filming location. I absolutely recognise how epic the movies are. I know they are loved by so many. I simply just haven’t watched them yet.

The Mt Vic track shouldn't be anything like two hours - it shouldn't take you more than half an hour up to the top lookout ...in fact the steepest track can be done in 15 min climbing up from Oriental Parade. The less steep tracks take a bit longer of course, but def not more than half an hour from Oriental Parade.

Depends if you start it from Constable street or Kilbirne.
We have the All Trails app that estimates the time for the whole track, not just up to the top!
