Afro-Pfingsten
Founded in 1990 by Daniel Bühler, Tom Keller and Michael Röttker, it has developed into the largest Swiss festival dedicated to the African and African cultures. While Daniel Bühler continues to shape and lead the festival, the two other founding members have already retired in the first years of the festival.
It began with some courses and the concert of a Senegalese band before a handful of spectators. In recent years, Afro Whitsun has counted some 70,000 visitors annually. The program includes concerts, markets, workshops and many other activities.
