    Thank you for this video! I’m at a point now where I’m 22, doing the LPC, have had some paralegal experience for about 6-7 months but had to leave in 2020 due to covid. It’s become almost impossible to get ANY type of job, I’m either ‘overqualified’ or don’t have enough experience. In terms of vacation schemes and so forth I’ve had the employability team at ulaw and everything help me, but yet it’s almost impossible to secure such a thing. Hopefully I’ll implement your tips and maybe finally have chance of getting further with the vacation schemes.

      First thing that stood out to me is you stating you're 22. Ayesha you have sooo much time!! I feel like Uni, this career process and social media make us believe that we should have our lives and careers set in your early 20s and that's BY FAR the case in reality. Give yourself time for sure, because from what you've told me you have been doing amazing things - esp in terms of taking the initiative to reach out to the employability team at ULaw. If you'd like, drop me an email (you can find this in the video description) and we can organise a Zoom meeting to have a chat about any concerns / questions you may have. In the meantime, I wish you all the best with your job search. In terms of paralegal opportunities - do try and look into Flex Legal and also watch my UA-cam video titled 'How I got 3 paralegal jobs in 2-ish years.' Hopefully there's some tips there that can help you out. Sending love ❤️

      You know what, that's such a fab level of dedication to the channel - even though you have a TC you're still watching my videos, I really really really appreciate that ❤️ Congratulations on the TC offer and it's great to hear you agree with the points raised in the video :)

    Some pure gems in this video! Thank you SO much for this. These tips are invaluable. Planning to apply to my firm where I'm currently a Paralegal. Mentality being, I am a complete stranger and external candidate.

    Thanks for this! How soon after receiving an offer are you expected to ‘lock in’ on your choice and sign the actual tc?

    • @simranjeetkmann
      @simranjeetkmann  3 роки тому +1

      No worries at all! I think I spent around a week. Thing is, you don't want to wait around too long to accept as I heard it could come across as you don't care?? I would clarify with the firm that offered a TC when they would ideally like a response back by.

    I also wanna do LLM in commercial law in September intake suggest best University for this.

    • @simranjeetkmann
      @simranjeetkmann  3 роки тому

      Apologies, my advice is more based around the training contract and vac scheme process. I did an LLM at University of Law, however there are several great universities (as well as University of Law) out there. I don't think I have the expertise to recommend the best one I'm afraid!

    Should I do the welcome email even though the vacation scheme is not virtual and even if I get assigned a buddy who introduced me to people?

    • @simranjeetkmann
      @simranjeetkmann  2 роки тому

      Hello! You could welcome email personally if you are provided with a team email address / individual email addresses. However if the vac scheme is not virtual, you can also visit your colleagues in their office if they're in. If the buddy has assigned you to people, you can definitely do the same and pop by people's offices for a chat. Hope this makes sense!
