Dave Matthew Band had 7 albums in a row debut at Number 1 on the Billboard 200. They are amazing.

Loved this. Just got done seeing them in Jersey and heckled this and you definitely described the “ next dimension “ feeling. Even more so standing right in front. I love their live performances, they are always and auditory experience. They will do riffs on single songs that go on 30 minutes sometimes. Which each member experimenting a bit of this and that with their own kind of solo. And every bandmember is a fantasic musician worth listening to those solos for.

I actually think this is one of the few DMB songs where the studio/album version is better. There's so much extra color from the saxophonist on the studio cut, it's incredible. It's like the season spring in song form. Check it out sometime from the album Before These Crowded Streets
Great reaction. Dave Matthews has suffered some terrible tragedies in his life but he still performs with joy. A personal inspiration for me.

These guys are absolutely huge in America. Playing stadiums and the biggest amphitheatres since the 90s.
The modern day Grateful Dead. They have been on the road forever. Dave's concerts are always uplifting and happy.

I've been to 100 of their shows through the years. They never give a bad live performance.
For 15 years in a row..yes...15 (I may be off a bit) they were the BIGGEST drawing band/musician on summer tours in the USA. They still pull into cities like Philly where I'm from, New York, etc. and can sell out stadiums for 2, 3, even 4 days in a row.
The original band is Dave, the bass player Stefan, the drummer Carter, a violinist who unfortunately said/did some terrible stuff and had to be let go a few years ago, and a sax player who died in an ATV accident a little over 15 years ago. The additions of Jeff (Saxophone), Tim (Guitar), and LaShawn (Trumpet), mixed in with guest artists, has helped keep the band alive and still touring. Their concerts are magical, religious experiences. They're the ultimate "jam band" - they never play the same song the same way.

You NEED to check out All along The Watchtower from Central Park.. it is long but I PROMISE it is worth it.. being there was soul altering.. $20 tickets, 120k people, beautiful September night, almost exactly 2 years after 9/11, in the middle of New York City.. the memories still give me chills.. you’ll love it.. I promise.

Dave is from South Africa! You can hear a lot of tribal culture in his music. His mother said to never leave south Africa out of his music and it constantly shows through.

A cousin of mine co-wrote a childrens book with Dave and nothing but nice things to say about the guy. Easily my favorite band, if you have time, check out a live version of "Ants Marching". It's probably their most recognizable hit song, and a great live show as well. Enjoyed the reaction, ty!!

Been a fan since the beginning, first time seeing then live in 1998. Soooo happy for you both that you've discovered them.
