As someone who has dealt with depression, self harm, and suicidal ideations for a long time and have been a part of that community for a good 15+ years... Almost no one wants to hear, "You're fine." "I'm here," "I've got you," "I'm willing to hear your story," and "You don't have to carry this weight alone." Those are generally acceptable, but invalidating someone's feelings of despair only make them feel like they're just too weak to get through the day. Let them know you hear them, you understand them, and you have compassion for them. And honestly, I personally feel like the fact no one's there is because it often feels like there's no one there. Nickelback, "Saving Me" does a really good job of showing this because unless someone KNOWS what it looks like to carry these dark feelings, and KNOWS how it manifests in YOU, they'll miss it. I'm considered "high functioning" with bipolar and borderline personality disorder, and that really just means I hide it well to the public. But me? I can't hide it from me. And those around me? They know. I'm like a freaking hurricane with no direction and sometimes, all it feels like I can do is wait out the storm.
I'm so glad to see you back. I hope the family is well. My oldest daughter, who passed 2017, absolutely loved FIR. When I hear this man's vocals, now it is definitely a different experience. I miss her more each day, so I get this rendition of this song more than the original. God bless all. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤍
The original song is by Papa Roach and the singer, Jacoby, gave Ronnie his full blessing and loves Ronnie's reinterpretation of Last Resort. The thing I love about this version is that it truly makes you focus on the true depressing nature of the lyrics. The original is also phenomenal but it's so rocking that it's easy to get caught up jamming and not realize just how dark the song actually is. Ronnie leaves you with no option but to hear the actual message of the song. Great reaction ❤!
so a few things: this is a reimagined cover of the band papa roach's song last resort. ronnie radke, vocalist of FIR wanted to cover it since they just got off tour with PR. jacoby shaddix whos the vocalist of PR loved this cover. also FIR takes parts from their older videos and inserts them as little easter eggs. this one for example takes the whole city rebuildig itself and the last scene with the world is like a reverse of their previous music video watch the world burn
Thank you :). I wrote and attended poetry slams throughout high school and college so it’s almost like muscle memory kicking in when listening to songs with meaning behind them
@@TooBlunt I know you're probably swamped with being a new Dad but I sure do miss your reactions. Especially to Falling in Reverse. I'd love to see you react to their last 3 releases. That's my selfish wish but I also hope your family is well and wish you all the best! Keep on rocking! 🤘💀🤘
@@TooBlunt You are very welcome. I did enjoy it. Your reactions are always so real and true and honest and from your heart. That's why I enjoy your channel. So glad you are back. Hope everything is going good for you now.
ahhh very nice video my favorite part was actually the outro with you and your daughter listening to Popular Monster! Shes lucky to have such a great dad in her life! Now if everyone would follow suit I wouldnt have to worry so much about the future of this nation!
@@TooBlunt The original is a Nu Metal classic. It was super popular back in the day so I think the chorus may jog a memory for you. Can't wait to see you compare the two. Both are awesome in their own unique ways.
I loved your reaction to this song! When this originally came out in 2000 by Papa Roach, it hit me hard cuz that was the same year that I lost my father just 6 days before his 56th birthday to cancer while I was pregnant with my daughter. I was really close to him so when he passed I was severely depressed & add onto the fact that he wouldn't get to meet his granddaughter so this song along with my daughter's father helped me through it. The 1 thing I made absolutely sure was that even though she didn't get to meet him I would always show her pictures & tell her stories about him so both my kids would know what a wonderful person he was.
Yt mustve unsubbed me from you. Havent seen you in ages. So happy you popped up again! Have you done Ren yet uet??? You HAVE TO. He is such a versatile artist. So amazing and humble despite how good he is.
Re-imagined from the Papa Roach original version. Love this one too. I feel this version gets the message across better than the original. I have heard so many people hear this and say they did not realize what the song was really about until now.
I imagine you've heard the original by Papa Roach. Although it's almost unrecongnizeable, the lyrics are exactly the same. The arrangement and the vocals are amazing and really emphasize the lyrics in an emotionally identifiable way. Beautiful.
Great reaction!❤ I know you love Falling in Reverse. I don’t see a reaction from you from their song, “Watch the World Burn.” Maybe it’s me. But they had CaliperTV do a professional recording of the song in Sacramento and he has 3 ending’s instead of 1. His vocals live are BETTER than recordings. Hope you check it out. You’ll feel like you’re there. But the video and song is insane so you may want to react that 1st (if you haven’t already). I love Ronnie’s vocal talent. I saw them in February and I can say their set was the best I’ve ever seen. Like ever, and I’ve seen anywhere from Metallica to Tool to Motley Crue to Backstreet Boys (took my baby sister on her birthday).
Thia ua originally a Papa Roach song from around 2000. There is also a video where Ronnie shows it to the guys from PR - he was so nervous. No need to be of course. I never heard PR's version until I checked it out. Personally, it wasn't my thing, but Ronnie's reimagined version is gorgeous and powerful. As someone who suffers from Depression I feel the buildings collapsing is his world collapsing under the weight of his depression. That the buildings build back up doesn't help him because then it appears everything is fine. But he is NOT fine. I am not fine at the moment and despite all the talk to open up to someone you are given sunny 'cheer up and everything will be fine shit which makes it worse as it disconnects you further.
Dude... 1deep thoughts, good job... 2 I only know this groups work because of your reactions( you did their trilogy videos last year). With the hard metal and heavy wrap of previous songs i was pleasantly surprised by all the classical instruments in this song. 3 yep, the answers to asking for honesty can suck especially when asking how you doin gets answered with " Im just here waiting to die. You?"...
Great way to put it pal. And yea it’s tough to answer someone when you get a response like that. Btw how’s the carpet going ? Did you make any new ones ?
@@TooBlunt the rug looks good though its a little stiff. I have to wait until late fall or winter for more skins. Thats when the lambs are ready to harvest...
You should try to listen "not good enugh for truth in cliche" by Escape The Fate. This is the band that Ronnie was before FIR. He actually created this band with his friend Max and was kicked out of it when he was in prison. This is the reason he created Falling In Reverse as he was still in jail
Dude , your suppose listen to original by Papa Roach Then do the reimagined version , you’ll really appreciate the reimagined so much more , cause original version is nothing at all like this , you’ve probably heard the original, it’s an iconic song since 2000ish Anyways still enjoy your reaction 👍🏻
Personal opinion. I've loved the original all my life, but this is more relevant to a new generation and is in all rights its own thing. I will continue to rock both of these songs, but this one is much deeper.
